Loved every minute of our stay Rebecca helped me to source extra supplies for our stay as this was a surprise for my now wife, I booked this place for our honeymoon, completely isolated only saw 2 dog walkers the whole week we were there loved the wood fired hot tip and the lovely little shepherds hoot. Massive thanks to the owner who helped make it that bit more special. We Will definitely be returning!

peaceful surroundings, fantastic hosts and the perfect setting for my husband and I to escape the hustle and bustle of our working lives. Brilliant hot tub, bed super comfy and a fabulous pub (The Brownlow Arms) only a 25 min walk along the banks of the River Trent. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. Will definately return and would highly reccommend. Not another person in sight a true serene getaway.

  • "We had a lovely couple of nights in the Shephard Hut and it was just what we needed."

The hut is cosy and would be lovely in the winter with the woodfire on I bet. Luckily the sun came out for us so we got to sit outside. Rebecca is a lovely lady and is there if you need her but also leaves you to the peace and quiet. We headed to a local pub which wasn’t too far but as you would expect in a village, if you did want to do any activities, you’d be better driving out to the nearest town. That definitely wasn’t a disadvantage for us though! I would love to stay again some time and I will definitely recommend to friends.

Thank you for staying with us, we are super pleased you had a lovely stay and look forward to you coming back some day Property Owner

No immediate neighbours adds a level of luxury to the experience. We stayed for 4 nights & wished we had booked the week!

  • "Rebecca is such a great host, catered and looked after us very well!"

The hot tub stayed warm/hot throughout our stay which was lovely, Rebecca also offered to change the water as well. Due to the remote location there were so many bugs including spiders, apart from that we enjoyed our gateway. The hut had all amenities and was cosy. The nearest town is 10-15 mins away so there are plenty of things to do.

Thank you for your lovely feedback Darita, so pleased you enjoy your stay. We would welcome you both back any time. Sorry about the spiders and bugs but very understanding of you considering your surroundings. Best Wishes Rebecca Property Owner

  • "I think that the write up and photos just don’t do this property justice."

It is not clear on your site that there is only the one hut in situ and that the hot tub was just for us to use. A number of huts we looked at before this property on your site made it clear that we would be sharing facilities. (Which we did not want) So we took a chance anyway that it was just going to be us and WOW it was amazing we had everything we could have wanted to escape. We were at the very end of a long drive through fields and were nested in beautiful opening, surrounded by fields to the sides as well as a large duck pond and in back of us was more fields and in front was the river Trent and more fabulous views of woods and fields. Which blow us away. We were made very welcome by our host who once we were set up left us to it. But was at the end of the phone to help which she did quickly and with a warm manner with the questions and help we needed. Once we were settled in we did not see anyone. It was one of the best experiences we have had and managed to relax and unwind from a busy lifestyle. The walls offered breathtaking views we walked for hours and only came across sleep, (who followed us up to the next gate very friendly!) cows (which enjoyed making us walk round them and as soon as we did they moved off the path lol) and one fish man who friendly chat and guidance to a pub. It you are thinking of escaping this is the place to go I cannot put into words just how amazing this place was a true hidden gem that you must added to your bucket list !!!

Thank you so much Tracy and Paul, it was a pleasure to have you both stay with us at Holme Farm, your helpful ideas have made us put wheels into motion and your positive feedback means so much to us. We look forward to you both coming back to visit us in the future. Thank you Property Owner

  • "Had a fantastic weekend stay at Sweet Caroline, despite the 'great' British weather doing its best to (literally) put a dampener on it."

we received a lovely welcome from Rebecca, who gave us great advice on the local amenities, and nothing was too much trouble in ensuring we had everything we needed. The hut itself is beautifully done out, with comfy beds, a surprisingly spacious shower and of course, an amazing hot tub! It is located in a nicely secluded spot, with great access to walks straight from the hut door, along the Trent River in either direction. I highly recommend Sweet Caroline for a relaxing break in peaceful surroundings!
