"We had a lovely time at the Shepherd's hut, and in terms of comfort, furnishings, equipment, outdoor space and privacy, the accommodation would rival any cottage."
Set back from the road, and screened by mature bushes and trees, it was the perfect place for a relaxing stay with good parking and access from the road. It was brilliant having 2 separate huts and both were very spacious and generously and thoughtfully equipped with everything to make our stay comfortable and cosy. The outside space was just as good and the garden was lovely with various seating areas, BBQ, fire pit and very private. The location was perfect with the beach, golf course and Aberdovey train station within easy walking distance. We also walked from the beach to Aberdovey (30 mins) and Tywyn (approx 1 hour). Aberdovey itself was lovely, and we enjoyed excellent food at the Indian restaurant (cash only) the 'Coast Bistro' and fish and chips from 'Walkers'. The pubs were very friendly as well. We really enjoyed our stay at the Shepherd's hut and hope to return again in the future.

"We loved this amazing holiday."
Kay and Jeff had gone beyond a regular cottage. The sleeping hut had a TV, an enormous bed, cooking facilities, shower and wood burning stove. The second hut was fully furnished and beautifully decorated. The large kitchen had every appliance imaginable. The large TV and the wood burning stove made it very comfy indeed. We did have a problem with leaving the Shepherd’s Hut and would not hesitate to return in the future.

"OMG, what can I say?"
Kay and Jeff have an absolute gem of a place here, a 5-minute walk to the beach , a 5-minute drive to shops and food places, great fish, and chip shop !! That's the area sorted now for the best bit the hut and the living area including the patio area and garden are AMAZING, we have been to a few huts now, mainly in Norfolk but this place has just blown us away, we had a little hamper on arrival it was clean and decorated to a great standard we had a week in the hut and the weather was amazing considering it was 1st week in September we needed to get away and recharge this place certainly gave us that opportunity I can't reccomend this place highly enough absolutely great hosts and lovely part of Wales we will be returning for a short break again maybe next year well done kay and Jeff 5 stars 110%

"A beautiful property with a wildflower garden that provides tranquility."
5 mins walk to the wonderful beach and sand dunes which are heaven for a nature lover (Oystercatchers, Common Terns, Gannets, Common Lizards, Porpoises and lots more). Just an excellent place to stay.

"There is a lot of space for a couple."
A small bedroom / shower room in the "shepherd's hut" and a add on kitchen / living room on the side. There is a generous amount of usable space outside and many seating options - a swing seat, a table and chairs, a bench with a coffee table, another table and chairs, two loungers on the lawn, two loungers by the stream and a bench by the stream. All of the furniture - inside and out - is in good shape However you want to sit around - in the sun, out of the sun, inside, out, etc etc there is an option. For a couple of days it was quite rainy but we were comfortable in the living room area I think the description of the walk to the beach says 20 minutes. I would say it is more like 5 minutes over the dunes. We could not see the sea from the hut but we could hear it! The beach is amazing, wide, golden sand. When the sun sets, it is over the sea Generally it is in a good place to use as a base, Cader Idris is a short car ride away. The train station is a 10 minute walk

"For us the welcome pack was too big."
We don’t eat that many sweet treats in 6 months! Would have preferred the cost of the stay to be reduced instead as the items were costly. Otherwise, a great stay in a lovely spot.
-
"The Shepherd’s Hut was great - very comfortable and well equipped."
The garden is lovely and has so many seating options for all times of day. The welcome pack was extremely generous which was much appreciated. The location is perfect for walks into wonderful Aberdyfi, via the golf course & beach and there’s easy access to other local walks too. For an improvement, a few hanging hooks in the bathroom/Hut would be useful :-)

"We had a wonderful relaxing week"
-
"Wonderful location."
Beautiful garden with many seating areas. Generous welcome hamper. Great restaurants nearby , train ride to Barmouth worth the views. Only downside I was suffering with back pain so getting in & out of bed not easy, One needs to be a little younger & agile , but comfortable accommodation .

"We didn’t want to leave beautiful place Thankyou for our goodies"
-
"Excellent well situated and well equipped property."
The concept of the Shepherd's Hut with the adjoining cabin makes for a comfortable, cosy environment with the important extra space. The two quality wood burners make this a great all year round property. The outside space is exceptional with ample parking and lots of useful areas to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Garden furniture, barbecue, firepit and pizza oven all add to the enjoyment of sitting out.

"Our 2nd holiday at the Shepherds Hut in the last 7 months, stayed for a week each time and just booked again for October."
Delighted with all this property offers. It's clean, warm, cosy and very comfortable too. Extremely generous welcome pack on arrival which is much appreciated. Ample outside and inside space for 2 people. Many kitchen/garden heating/cooking appliances to use if you wish to. Aberdovey is a lovely village which has so much to offer visitors. Great beach, superb walking, nice pubs, cafes and restaurants with a few shops and friendly locals too. Highly recommended.......it feels like home and we're already looking forward to returning. "We had a very pleasant stay."
The weather was rather changeable towards the end of the week but we were still able to go for a number of excellent walks. Regarding the property, the bed was huge and very comfortable and we soon got used to the single access side. There were many cooking devices some of which we used. We did not need to use the wood burning stove because small electric radiators provided enough heat to warm either room very quickly. All other amenities in the property were fine too. The welcome pack was very welcoming. Aberdovey beach is wonderful and easily accessible. We didn’t quite make it for a swim because the wind was very strong a lot of the time, but in more clement weather, it would certainly be on our to-do list. So all in all a most invigorating holiday

"Wonderful venue."
We are organic principled in our cottage studio workshop and garden so enjoyed all that was provided. Loved the placement of the venue and enjoyed a walk into Aberdovey every day and a walk back along the beach.
-
"We loved the shepherd's hut and appreciated the goodies left for us."
Everywhere was spotless and bedding and towels good quality The provision of beach towels was a thoughtful touch. We loved the garden and all the delightful sitting areas although during the very hot weather a garden umbrella would have been useful. It was at times difficult to find any shade. We got used to the traffic noise and loved the winding path down to the sea and almost deserted beach. A gem of a place and we hope to return.

"Beautiful property in a lovely location walking distance to beach and Aberdovey"

"This is a lovely retreat so clean and with great facilities."
So unusual to stay in a Shepherds Hut. Highly recommend if you want to get away from it all.
-

Close to town plus easy walking access to beautiful beach.
-
"The owners left us an incredibly generous welcome food pack."
We had a problem with the key but Geoff came over immediately and was very kind and helpful. Again when a bulb stopped working it was sorted straight away. Would definitely go back .
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
It was a beautifully appointed Shepherds hut. The garden was stunning and perfect to sit out in in the different locations around the garden. We loved Sweetie the cat. The only slight negative was the noise from the main road and railway at certain times of the day. Perfect location for exploring the coast and Snowdonia national park. Thank you!
-
"Really enjoyed this accommodation, it was quite different to our usual type."
everything you could possibly need was provided. the welcome pack was excellent and the gardens well kept with lots of seating available .
-
"We really enjoyed our stay in the Shepherd hut, it was clean, comfortable and had a fantastic welcome pack."
The location to the beach was great, a 10 minute walk and we were there for an early morning swim. We will be definitely be back again. It would be advisable to book local restaurants before you arrive, the good ones were all booked up.

"Fantastic little getaway!"
! We will 100% be visiting again, loved every minute of it. Above and beyond all expectations we had , and the welcome package upon arrival was heaven sent. The pictures do not express the pure beauty of this holiday location. With unexpected private garden with a wonderful stream and plenty of seated area's. Me and my partner would reccomend this holiday to anyone who is looking for a quiet weekend or week away, close to the beach, waterfalls and hundreds of beautiful woodland walks. We also tool a trip to the CAT (Centre for Alternative Technology) which was gorgeous. 10/10. And the little hut itself was wonderful had every kitchen appliance imaginable !! 100% Recommended.
-
"A lovely little place with every amenity you could think of."

"Comfortable and well-maintained property, exactly as described."
Pretty garden - not shown in the pictures - and great location on the outskirts of Aberdovey. 5 mins walk to the beach, and easy access to lots of lovely inland walks too.
-
"This is a very cosy and romantic place to take your loved one."
It is local to good shops and restaurent (and the famous Talyllyn Steam Railway) whilst giving the impression that you are in a remote and quiet place full if birds. The wood burning stoves are great for a warming boost and the kitchen has so many gadgets you'd have to stay for 2 weeks to use them all! The welcome pack needs special mention - it was exceptional with enough in it for a luxurious Brunch with cake and champagne! Have booked again for May 2020 - Simon and Lorna

"The Shepherd's Hut was perfect for us."
In a great location on the edge of Aberdyfi, it is very well equipped, has great character and charm and the garden is fantastic. Perfect for relaxing on good-weather days. There was a very generous welcome pack too. All in all, we felt very much at home there and would definitely book the same again.
-
"Shepard's Hut comprises 2 buildings and was no problem in good weather but might be a bit of a problem if wet and windy."
It has a lovely garden with lots of butterflies and is very relaxing place to stay. The beach can be reached in 5 minutes and Aberdovey is a 20 minute walk.
-
"Lovely accommodation that's a little different."
Great facilities. It lacked nothing.
-
"The Shepherds Hut was very well equipped."
The owners left a most generous welcome pack and we would definitely recommend this holiday let. The location was great with easy access to the sea and mountains. Certainly good value in October.
-
"Beautiful accommodation."
Booking easy and efficient.
-
"The owners of the Shepherd's Hut were very friendly and left us an amazing welcome pack."
The Hut is not as close to the sea as we were led to believe; we had to cross the road, a train track, a golf course and sand dunes. We were very comfortable and both sections of the hut were amazingly well kitted out, with a lovely spacious shower in the bedroom section and full kitchen and lounge in the other hut. It wasn't as clean as we would've liked, the windows being grubby, but we were there at the end of the season and the places that mattered most such as the fridge and bathroom were spotless. We had a great time here and recommend it thoroughly for a romantic getaway or just a relaxing holiday, especially for walkers and anglers (the Dyfi estuary fishes well). One more thing- You do have to move outside to from one hut to the other which can be a pain in the rain!
-
"The cottage was absolutely lovely in a great location for beach and South Snowdonia."
We had a wonderful holiday!
-
"Absolutely beautiful part of Wales, we will definitely be returning ."
The shepherds hut is amazing, the owners left us the most generous welcome pack, even including a bottle of champagne which we drunk sitting on the swing while watching the sun going down! Wish we booked the whole week!
-
"The Shepherd's Hut/Cottage was really lovely and comfortable."
The wood-burners were perfect to create warmth and cosiness to our rainy holiday, the living room/kitchen was comfortable and inviting to spend lazy relaxing days indoors. The Shepherd's Hut was beautifully located in a quiet area close to a village so it was easy to access shops and restaurants. The kitchen was really well stocked with cooking equipment. We had a brilliant , relaxing holiday and would be happy to return to Shepherd's Hut in the future.
-
"A lovely experience and totally different from the normal cottage holiday."
Highly recommend.
-
"Welcome pack excellent, very cosy and well presented would like to have met owners."
It is situated in a great spot for touring around great scenery, only thing that let it down was the weather but this time of year it is to be expected.
-
"Another amazing stay that we didn't want to leave."
Accommodation was as fantastic as the first time -so well equipped and beautifully maintained. Roaring wood fires instead of eating on the patio but still a wonderful break away. Sleeping listening to the waves crashing on the shore. If only we could have stayed...
-
