"We had a relaxing stay at Abbey Cottage which is an ideal spot to explore Lincoln and the surrounding area."
It’s a deceptively spacious studio apartment with a separate bathroom and walk-in wardrobe with a fabulous view overlooking the remains of Barlings Abbey. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. Heartily recommended.
-
"Lovely peaceful accommodation."
Dark skies at night with few lights visible. Very helpful owners were around if you needed them but otherwise left us to ourselves. Would definitely consider a return sometime.
-
"What a wonderful superb little loft studio apartment, tucked away in a lovely quiet picturesque location in Lincolnshire."
Everything was perfect from location, cleanliness , comfort and provisions. We could have stayed there for a month! It was the perfect place to rest after coming down with a chest cold. Wonderful, recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay with views over the countryside and ancient Abbey ruins. We will definitely come back again on our next trip from Canada. Thankyou to our hosts Carole and Jon we had an amazing stay.
-
"My fourth great holiday at Abbey Cottage; it's well equipped, set in lovely, peaceful surroundings, and has wonderful views."
-
"The property is situated in a really nice part of the countryside not too far from Lincoln."
We found that there was no noise at night and no light polution which was great. Where we live we have both and it was nice to sleep undisturbed. The accomodation was adequate for our needs and the people very helpful.
-
"This was my third visit to Abbey Cottage and I enjoyed it just as much as the earlier ones."
The studio is spacious and well equipped; it's also well designed with a large walk-in wardrobe to keep clothes and other clutter out of sight. In the evenings, the view over the abbey ruins at sunset is beautiful. I do hope to go back for a fourth visit!

"We had a lovely comfortable stay in the studio apartment ."
The kitchen is well equipped and the balcony was great to sit out as it was hot the breeze came across the field which was lovely. It was very peaceful and just the place to rewind. It is in a good location to visit Lincoln city and the RAF aviation museum for any enthusiasts for the Lancaster Bomber. The coast is around an hour away.We would recommend Abbey Cottage at the Ferry House Farm,Low Barlings

"Very nice & relaxing, studio apartment, views over abbey & wolds spotting wildlife excellent."
Would recommend highly
-
"Excellent property with amazing views and quiet location."
The owners welcomed us and then left us to it which was great as really relaxed which is what we needed. The roof in the toilet was the only negative as caught our heads more than once but not enough to stop us returning.
-
"This was my second visit to this beautifully designed and well equipped studio."
The location is ideal: in very quiet countryside, with wonderful views, but only 2 miles from a main road into Lincoln, making getting out and about easy. I loved going back there each evening. The owners are kind and helpful - even to fixing the catch on my car boot when it wouldn't close on departure. I hope to return.

"Great place to stay."
-
"Absolutely first class accommodation."
Super place to stay and sit and take in the wonderful view. Would recommend Abbey View Cottage any time of the year. Just a fabulous break. Thank you to our hosts John and Carole for making our holiday so enjoyable.

"I'd never before hired a studio, so wasn't sure what to expect, but in the event I was delighted with Abbey Cottage."
It was far more spacious than I'd anticipated, it was carefully and well furnished and the space had been very well designed with a large walk-in wardrobe so I could keep my clutter out of sight. The balcony overlooking the fields and the abbey ruins was a great touch and most evenings were warm enough to eat outside. The environs were lovely so if I go back it will be with binoculars and a bird book to see and identify the many types of birds around.
-
"No, nothing."
.couldn't find fault with anything.
-
"The view from the property is wonderful, we spotted at least 20 different species of birds as well as other wildlife (binoculars are a must) There are several walks from Ferry House Farm, but many are overgrown."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Abbey Cottage which is clean and comfortable. Surprised and disappointed that the owners Carole and Jon, living on site, did not come out to say goodbye when we left.
-
"Wonderful place to stay, peaceful, great views and made to feel very welcome."
Great sunsets and sunrises even In October. We will return.
-
"Great little place with endless walks straight from the door, perfect!"
-
"This is a very peaceful location out in the Lincolnshire countryside but not too far from a number of interesting places including Lincoln itself."
The accommodation was very comfortable and well equipped. The only comment I would say is that you may struggle with using the shower if you are over 6 ft tall due to the slipping roof but I would highly recommend this apartment. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

"Lovely helpful hosts"

"Carol and John were good hosts, giving us eggs and potatoes freshly dug."
The studio was wonderfully comfortable and the views and wild life excellent. The studio amenities were good although we could have done with more than 1 tea towel and a coffee perculator (the latter quickly found). The bed and sofa were relaxing and a good choice. Our only concern was the shower, essential for 65 year old plus like us, which i found temperamental and possibly down to the relatively low water pressure, number of people sharing a common water supply and using the facilities at the same time as us. Our dog Harry enjoyed great freedom of the extensive lawns and our hosts were very accepting of his adventures. All in all a good value holiday with peace and quiet of some lovely walks and woods. A welcome pack was mentioned in the visitors log but we did not receive one.

"The photo's listed are what you get."
The cottage has a relaxed atmosphere and we really enjoyed being there.
-
"The apartment is highly decorated to superb class."
Has all you need to have a cosy home from home stay. Absolutely spotlessly clean. The owners very friendly and helpful. Glorious walks and views could not ask for more. Great for country walks and beach. Cannot fault this fantasic quite location. I now have a sulky dog on return who stands looking out of the window wondering what has happened to all the wildlife. Would definitely recommend for an enjoyable stay. We will go back

"Good relaxing holiday, great for the dogs with footpaths from the door step."
Lovely and clean and a great view from the window, we saw lots of different birds, owls, kestrels, swans, egrets and ducks. Had some lovely sun rises and the stars are brilliant at night. Lots of pubs a short drive away recommend a visit to the Dam Busters Inn at Scampton, saw the red arrows practicing while driving towards the pub, what a sight that was, they did a loop over the field right by us, wasn’t expecting that. You will have to take your own dish cloth and washing up liquid and also milk although tea, coffee and sugar are provided for when you arrive.

"Second visit and again a very nice quite holiday in a superb cottage."
-

"Beautiful cottage in amazing countryside with spectacular views."
Wonderfully quite and peaceful with immense diverse wildlife. Can not afford to go out without a Pair of binoculars. The owners are really Helpful and very amiable and maintain a farm yard like I have never seen before with it being fully landscaped. The cottage is lovely and a very high standard just far away from village to be so tranquil. Look forward to visiting again soon.

"Absolutely a great place to stay and the hosts are lovely to, we have booked again for August, cant wait to go back."
-
"The view from the studio was stunning I don't remember if you show it on your website but you should."
-
"To overlook the ruined remains of Barlings Abbey was a privilege hard to overstate."
They stood in a field grazed by a handsome herd of Pedigree Longhorns (non-threatening). The ruins are part of the unique Witham Abbeys chain of nine monasteries, all within a few miles of each other. They are set in flattish landscape amongst the Bardney Limewoods scatter of semi-ancient woodlands, a couple of which are within easy walking distance besides hedgerows and becks in handsome farmland. In springtime there are plenty of wildflowers. By the way, the grand but inviting Tudor mansion at Doddington has a fine informal garden with spectacular wild flowers by its stream. All in all it is exactly the world all those young bomber pilots fought and died for in WW2, and they are commemorated everywhere around.

"We had a friendly welcome from Carole and Jon and the apartment was warm and comfortable during a chilly spring week ."
It was well placed for trips to both Lincoln and the Wolds and there were some nice walks locally with the dog. There was a splendid view from the balcony windows across the ruined Barling abbey, with great birdwatching . Altogether a relaxing and peaceful break .
-
"Excellent location for exploring the area, the open plan layout of the accommodation works well, it might be worth considering blackout blinds for the patio Windows as the early morning light was very bright, not a deal breaker though."
-
"Beautiful studio apartment in a stunning location, wonderful views across the fields of the abbey."
We really enjoyed our stay in this peaceful place that felt like it was miles from anywhere while being just a few minutes drive from the centre of Lincoln. The hosts were helpful and friendly and couldn't have done more for us.
-
"Excellent property - very well presented and extremely warm and comfortable."
Good attention to detail - good wi fi link and hd television.
-
"The hosts were outside working on their land as we pulled up at the cottage and came to say hello."
The cottage itself was above and beyond what we expected, it had everything we needed and more. It truly was a home away from home, I would definitely come back if ever I was visiting Lincoln again!
-
"This is a fabulous place to stay, it is in the countryside but just a short distant to the City of Lincoln."
I had a lovely break here, using this as a base to visit friends and family in Lincolnshire. Hosts were fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. A fantastic place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy the countryside.
