• "We visited in October and we are definitely going to return!"

  We loved our apartment, it was clean & tidy and also the local area was perfect. We could get to so many places within a short drive down scenic country roads and returning to the calmness of the apartment after a long day with a lake view was perfect. Beatrice our host was really friendly and helpful.

• "I love this place of absolute paradise - you can completely get away from real life."

  I have already booked two different weeks here next year. I love dipping in the lake, sitting on the balcony with a good book or my crochet, and watching the wildlife. Beatrice is so friendly and helpful. It is a place of complete rest and relaxation.

• "This must be one of Bala's best kept secrets, what a little haven to relax and unwind in."

• "Drysgol was a lovely, peaceful place to stay."

  We particularly liked the view over the lake (visible from both the living room and the bedroom), and one evening we also had a spectacular view of the stars. We had not used a combination oven before and would have preferred a hotplate for some of our cooking. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. They responded very quickly when we needed help with something in the apartment.

• "What a gem of a place very tranquil - the views over the lake are stunning and the grounds beautiful - a lovely walk into Bala and although the weather was not the best it didn’t stop us going for walks."

• "A fabulous place to go to for a retreat from the busy world."

  I had a lovely break with lots of reading, sewing, crochet and of course swimming in the beautiful Bala lake. Bala itself is only about 20 minutes walk away so it easy to pop into for lunch or a coffee. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. I have already booked to go back next year as it was wonderful.

• "This is a little piece of heaven."

  The apartment is beautiful and ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break. The balcony sits right on the lake shore. Perfect. The photos don’t do Drysgol justice. I’d definitely go again. Beatrice was a superb host too, nothing too much trouble.

• "This property was clean and well equipped."

  It has a beautiful view of the lake in both directions and is very quiet (unless the RAF fancy low flying runs but that was just one day. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

I understand there are 13 RAF bases in Wales, nearest RAF base is 44 miles away. If the chance comes, I think it is something to watch, cherish and experience. • "Thank you for a lovely holiday at Drysgol."

  It really is the most peaceful and beautiful location and the apartment is spotlessly clean and everything is of a excellent quality and very comfortable. For any guest like us who like to cook their own meals they should be aware that there is no Hob so you need to plan meals that can be prepared using the Oven/Grill/Microwave cooker provided. The one thing I will mention is the access stairs are fairly steep and has no windows so in my opinion the lighting does need to be significantly improved but this did not detract from us having a fabulous holiday with perfect weather.
