  • "We had a very enjoyable two-week stay at Willow Cottage."

The owners were very helpful. The cottage is comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen, good shower and comfortable bed. There are good laundry facilities. The location was ideal for us being a short drive to the coast and with nearby excellent forest and hill walks, some of which were on the doorstep. Devil's Bridge is a short drive away. We would recommend the walking at Hafod (National Trust). We stayed mid September and found the roads very quiet. We were also very fortunate with the weather and were able to sit outside in the garden on a number of evenings.

  • "Cottage was clean and tidy but not warm and welcoming , sofa very uncomfortable, garden was unusable as it was a lot smaller than on photo and overgrown so couldn't sit outside on garden chairs provided, photo on line make it look a lot larger than it actually is ."

Due to an emergency at home we had to leave early so messaged host to let them know, had no response whatsoever which I found quite rude , as instruction was to leave key in door when departing so don't even know if they got key safely. Some acknowledgement would of been appreciated.

  • "The furniture is not antique it’s just old and tatty."

Bed was very comfortable but duvet was lumpy and cover was awful. Bathroom was excellent although hot water was not always consistent. Garden is very overgrown.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Willow Cottage."

It was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. We loved having outdoor space to sit in and make the most of the sunny weather. The WiFi was fabulous - we’ve often had rather unstable signals at other holiday places which can be very irritating. The location was excellent for access to the coast as well as many lovely walks which we were able to do from the cottage. We had a very restful and relaxing week.

  • "The cottage was mostly as advertised."

Very good modern bathroom. Grateful for the welcome goodies such as milk, eggs and welsh cakes - thank you .Some of the furniture was not to our taste such as the industrial bedroom units, and the bed divan drawers as an alternative could not be opened adequately, so we left out clothes mostly in their cases - I appreciate that others would find this ok. It does say that it is on the southern bank of the River Ystwyth but one cannot access the field to get to the river as the garden does not give access? A big negative for me however was the noise that came in to our bedroom late at night from next door? I believed from the photo that the cottage was detached - perhaps wrongly, however loud operatic music and TV sounds were coming in to our bedroom each night until about 11pm - I did not want to complain as I did not know if it was a family member who also lives on site and it is was it is I guess. If it was a guest then this would not be an issue in future perhaps? All in all it was OK, but I would prefer a cottage in its own grounds in future

Thank you very for coming to stay at willow cottage. We are very sorry that your stay was not up to your expectations. I am very glad you enjoyed the welcome pack. The cottage next door to yourselves is also a holiday cottage. I'm sorry the music had kept you up but I have very little say in what other guests like to listen to or do. If you had knocked my door and informed me I would have rectified the situation for yourselves. The river is not accessible from the garden at all you would have had to access it from the main road. In the leaflets in the information pack in the cottage left for you explains how to access the beautiful river. I'm very sorry that some of the furniture was not to your taste as you can imagine it is hard to accommodate everyone's taste. Kind regards, The Old Dairy. Property Owner

  • "Willow Cottage is a lovely little cottage in a tranquil location."

Parking is easy right outside the door. We visited lots of local villages, towns and attractions. As well as Aberystwyth I would recommend visiting Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre to watch the red kites being fed, National Trust - Llanerchaeron and Aberaeron which is very very pretty. We would love to return later in the year when the heritage and cliff top railways are running. Thank you for a lovely staycation.

It was lovely to meet you. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again sometime. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at Willow Cottage, although it was a little further away from Aberystwyth than we thought."

We weren't able to use the courtyard garden very much, mainly due to the weather. The owners have given the cottage an industrial look, as seen in the photos, however we personally weren't keen once there and using the items. Just a couple of points we would make, the bathroom is lovely and modern, however a little more care needed with cleaning the tiles in the shower and the overflow to the wash basin. (Black mould growth), and the shower caddy/storage for shower gel etc was starting to rust (replacement required). The other point was, we had a lumpy duvet and 2 of the 4 pillows were also lumpy and also in need of replacement. We did enjoy our stay in what is a lovely area of Wales.

I’m very sorry you were not as close to Aberystwyth as you thought ,I’m also very sorry the duvet and pillows were not to your satisfaction . If you had come to see me I would gladly have changed them for you. I have had no other complaints . Glad you enjoyed your stay overall . Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely holiday at Willow Cottage."

We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay in a beautiful part of Wales. Given how cold the weather was while we were there, the fantastic wood burning stove was such a pleasure and made our time in the cottage so cosy and welcoming. Aberystwyth was nearby, so an ideal location for shops, eating out and great coastal walks. We also discovered lovely local walks from the door. Our host Lindsey was so welcoming and helpful. We could not have wished for more. Thank you!

A new bathroom, a good kitchen with lots of pots and pans, cookbooks for inspiration (in our case anyway). The surrounding is quiet and that is nice. The lady of the house was very friendly. We felt very welcome there.

  • "We did appreciate the kitchen and bathroom facilities very much."

We were staying at the cottage during extreme heat and were very concerned that none of the windows in the living area and bedroom were able to be opened because the way the blinds had been fitted prevented this. We were given a fan which did help to circulate the air. We would have appreciated having draws in the bedroom for our clothes.

Thank-you for your feedback. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay in willow cottage . There are drawers in the divan bed with plenty of room for your clothes if more space is needed other than the two hanging units. The windows in the kitchen and bathroom open and in the sitting room has two barn doors for opening at the top which would allow plenty of air to circulate. Unfortunately i cannot control the weather. Property Owner
