  • "Little cottage back of main house very quiet owners very helpful all you need"

  • "We enjoyed our stay at field view, the initial drive upto the owners house was a bit off putting, with potholes, wrecked caravan and dismantled motors, presumably owned by the garage."

But once onto the owners premises it is a delight, little sheep grazing and lovely big carp in the Central pond, an immaculate main house and grounds. The cottage is behind the main house overlooking the fields. It is a small cottage, with small rooms, but perfectly adequate for two people. It is well maintained and was very clean., with all you need for your stay. Really quiet on an evening /night, although the bed was a bit too firm for us, but that is always personal preference. The main bus route is a short walk up the road, with regular buses to cleethorpes and Grimsby which we used most of the time. All in all we had a lovely stay and would recommend fieldview.

Some constructive feedback: Could do with some coat hooks either on wall or door Also I could not find a colander to drain vegetables

Assistance was provided promptly with some technology when needed and we were able to enjoy our holiday straightaway. A nice amount of space, dining room with extra desk for jigsaw puzzle when the weather was wet. Nice sized kitchen and lounge with views over the fields at the back. Nice flat route for cycling into Cleethorpes water front. A lovely walk into the Fitties nature reserve from a nearby car park. Altogether a lovely week. This was our third stay.

It has all the necessaries available and a couple of luxuries left for you to enjoy. The cottage is very well equiped and comfortable even with its own sun trap and bbq area outside to use privately. A lovely little place to get away, or come home, but facilities and attractions are close at hand and easy to get to. Thank you for a great stay, was just what we needed and we will be back. • "What an amazing holiday cottage."

It has everything you could possible need and sheep. The cottage is behind the owners house but this doesn’t impact on your stay at all. As you have your own cottage and are left to enjoy the peace and quiet of the local area. When you do see the owner though she is always kind and caring and happy to chat. The cottage itself was just what you need for a self catering holiday. Well equips kitchen, with all you could need to cook. The added little treats left by the owner just makes it even more special. The living room is comfy and just big enough for what you would need it for there are also doors that lead to a lovely little patio area with seating and a bbq. Don’t worry about the charcoal though. The cottage has that all covered. The bedroom has a lovely bed and the chocolates left went down very well. The dinning room was great and the little table meant we could set up the laptop (you get excellent free Wi-Fi) and was a great space for what we needed the computer for. Finally the bathroom which was clean and tidy and had all the toiletries and towels you could need. Oh, and don’t get me started on the shower. I thought I would never get my husband out of it he loved it so much. Only small downside was for us the tv signal was a little iffy at times (we never asked about it though as we were to busy going out and having fun) but that wasn’t really an issue as it was still watchable it just froze or fuzzed every once in a while and I know if we had of spoken to the owner she would have gone above and beyond to sort it. All in all I would have to say our stay was amazing and I could not recommend this cottage enough. I will definitely be telling all my friends and family about it. Seriously if you want a nice quiet holiday free of hassle with all the wildlife and nature at you fingertips but still close to a beach and a town then look no further this is the holiday cottage got you. Thank you for a lovely stay.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. It was lovely meeting you. Thank you so much for the kind words about the cottage. Hope to see you again. Rachel Property Owner

Thee cottage is listed as bing behind a catttery! I read reviews and was looking forward to cat cuddles. The cottage was warm, cosy and clean. The bed and sofa were a little low for us oldies but it caused a few laughs. A good selection of books, wine and chocolate were welcome. A definite thumbs up.

Good, safe off-road parking. Very friendly but unobtrusive owners. Plenty of facilities plus welcome extras such as wine and chocolates. • "Cottage very clean."

Bathroom very small, not recommended for a larger person. No information about nearest doctor, hospital, dentist, taxi, places to visit etc. Not ideal having to go through the cottage to get from kitchen to dining room. Patio area ok but needs a sun brolly for when it's hot. Didn't realize how close it was to the owners house, photos are deceiving. Not enough cooking utensils in kitchen, no roasting tin, no proper mixing bowl, no splash screen for frying pan, no wok for stir-fry or chips. Outside there is a rotten piece of decking just through patio door on right. Both front and rear doors are stiff to open. Cottage just needs a bit of tlc with maintenance.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and even left us a lovely bottle of white wine cooling in the fridge. They have an adorable little cat that just loves being invited in and is very companionable but that is up to you though we can thoroughly recommend her to help chill you out. The area is very seasidey more Blackpool than Brighton but there is so much countryside to explore if you want something more bucolic. It is nice to have a dining room as well as a comfortable lounge and the kitchen is a good size. Unfortunately, we had only been there one day before the Government announced another lockdown so we had to cut our holiday short only three instead of the six days we had planned but they were really nice days. Highly recommended and should we want to visit there area again we would definitely book this cottage.

  • "The property is good value for money and is situated in a very quiet location, with many things on offer."

The terrain is very flat so is ideal for walking and cycling. We enjoyed our fish and chips in Cleethorpes, which doesn't boast a great beach, but Mablethorpe is accessible for a day trip which has a very clean and sandy beach. You need to drive to the Wolds for pretty villages and Tealby is well worth a visit. The owners live next door and are very helpful. We were unlucky that the TV and DVD player didn't work well but I'm sure they will sort this out. They have a very persistent cat who scratches at the window, wanting to get in, but it eventually gets the message and goes away. We could recommend Sykes Cottages and would definitely go back to Field View again, hopefully when there is no Pandemic. We were grateful to be able to get away during the pandemic and have done it safely. Thank you.
