Lovely stay clean and very homely, problem with heating resolved straight away, beds comfy, Children loved being able to chill in their own rooms with TV, s few cracks on kitchen and bathroom floor but didn't affect our stay, close to amenities, next to beach, have booked already to return hopefully may have a upstairs loo as plenty of room for one, would recommend to anyone

Lovelly house good location for beach and town would definitely stay again the only complaint would be need a toilet upstairs but didn't ruin the holiday was a lovely stay

  • "Everything was as stated."

We all had a really nice stay. The only thing that needs doing is a deep clean of the wet room, really bad black mould. But apart from that a lovely place to stay.

  • "A dishwasher would help as the kitchen is so small."

We did try to hoover up but the cleaner left such a doggy smell we didn't complete it. Perhaps if the cleaner was emptied after a doggy visit that would help. We also had to clear dog poo off the artificial grass when we arrived. We loved the retreat and thought it was in a perfect place by the sea.

  • "The Retreat was an amazing place to stay with an ideal location."

We would 100% recommend and would love to return in the future. The Retreat is spacious, comfortable with lots of added homely touches. There was plenty of room for all 8 of us. The back garden is lovely and was a pleasure to sit in. We all had a fab week.

  • "We had a brilliant time at The Retreat we used every bit of the house front and back seating areas."

. along with the weather it’s in a perfect location for all the facilities and the beach. Brilliant for kids and fur friends and families. The only recommendation is the upstairs needs a toilet other than that it’s a place we will be visiting many times in the future.

  • "We found the property warm and comfortable."

They had plenty of seating for everyone in all areas. The gardens were really lovely and the back garden was safe & secure for young children. It was however dated and had a few cracked floor tiles, but that did not spoil the holiday.

  • "Dirty and very disappointing."

Cracked tiles in kitchen & bathroom. Cobwebs on lights. Dirty utensils. No bathroom upstairs and no central heating upstairs. Bedroom door removed & propped against wall. Glue patches on settee. No heating or electric or hot water on arrival. Dirty shower. Bathroom shower useless as no water pressure. incorrect phone number supplied for owner. Threadbare mat in hallway and stained carpet. Bathroom window unable to open. Poor fitting front door & draught.

  • "The photos of the property on Sykes Cottages site make it appear larger than it is."

There was a sharp broken tile in the kitchen, a door off its hinges up stairs which was just left leaning against the wall, loose bath panel, poorly repaired sofas which looked horrible, the wheelie bins were full upon our arrival meaning we had nowhere to dispose of rubbish, the chairs at the dining table were in a poor state, there were not 2 washing machines - 1 was a tumble dryer which is actually better, the property was full of left food from previous tenants in the cupboards and fridge, the washing machine had lots of hair in it, I got trapped in the side porch as there is no handle on the inside, the fan in the twin room was thick with dust, female sanitary items were left in the bathroom cabinet, the bottom of the fireplace was hanging off, dog food left in a cupboard, medication left in the kitchen drawer along with syringes (without needles). There was a torn sheet on one of the single beds. I had to wash some of the plates before I could use them as they were dirty, the frying pan was sticky with grease and still had remnants of oil in it. One of the security lights outside lit up the downstairs double bedroom making it difficult to sleep, there was the same problem upstairs in the balcony room as there was no curtain at the window. The hand rail on the steps outside was too big to grip and the rail the other side of the gate couldn't be used as it was all splintered. It was surprising that dogs were not allowed on the furniture as it was all already damaged. All in all, the property was not at the standard the photographs showed, in fact some of it was incredibly dangerous, I feel that I have paid far too much for the stay there and would welcome a partial refund. The property was very clean and comfortable but I will not go again.

  • "Lovely property, overlooking the beach and sea."

Peaceful and quiet, but equally near enough the amenities etc in Mablethorpe. Great communication from the owners. Equipped well, kitchen items, cleaning materials etc. Just a couple of things I would say need adding....... There wasn't a hairdryer. And there wasn't an "instruction manual" for appliances etc, or local information, such bin days, local doctors, pharmacy etc. We had a lovely week, a family 3 adults and 4 older children (teens)
