  • "I could not fault any part of our stay at Lavender Cottage."

    The Cottage itself was beautiful and clean with everything you could need for a break away. I was blown away by all the attention to detail to enhance your break away and make it special. Witham on the Hill is an hidden gem with amazing scenery, great walks on your doorstep - perfect for dog walks, and is only a short drive to surrounding towns. Our host Niki was wonderful and so attentive to ensure every part of our break was perfect. I have already been recommending the cottage to friends and family and We will definitely be returning for another stay.

  • "What a wonderful property renovation."

    Super big kitchen diner. All super clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our week exploring the local area and particularly the cycling around Rutland Water which was one of our main reasons for booking this property. Very helpful and friendly host. Loved it and would highly recommend.

Lavender Cottage is a simply beautiful, stone-built abode settled into the countryside village of Witham on the Hill, near Stamford and Rutland.

With stunning interiors and a whole host of amenities to cater to your needs, this is an ideal property for friends and families looking to explore the wonders of Lincolnshire.

Park up on the pretty floral driveway and make your way into this stunning property.

Enter into a contemporary open-plan living space, sporting bi-fold doors allowing in swathes of natural light, a stylish bar space for creating hearty meals, and a whole selection of amenities available at your fingertips.

This space has a dining table where guests can enjoy a meal together, as well as a handy utility and cloakroom.

Following on from this space, settle into the tastefully outfitted sitting room, offering a woodburning stove to warm your feet in the cooler months.

STAMFORD

Oakham 10.9 miles; Uppingham 12 miles; Peterborough 15.7 miles.

This wonderful stone-built Georgian market town is thought to be one of the finest stone towns in England. Famous for its use as Meryton in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice film, the town offers an excellent variety of independent shops, recognised retailers, character-rich pubs and range of restaurants. There is also a weekly market every Friday. Take a stroll to the banks of the River Welland which winds its way through Stamford and enjoy some lovely walking and an abundance of wildlife. There is a great deal to enjoy nearby with a huge range of attractions in and around Stamford, with the beautiful Elizabethan stately home of the Burghley Estate, a variety of golf courses and Rutland Water to name a few. This charming, bustling town offers an excellent place to stay whatever the time of the year.
