  • "We stayed over the Easter Break at Willow Lodge."

    We are a family of four with children aged 9 and 12. Willow Lodge was a beautiful getaway and a wonderful place to stay. Clear and helpful directions and a thoughtful welcome guide. Recycling point was appreciated too. The Lodge was very clean and cozy. We really enjoyed eating our breakfast on the decking in the morning, as well as watching the sunsets. Children were happy about the fast WiFi and we used our own log-ins for streaming services on the TV so not too cut off for them. That said, they were very happy kicking a ball about or playing frisbee in the surrounding fields. The field/lawn in front of the terrace decking could have done with a mow but it's very early in the season so I assume it would be done soon (as would washing off the slight green from the decking corners). The village setting was very peaceful. We walked down to the village pub (about 10 minutes stroll along pavements) and had an amazing Indian meal. Loved watching the lambs in the field across the road as well. Easy location to head into Nottingham too. About half an hour drive away. We used to nearest park and ride to go and see the sights. Someone had previously mentioned the towel size so we brought travel towels, but found we didn't need them. If you are expecting large baths towels then maybe bring your own. The lodge was a lovely little quiet and calm place to spend a few days resting and exploring, and we'd definitely stay again.

  • "These 3 units are lovely with such big patio windows that slide wide open to help cool the rooms off."

    As when we stayed the temperature was mainly above 28’c so the light wind was great. We will definitely be using these again as for a relaxing stay this is the place to come to. Also there is a lot of rabbits in the field just below the lodge so could cause a problem if you have a dog and every evening around 6pm there was a fox coming out of the hedgerow nd was not worried about people being there and would walk though and disappear again.

  • "The lodge was lovely in April - the birds were out and we even spotted a few bats a dusk in the trees from the balcony."

    The children played on the field - bring a frisbee, ball or a kite ♥️ The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. Due to the ceiling height you didn't feel too cramped with 4 there. The lodge is well insulated and so even in April it was quite hot on warm days. It was well located near to many National trust properties and only a short drive to many shops and supermarkets. Jane was a wonderful host and couldn't do enough to help. The only feedback was to have bigger towels as we did bring our own bath sheets as the towels were far too small (we read previous reviews). Thank you for a lovely break

  • "The lodge was very comfortable and had a brand new feeling."

    It was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The lodge was in a good location for exploring the area. We had some enjoyable trips to Newark Air Museum, Belton House and Clumber Park (National Trust), Bolsover Castle (English Heritage), Sherwood Forest and Sherwood Pines.

  • "Really lovely lodge in a quiet and picturesque setting."

    Ideal location for visiting Newark, Lincoln and local area. Home from home as had all of the appliances that you could need. Simple checking in and out process and all requirements detailed online or in the booklet in the accommodation. We have family who live nearby and will definitely stay here again for our next visit.

  • "Newly built lodges in a peaceful, quiet setting."

    We booked a three week stay but couldn't stay in the same lodge as they already had bookings so had to move each week. The owner, Jane, was really helpful and ensured the next lodge was available early so there was no waiting around to move. All three lodges had views across the field where there was an abundance of wildlife. The lodges are ideal for all year round occupation - decking area with seating outside for sunny weather and very warm inside for colder days. Instant hot water was a real bonus and the ensuite showers were very effective. Excellent wi-fi connection. The location was ideal, just 10 minutes away from an array of supermarkets and the historic town of Newark and 20 minutes drive to Lincoln, with easy access to the A1. Would definitely recommend, thank you for a brilliant stay.

  • "The property was lovely, in great condition, newly refurbished and well kitted out."

    It is in a secluded and quiet area and we were very excited when we got to see bunnies out the back and horses being ridden out the front. The property also came with a really well thought through welcome information booklet and in general the whole experience was welcoming.
