"As listed perfect location."
Beautiful and very cottage. All the facilities you require and more for a stay there. Big thank you to the owners
-
"A beautiful house which is very comfortable with everything you could need."
It is really a special place. Also in a great location in the centre of Horncastle.
-
"Absolutely stunning home."
Everything you need right there. Very comfortable beds and lounge seating. Alan is just around the corner and happy for any questions. We always use Sykes and love to go to different places but this place is a definite place we will return to.
-
"A well-equipped, comfortable house, charmingly decorated and very handy for the shops and cafes in the town centre."
Our two dogs thoroughly recommend the sausage treats included with breakfast at Doodles Diner
-
"We usually book country cottages, rather than a townhouse."
This made a refreshing and lovely change. Great location for the town and as a base for exploring the Wolds. The accomodation is lovely and full of character.

"Stunning accommodation."
Set in a lovely quiet street but central to all amenities in Horncastle with its many pubs, 2 bakers, 2 butchers and a fantastic Italian restaurant. The house is immaculate and has everything you could wish for. You feel transported back in time in the lovely kitchen but have all the modern equipment we are all used to. The owners sent us a very informative email before we arrived and kept in touch about checking in which was appreciated. Comfy seating in the living area although the sky package was a bit limited. Would definitely recommend and would visit again.

""Imagine stepping into a holiday home, where every detail whispers of intrigue and allure."
From the carefully chosen decor that seems to hold secrets of its own, to the meticulously arranged appliances and cutlery, this place feels like a stage set for adventure. It's not just about where you stay; it's about the stories waiting to be discovered within these walls. And when you step outside, lovely walks or heading to the beach, adds another layer to the mystery. In short, 12 Banks Street is a treasure trove of intrigue just waiting to be explored." Thank you Alan and jamielah

"House was incredibly clean, really comfy, well equipped and stylishly decorated."
Thank you! One question for the owner - we were intrigued by the room downstairs and what you use it for! And almost feel like you should explain for other nosey guests (like us) Thanks again
-
"I would high recommend this place, the house was beautiful it has a modern feel but in keeping with the property with lots of unique touches, They have really put thought into every thought thing in what they offer, including toiletries, treats and right down to cleaning, The host was always on hand and provided all the relevant information about the property including great places to eat!"

"Our second stay at this wonderful property."
The house has everything you could need for a stay, every little thing is thought about, so if you forget anything it’s there! A big thank you for the added extras to welcome us. The home is furnished to a high standard, the beds are comfortable, it is clean and you can just enjoy the most relaxing stay. Dogs are welcome but you don’t find a trace of them from previous guests nor does the property smell of dogs like others. It is located well for days out and the town itself has everything you need should you not want to venture far. I’d recommend the spa trail walk from horncastle to Woodhall spa, a lovely walk along part of the Viking way. We will definitely return in future and would highly recommend a stay here.
-
"Such a fabulous house and just as advertised."
Everything you need for your stay will be there and the decor is just gorgeous. No problems unloading/loading and getting parked in nearby streets. Fab location. Can't wait to stay again!

"12 Banks Street is a perfect house and holiday home."
Everything is thought of and it is beautiful. We highly recommend it and can't fault anything about it. It's beautiful, comfortable, cosy, quiet and has everything you need. Everything is very high quality. It is also a great location by the centre of Horncastle. We will definitely try and book to stay again.

"When judging a holiday property the key question is "Would I stay here again?"
". My answer? - "Absolutely, without a doubt, its perfect". The location, very close to the centre of the charming market town of Horncastle, is highly convenient and the decor of the property is stunning. Moreover it is exceptionally well equipped; dogs even get their own pooch shampoo! Cleanliness is of the highest order. The owners, Alan & Jemielah were extremely helpful; we asked their advice re suitable restaurants in Horncastle for disabled patrons and they personally visited likely venues to check wheelchair access etc. Wonderful!!!
-
"Although the house was immaculate and spotlessly clean the property is not really suitable for dogs as the outside space is on the first floor."
Unfortunately we found the house very noisy inside as it is only single glazed throughout and backs onto 2 very noisy pubs playing loud music until late.
-
"This is a exceptional holiday rental."
Very comfortable and ideally situated in the town.
-
"We had such an amazing stay here, we were recommended it by friends who recently stayed there."
The house is beautiful and EVERYTHING is thought out so well. Lovely hosts too, Horncastle is a great town with so much history, antique shops and pubs. The people are really friendly as well. Just looking through our diary to book another stay. x

"Had a lovely stay at Banks Street."
A fascinating and quirky house. Really convenient for the town and local shops. Was everything we expected with our hosts Alan & Jameliah coming to our rescue with an item we’d forgotten. The little extras, such as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets were really helpful. Found it easy to park nearby.
-
"The standard of the property was immaculate, couldn’t have wanted anything more."
Disappointingly we had to leave early for a family emergency but would recommend to all (and have done).
-
"Had a brilliant week at No."
12 Horncastle. The house is even better in real life and everything has been thought of from all the toiletries you might need to everything you can think of kitchen wise. Would definitely recommend this place!
-
"This is an amazing house - the best we have stayed in."
Absolutely beautiful old house and everything is very high quality and so comfortable. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Also the owners were so helpful. Great that such a gorgeous house also lets you take pets. Our dog loved it and as downstairs is flag stones and wood floors and there a stair gate, it's easy to have a dog there. Also Horncastle is great. Will be going back!

"Just Amazing!"
We unlocked the door and was greeted with the most wonderful smell the house was warm, lights were glowing and Christmas music was playing softly in the background. It was a true home from home experience decorated and furnished to the highest standard. The most comfortable sofa and bed we have experienced in a rental so far. We had no problems parking for the full week. Alan was first class and very quick to respond to a query we had. A great house and a great host. We can also highly recommend the Bull Inn (very friendly). Thank you Lauraine, Graham, Brucie and Brian

"Very comfortable, well equipped and beautifully decorated."
The only drawback is the lack of parking. The off road parking detailed on the Sykes website IS NOT AVAILABLE the only unrestricted free parking we could find was on street parking a quarter of a mile away.
Many thanks for your feedback. Please accept our sincere apologies that there was incorrect information regarding parking on our third party website. This has now been updated and our apologies have also been passed on to the property owner for the error. Kind regards, Sykes Cottages. Property Owner

"12 Banks Street is an amazing, quirky property."
It is ideally situated in the town, with everything being within a few minutes walk away, including pubs, restaurants, bakery, coffee and tea shops and the supermarkets. The home is furnished to an excellent standard and is very well kept. The attention to detail is excellent, with lots of quirky items on show. The Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and more. The owners provide so much more than other properties we have stayed at, such as foil, dish cloths, salt, pepper etc. The bathroom also providing lots of good quality goodies, such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bathroom cleaning products and more. The soft furnishing are high quality and the sofa and beds really comfortable. I am a harsh critic when it comes to staying away and i could not find a fault with this home, any guest who visits will be wowed. We had a great time relaxing, going on walks and it is situated well for visiting the coast and popular tourist areas. You will definitely not be disappointed if you book to stay here.

"This is a fabulous holiday cottage."
Stylish and superbly appointed, we were comfortable and immediately at ease. The contact with the owners was tremendous giving us useful information. Rooms are spacious with literally everything one needs for a break. Would return whenever possible.

"Character property in the centre of town - handy for shops and access to main road for day's out."
Lovely private roof terrace!

"This was my first time back in Lincolnshire in a meaningful way for over twenty years, and 12 Banks Street did not disappoint as a base from which to re-explore the understated charms of the Wolds and beyond."
The house is welcoming, stylish, comfortable and incredibly well-equipped, with unexpected and thoughtful touches throughout. Truly a home from home - ideal for our small family of three. Though we didn’t meet them in person, our local hosts Alan and Jamielah were generous, attentive and helpful - swiftly and patiently dealing with all our queries, however random they may have been... We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at 12 Banks Street, and it deserves every glowing, 5-star review it receives - and with the best bath this side of The Wash, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hidden gem to anyone and everyone. We left with happy, sunny and sandy memories of a trip back home. Thank you Alan and Jamielah.

"Where to start - we have traveled the world, staying in many holiday lets and this was one of the nicest."
A super location for Horncastle- close to all the shops and restaurants. Like a page out of a high-end design magazine, the interior of Banks Street continued to impress throughout our 2-week stay. The attention to detail and quality of the furnishings were, in a word -superlative. Even during the historic heat spell, Banks Street provided a quiet refuge, and our hosts, Alan and Jamielah, did everything they could to make our stay truly comfortable. We cannot recommend a stay at Banks Street too highly- it will not disappoint. John & Karen

"12 Banks Street is such a quirky, well thought out holiday cottage."
Attention to deal adds that extra special feel. It has everything you need and more, for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The hosts are like their property… first class! Going above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable! The location is perfect for exploring the area, with Baumber Walled Garden and Jubilee Park being top of the list, along with Wolds Wildlife Park. Overall our 2 week stay recently was perfect in every way, even the weather! I can highly recommend staying in this beautiful cottage.
-
"Loved the property and all the thoughtful little extras."
It was very quirky with the feel of a boutique hotel. This really was a 10/10 for us. We couldn't have asked for more. The lack of on-street parking directly outside was the only down-side but it didn't turn out to cause a big issue for us as we were always able to find somewhere nearby.
-
"12 Banks Street was a feast for the eyes and the senses!"
The owners did an outstanding job in providing every comfort a lodger/vacationer could ever want or need, and were always there and available should we have needed anything. Their kindness was infectious. This lovely dwelling reminded me of the lovely Brownstones in Brooklyn, New York City. It was very comfortable to live at, and is highly recommended!
-
"Lovely location in heart of town."
Extremally well equipped and comfortable property. Highly recommend to others we will be booking again
-
"This property is fabulous!"
, immaculately clean, and beautifully presented. It is in the centre of the town which makes easy access to the high street and shops. The owners were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel very welcome to stay at the property. One small suggestion would be a downstairs toilet would make it even better. We would very much like to stay again in the future. It was a great base to discover the Lincolnshire Wolds area. Thank you for a lovely few days. 5 stars for 5 star accommodation! Highly recommended.

"My family & I absolutely loved our stay at No 12."
The property is beautifully furnished and perfectly clean. Alan & Jamielah have truly thought through everything you would need for a relaxing holiday, including a bottle of champagne, dog bowls and blankets, bath bubbles & salts etc. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook. We loved sitting by the fire in the evening and the beds were extremely comfy! Thank you both so much for a wonderful stay.

"We have spent Christmas week at 12 Bank street and from the first impressions through to the excellent communication with the hosts, we were not disappointed."
We walked in and the radio was playing in the kitchen/diner, the house was sympathetically trimmed for Christmas. We have stayed in holiday homes for years and this house is outstanding, every thing thought through. I cooked a traditional Christmas dinner without worrying about a shortage of equipment. The quality of everything is to a hight standard, home from home. Look out for the remotes for the lamps, a really nice touch and something we have already bought for our home.Nice touches all around the house. We spent more time than we would normally in the house due to the miserable weather and found it very comfortable. The local shops and pubs were visited and everyone friendly and welcoming. We unloaded outside the house and then parked a minutes walk away and had no issues when we went out and returned in getting a parking space. Whether a visitors book would be useful? we did not locate one and maybe a throw to use in the lounge as whilst the heating and log burner are very good, its nice to feel cosy. No hairdryer at this time in the house which is fine as long as you know before you arrive. We would definitely recommend a stay. Thank you Alan and Jamielah.

"We stayed at the cottage for 1-month while we were in the process of moving and we could not have asked for a better experience!"
We were warmly welcomed with a bottle of bubbly, a selection of fancy gins and basics such as milk/ teas & coffees. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the decor and facilitites. It's a very stylish and comfortable space. The kitchen also has any utensil/ electrical appliance/ pot/ pan, etc you could possibly need. As an eco-conscious couple we very much appreciated the eco-friendly touches, such as the reusable shopping bags, refillable toiletries & cleaning supplies. Not that we needed to worry about cleaning, because the hosts arranged a full house clean once a week for us, which included a bedding change & fresh towels. The hosts were also super flexible & always on-hand if we ever needed anything. We would highly recommend staying here & hope to stay again next time we're in the area!
