  • "We had a very enjoyable time at Caerffynnon Bach."

The rural location is ideal - one can walk up into the hills from the kitchen door, and yet it is only a five minute drive to the shops at Dyffryn. Excellent clean accommodation, and lovely owners nearby.

  • "We have just returned from a week’s stay at Caerffynon Bach & had an absolutely wonderful time."

It really is a home-from-home holiday experience. The welcome of fresh flowers, cakes & milk in the fridge were a lovely thought & the a personal visit by the owner’s Mum to welcome us was such a lovely gesture too. The cottage is absolutely stunning & is the perfect place to relax & enjoy a quiet holiday away. If you like sheep this is the perfect place for you! There is nothing better than listening to them baa’ing at night & they are so friendly & inquisitive. All your needs are catered for, the kitchen is as well equipped as your own kitchen, the owners have thought of everything. Books & puzzles are there for the rainy days & the views & landscape are to be enjoyed on the outside patio seating area. Good location for exploring - we bought fish & chips back from Barmouth for tea one night & they stayed nice & hot after the journey home! We will definitely be re-booking in the future.

  • "A fabulous stay in a remote cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay."

We enjoyed fantastic views of the surrounding hills, in a quiet, undisturbed, beautiful location, with the company of birds, sheep and cows, and the occasional tractor! There's lots to explore in the local area, especially if you like walking or cycling. One tip, we did a week's main shop in Porthmadog before we arrived, as there's no main supermarkets nearby, although there small convenience stores about 10 minutes drive away (about 30 minutes walk). Our stay was restorative and we're looking forward to visiting again! We loved it - it was one of our favourite holidays ever.

Quiet, peaceful, thoughtfully and comfortably furnished with views of both mountains and sea. Sitting on the terrace for a drink or a coffee was gorgeous and even the window over the kitchen sink had a view to die for. The local shop(2miles down the road) has a first class butcher and anything else you might need. The walks in the area are beautiful with the added interest of stone and bronze age burial sites. My only doubt about recommending it is that it may not be available if we want to book again!

The cottage was lovely and so luxurious, finished to such a high standard inside and out. The garden was so tidy and well maintained, it was so peaceful and the views of the hills to the east and the sea to the west were beautiful. The kitchen was fantastically well equipped and it was a pleasure cooking in it. We loved the decor in the living room which was so cosy. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was one of the best I've used. The owners were lovely, a lot of work has been put into this cottage and it shows - a real gem. Nearby we visited Llanfair slate caverns, which was great, there is also the world's steepest street nearby in Harlech, which has a lovely ice cream shop next to the castle. Benar beach and Barmouth beach are nearby which were both nice sandy beaches where you can see some lovely sunsets. Barmouth itself is great for a day out, with plenty of great shops for a bit of shopping. Shell island campsite is also only 15 minutes away which offers so much entertainment and exploration, it's great that you can enter as a day tripper if you are only visiting. Zip World Fforest is under an hour away too, we really enjoyed the forest coaster. Snowdon is also not too far away, and boat trips are run from Barmouth when in season. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at Caerfynnon Bach. Lovely cottage in a great location.
