• "Bari was everything we wanted it to be and we were so lucky with the weather."

  It was a fantastic base for us to explore the area and Aberaeron itself. We had an issue with the shower in the en suite which was fixed the same day which was great. The only thing we could see that may need improving is the left hand side of the 2 seater sofa seems to have lost its stability a bit and and there were quite a few cobwebs and dust webs above eyeline the main one being behind the front door. Other than that it was perfect, would definitely book again and recommend to friends and family.

• "We were disappointed to find the harbour under major construction main reason for booking Aberaeron was the crabbing in the harbour for my grandson I think we would have chosen another part of Wales had we known."

  Pleased with the facilities also the location of the house. I think the time line for access to the house could be improved not being able to gain admission until 5pm is really late considering you have to be out of the house at 10.00am.

• "Normally feedback is an easy task and we have used Sykes several times and this is the first time I’ve felt the need to be negative."

  Bari is in a good location in the super little town of Aberaeron, with easy access to the A487 to get to other destinations easily on the Cardigan Coast. The property was clean and tidy inside. Unfortunately there are many issues that detract from being able to fully enjoy your holiday. So…. the small kitchen had 2 main spotlights out making it darker than it should be as very little natural lighting. Also, the under counter lights did not work and the light above the hob did not work either. These were reported on day one, but not fixed. Just a note at this point is that there was no welcome pack and it is the first cottage over recent years where there hasn’t been. This is a relatively cheap but very appreciated touch. From the kitchen you exit into the back area which has a rusty table and chair set in the main part. However I had to weed the flags in this area before we could use it as some were a foot high. The rest of the garden further down is massively overgrown. Also, the neighbours kitchen directly overlooks this area , even if a makeshift screen has been put up, it is still intrusive and not private. The whole area is grotty and not relaxing to sit in at all. One further note on the “garden”, a low fence meant that a neighbouring dog was able to access our garden and worried and unnerved our 2 older dogs until it was chased off. Back inside, the bedroom light shade had been removed and was found broken in a wardrobe, the broken arms of the shade were left on the cable hanging from the ceiling. Add to this the loose toilet seat in the main bathroom. And finally, we knew it was on road parking before we arrived, but please be prepared to park up to 100+ yards away after you’ve been out for the day as it is limited. Without been able to relax in nice surroundings outside during the evening we sat in the small living room each night, we decided to leave early and vacated the property on the second to last day of our stay. Quite a bit of work needed here to make this an acceptable holiday home I’m afraid.

• "This was our third time staying at Bari, mainly for the great location and the fact we can take our dog."

  The members of our party that slept in the back bedroom weren't that impressed with the comfort of the beds - they could feel many springs and indeed hear the springs when they were in bed! I think the mattresses may need changing? Again there were no recycling sacks or food bags, so I went and get some from the county hall (not something I should really have to do when I'm on holiday but it wasn't out of our way so no great shakes). A calendar for when the rubbish goes out would also me useful otherwise you have to look it up on the internet. Otherwise everything was great, the improvements made since our last visit looked good and it was very clean.

• "We love Bari."

  Our 3rd stay, this time over Christmas. The house is so well equipped it’s like home from home. We had asked if there would be a Christmas tree and were told no, but when we arrived there was one and a fabulous Christmas welcome pack. The house was very clean and so warm. We had a fabulous week. The location, so close to the harbour, beach and beautiful town is perfect.

• "The property needs improvements."

  There was black mold on the silicone in the shower and black spores on the ceiling, the bath panel was all cracked, looks like it had been taken off to fix the tap. The toilet seat was so loose we were nearly falling off. The twin room, one bed had stains on the duvet cover, the other, when stripping the bed on leaving day, there were dried yellow stains on mattress protector. There was thick dust everywhere, don't think sofa has ever been moved to be cleaned underneath or behind. The front door if you don't have the key shuts behind you and are locked out, luckily Sykes got in touch with owners who had a spare key. There were no recycling bags left out for us for rubbish day. It is the only place that I have ever stayed that have never left a small welcome pack. The only good thing about the property is location, however if I think these issues are sorted, it would be a lovely property

• "Initial impressions were very good, the house is superbly situated and close enough for any shopping and restaurants, let alone the splendid views over Cardigan Bay."

  Once we’d settled in on the Sunday evening however, we noticed a very distinct odour in the living room, which we put down to dogs. There were several air fresheners and candles on the mantelpiece, but what the room needs is a deep clean, and possibly the carpet to be replaced. We ended up buying several of our own candles to make sitting in the living room bearable, it served only to make us spend our evenings away from the house. We were aware that the property was pet friendly prior to booking, and having stayed at various properties where pets are welcomed this was a little surprising. One or two other minor points which need addressing, the bath panel being cracked and ill fitting and the fan for the bathroom does not work in the shower, where grouting between tiles has mould ingress. Finally, the toilet seat is too small and discoloured in the same bathroom. Positively speaking, the decoration and exterior are well maintained, and the property has all you’d need for a good sized family holiday. The layout of the house is quite charming.

• "Had a wonderful week at Bari, so quiet & relaxing!"

  Very well equipped home from home, lovely welcome pack left for us - bread, butter & welsh cakes, thank you! Also lots of basics in cupboards although we had bought our own. Bed was so comfortable & great little garden to enjoy too! Love the area, been coming since childhood. Bari is perfectly located to enjoy Aberaeron & surrounding area. Walked along river to Llanchareon, short drives to New Quay & Aberystwyth & many more lovely places very nearby. Free parking was always available nearby or paid car park a short walk will be useful in busier periods. Sad to leave!

• "We love Bari."

  This was our second stay. The location, so close to the sea, harbour and town is perfect. The house itself feels like home from home. The kitchen is so well equipped, there’s everything you could need. The garden is dog secure which is such a bonus. One small observation, we slept in the front en suite room and although the bed is very comfortable, the fitted sheet isn’t deep enough so as soon as you get into bed it pings off the corners, taking the mattress cover with it. We kept waking up on the mattress itself. That could be easily rectified. Anyway we will try to get back again next year.

• "Bari deserves a top rating."

  However, and please note this is not a criticism, only an observation. There were clothes pegs but no clothes line, there were no tea towels and there was not a non-slip mat despite there being 2 showers and a bath.

  Just a small bottle of milk would have been appreciated as a thank you for us booking their holiday home and wouldn't have cost much. The oven floor was dirty and greasy and the kitchen floor could have been cleaner

• "Second year staying at Bari, couldn’t have a better location!"

  The town, sea front and harbour all on your doorstep. Bari is looking a little tired this year, particularly the outside but well equipped, clean and comfortable. Still no clothes airer/washing line - this would be really useful for families after beach days!

• "Our second time staying here - the location is fab and we can bring our dog too!"

  Has all the facilities you need, the garden is a sun trap and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If I could make any improvements I would like the info folder to have more up-to-date info in it - I only knew when to put the rubbish out by looking at the council website - plus there was no black box for the glass. There is also quite a few lightbulbs needing replacing, didn't really bother us in the summer but just fyi. Would also be good if there was instructions on what to do on the last day. Oh, and there was a distinct lack of mirrors - the main bedroom just had 1 tiny mirror and nothing in the ensuite which wasn't great for my parents.

• "Bari was a lovely well equipped and spacious house."

  We slept in the en-suite room and the bed was very comfortable. We were so close to the sea and a short level walk to town. We were able to park outside every day. Just two suggestions for the owners, there was no mirror in the room we slept in and the exterior of the house is tired and doesn’t reflect the interior. Other than that we had a lovely stay and would recommend the house. We have stayed in a lot of dog friendly holiday let’s and this was probably the best.

• "The directions given were out of date as another person had mentioned owing to a new one way system being implemented."

  The web site said there was a dishwasher - if there was I never found it. The situation on recycling was nor very clear and no bags were left to utilise. I contacted the cleaning company on the second day and one bagwas delivered. I obtained the other bags from the council offices later in the week. I also notified the cleaning company that thre main light in the lounge had 4 dead bulbs in it making it difficult to read in. Despite being there for 2 weeks they were not repaired and I didn't think an elderly person should even attempt to repair them. Otherwise everything was spot on and a lovely place to stay in.

• "Unfortunately our bedding was blood stained."

  We requested clean bedding and it arrived quickly. There are hardly any pans or bowls, to cook with. The one and only frying pan needed washing. The arrival pack needs up dating especially with addresses of Drs, dentist, hospital, and vets. The instructions for waste disposal very poor.

Unsure why it has taken over three weeks to write your review when any problems could have been rectified immediately. All our previous feedback has never highlighted any of these issues. • "We had a great weekend break here."

  Really enjoyed the house. Although the weather wasn't kind the house was very warm (which was much appreciated) and comfortable. 3 very good-sized bedrooms - and we all slept well. Good kitchen facilities and outdoor space at back was very handy for the dog. Aberaeron is a very nice little town and would also recommend a trip to New Quay.

• "Showers especially the one in family bathroom."

  Need cleaning properly. Orange scum on sides of shower enclosure. Also the black in corners needs addressing. I know this is difficult. But it hadn’t been even wiped for a very long time. Yuk.

• "Bari is in a wonderful location, just a stroll to the sea front and harbour town although we did struggle to find parking."

  The town gets very busy during the day with visitors taking road parking up. Come evening we were able to get the car closer to the house. The house was very comfortable and the kitchen in particular very well equipped. The courtyard was a lovely spot to relax with a glass or two! A washing line or clothes horse would have been useful for drying beach wear. The bed linen in main bedroom was too small for the quilt/bed so a bit lumpy and bottom sheets wouldn’t stay put, but we managed and the beds themselves were very comfortable. All in all we had a fabulous week at Bari!

• "This is a great house!"

  Location is all… literally could not be better! Great to have 2 bathrooms very spacious! Parking easy got a spot on road every time! Facilities ample! Kitchen spotless, could do with a lamp in the lounge but just being picky! This house is permitted a dog so we expected it not to be immaculate and a few marks on carpets didn’t bother us at all.. Aberaeron has lovely restaurants and a few pop up bars! Brilliant holiday! Would we book again without a doubt! Highly recommend!

• "First impressions: Bari looked a little tired from the outside."

  Now forget that. The cottage was well furnished in good taste. Very clean throughout, a credit to the cleaners. The kitchen was really well equipped (need more wine glasses). The little backyard was a suntrap. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was good to see a little chair in each bedroom. The two bathrooms were fresh and clean with plenty of hot water. The utility room and extra loo downstairs was a bonus. Overall we would give Bari and Sykes 11 out of 10. Would love to go back. Aberaeron is such a picturesque and friendly town.

  There were no instructions on how they wanted the property left on the last day (bedding & towels). Pillow were a bit hard. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. It was a great location and it had almost everything we needed.

• "The cottage was excellent."

  The local authority have now introduced a one way system around the roads leading to the cottage. This is to allow people to keep soacil distancing. it took us four trips around the block to find the cottage when we arrived - needs noting on the instructions you send out. otherwise a great break.

• "The cottage and location were both beautiful."

  I honestly can't think of anything else that the cottage needed to make it welcoming and the facilities were fabulous. Very comfortable beds,kitchen had absolutely everything needed to cater for ourselves and the milk,butter and Welsh cakes left in the fridge were very welcome. We will definitely return to Bari, and look forward to trying out some of the other locations and cottages on offer

• "Bari Cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived."

  We felt quite safe. It is situated near to all the amenities in Aberaeron. It is extremely well equipped. The only thing missing was somewhere to hang the washing. We loved sitting in the seaside garden. We would certainly use it again.

• "Parking was a issue ."

  No bin bags or dish cloth .Dirty/fatty oven tray found in oven .Crumbs between sofa cushions .I think there are areas of improvement needed in cleaning .But saying that depends on how much time the cleaner is allowed Bin bags by back door smelt. Need a bin or perhaps two .
