  • "We loved everything about our stay in the spacious yet cozy Apple Shed."

The place was perfect for 6 adults, all having king size beds and en suites, then a social living and kitchen area. The garden was huge, and the hot tub and fire pit were just a perfect addiction. The hosts were great at communicating and responded promptly when we had a slight issue with the drainage in one of the wet rooms. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, a very enjoyable stay, thank you Jim and Inna

  • "We couldn't find any fire blanket or extinguisher."

Obviously we didn't need it but all other properties we have stayed in have had 1 or 2 items. If not both. The sofa was far to low for all of us. Some couldn't even get on it . And too big for the size of the room we felt. If there was a 6th person at the table we would of had to push the table back up and I don't think anyone would have got through. There was 3 of which had mobility issues which is why we chose the appleshed because its all ground level floor. But we couldn't get down the steps to the garden. A handrail or two may come in handy. And possibly at the front door. Especially for when it is wet . The 2 wet rooms the whole of the floor was rather wet. But apart from a little issues we had a nice time thank you.

  • "A wonderful stay at a lovely cottage."

It’s spacious, clean and well presented. Great to have some kitchen basics like salt, pepper, washing up liquid, soap, tea towels etc. the towels and lines provided were clean and good quality. The hot tub was perfect and enjoyed by us all. We did a click and collect order from the local Tesco, so having a full size fridge freezer was great, especially as the weather was hot and wonderful. We ordered a takeaway one night without any issues, the garden area is a great size and reasonably private. The fire pit was lovely for an evening fire. We were a party of 2 adults, 2 children 17 and 3, and our dogs. We all enjoyed our stay. Thanks we hope to be back next year.

  • "A beautiful area, perfect for our 'girlie weekend', hot tub was perfect and weather was kind."

Only problem was cleanliness, kitchen area was a bit sticky, crumbs all in the cutlery holder, oven was very dirty with dried up dripping cheese from shelves, also only 3 wine glasses for a property that sleeps 6, rest of bungalow was covered in cobwebs, and could have done with some homely touches such as hooks on back of bathroom doors. Finally the 'hot' water in the kitchen never got very hot. Having said all that, the owner was straight round when we had a problem locating the key and sent lovely informative text message before we arrived and lovely feedback text after we left.

  • "Lovely bungalow to escape from everyday life."

Easy walk into Wisbeach yet it dosnt feel like you are in a town, slightly hard to find as no signage on road, close to the Secret Garden where delicious food is served. Added bonus of hot tub that is maintained daily by owners before you wake up. Big garden our dog didn't run away and is large in size but small dogs would be able to get through the bottom of the boundaries and escape. 3 good size bedrooms all with their own shower rooms which was a bonus nice kitchen living room big tv all ameties washing machine, dishwasher fridge freezer etc. Owners next door but hardly saw them but always there to help should you need them. We had a lovely Mon to Fri break would recommed.

  • "I had a wonderful stay at Apple Shed."

The accommodations were comfortable, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The only suggestion I have is to provide a drying clothes rack in the garden. This addition would greatly enhance the convenience for guests. Overall, a great experience!

  • "To be honest the instructions for how to reach the property left a lot to be desired."

There was no sign to say where the property was from the lane. We drove up and down the lane several times and had to stop and ask dog walkers where the property was. We would really like to thank the owners for their help with issues with the washing machine and TV . The apartment was well equipped but there were issues with cleanliness in the bathrooms and a smell of damp. Also the shower floor was very slippery and was danderous for children. Non slip mats would have been advisable. The bedding needed ironing and to be of better quality. The property says it is suitable for dogs but the garden isn’t secure. The owner were lovely but we just felt everything needed better maintenance.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay and had the most wonderful time."

Loved seeing the variety of wildlife we had visit the garden. All room are clean and well presented. We had one little issue which was more Mother Nature then host and that was a stinging nettle right near the hot tub steps so while trying not to slip you also had to watch you did not brush against it. We do have a couple of small suggestions which are only little things like bath matts to place down when exit the shower as it does become very slippery and maybe a hand rail in each bathroom for those like me with mobility issues to hold onto if feeling unsteady. Also maybe a hand rail outside the door leading outside from the bedroom as steps are okay but when I was tired I did struggle a couple of times and friends helped. But omg we loved it so so so much and the peace and quiet is brilliant just what we all needed to recharge our worn out batteries

  • "I would recommend this property and will definitely re-book again."

All rooms are a good size with en-suites attached. The property is so peaceful and the beds comfy, you will have a good night's sleep. There is a restaurant / bar and entertainment a little way down the road (not too far (which is lovely), they also do a lovely breakfast. Hot tub is a welcome extra, oh and the owners, whilst they live next to the property, I only seen them on arrival and just briefly before we left, they are there if needed, but leave you to come / go as you please. Loved our stay, thank you :)

  • "A very nice cottage."

Very comfortable and clean. Not that easy to find and some small issues ( one of the TV controls didn’t work and the water dispenser in the fridge leaked) but a quiet location which suited us. The nearby Potting Shed is excellent for breakfast.

  • "The Apple Shed is a clean and well-maintained property in a private and quiet area."

The owner was friendly and although living next door, did not intrude. The property was light and airy, spacious, and perfect for family or a group of friends. Very relaxing and would definitely go again. Areas for improvement: 1) The property is listed as dog friendly but the garden is not fully enclosed and there was also a chicken roaming around. We suggest putting chicken wire/deer wire around the garden so dogs can be free in the garden. In specifically choosing a dog friendly place, we had hoped the dog could play freely outside. One saving grace was finding a private dog walking field (called Go Mutts) 12 mins drive away which we paid to use and let our dog be free (£10 per hour for exclusive use). The chicken was also a bit of torture for our dog as she watched it through the window. 2) There is no signage from the lane for the property. We suggest putting up a small sign so it can be found more easily. The booking form said to call the owner once we were near; however, we couldn’t get through. We ended up finding the property by mistake.

Plenty of room for 6 people and two big dogs, but still feeling cozy. Beds were perfect, had a very comfortable and peaceful night's sleep. Very clean and had everything we needed. Dogs and children loved the garden plenty of room for them to run around and have fun safely. Hot tub was amazing and a very nice touch, loved spending our evenings in there. We saw Jim the owner onces, other then that the owners leave you to it and aren't obstructive in anyway.

It was very comfortable. The towels were excellent, large and very soft which was so lovely. The owners were very friendly, welcoming and helped to get the main television onto Freeview. The bedroom tv’s needed an aerial to watch Freeview which was fine as we didn’t use them. The photo of the Apple Shed on Sykes didn’t show the close proximity of the owners house as we assumed it was an isolated cottage. Overall I would certainly recommend a holiday there.

Dear Greta, Thanks for your feedback, following your stay at Apple Shed. We are very sorry to hear that the water in jacuzzy was not warm enough during your stay. It is great pitty that you have not contacted us during your stay and asked us to check the water temperature and adjust it . It would be the easier issue to resolve with a simple phone call. After we have learned of the issue, following your review, we have checked the jacuzzy and noted that the jacuzzy is working fine , but somehow the temperature control was reprogramed.
