  It had all the facilities we would have hoped for and the owners were really nice, friendly people and they made us feel welcome. The Farm is located in a central location in Snowdonia, so ideally suited if you like walking in the mountains, there’s lots of choice! It’s definitely on our list of places to go back to.

  The cottage was very well maintained with the bedrooms, kitchen and living area all at a very high standard. Any issues or questions we had were sorted straight away and we'd all definitely come back again! Definitely a bonus for us that we stayed in lambing season and got to see all of the babies in the field from the windows

  A very friendly host provided a lovely welcome pack and was at hand for help if needed. Well equipped cottage, the downstairs utility room a very useful space for storage and drying wet shoes and coats.

• "Lovely cottage."

  Clean and well appointed. As the owner told us it’s pretty much 20 minutes from anywhere you’d like to go! Coed y Brenin Forest Park is very close and great fun and for EV drivers the car charging in the park is free although it didn’t work properly on our last day. There is also charging in the main car park at Dolgellau.

• "Brilliant base for a walking holiday with hosts who are on hand if you need them but allow you to enjoy the cottage and facilities in privacy."

  The welcome pack was a welcome touch and the outside spaces were a great place to enjoy a quiet drink soaking in the sun and views of mountains we had walked. Hendre Cottage is full of character with all mod cons. A special thanks to our host for her friendly and professional support on arrival and exit. Looking forward to our next visit.

• "This is was our second stay in the cottage, which is was generally very clean and well-equipped."

  Other major advantages are next to a main road (no narrow lanes) and good mobile signal. We were a little disappointed that the DVD player mentioned in the listing was no longer available, since the TV had been upgraded to a 'smart' TV, and we also had problems with the fridge, but we pointed this out to the Owner, and we are sure this will have been sorted. We hope to be able to return.

• "A beautiful setting, watching the lambs whilst stood at the kitchen sink was a treat."

  The property itself was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The hosts were perfect, offering help if we needed it but not at all intrusive. A very thoughtful and delicious welcome pack was left for us. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

• "We have just got back from a wonderful week at Hendre Cottage."

  It is situated in a lovely location surrounded by the Rhinog mountains. It was a delight waking up to those views every morning. The cottage was very comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. The host was very attentive and friendly, and on hand if we needed her. We would highly recommend this holiday stay.

• "Just got back from another wonderful stay at Hendre cottage."

  The hosts were fantastic and my daughter loved collecting eggs from the farm (and the lovely farm cats). Great facilities- large utility room storage area for our paddle boards and a fantastic lockable building for our mountain bikes. Everything we wanted to do was within 20 minutes of Hendre cottage, with Coed-y-Brenin only 3 minutes drive away! We can’t wait to return!

• "A lovely cottage in a perfect location for cycling and walking, and also for being able to reach either the coast or the beautiful Snowdonian mountains within a 30 minute drive; there are some challenging mountain passes to drive or bike along, rewarding those brave enough to take on the challenge with breathtaking scenery!"

  The great location even allowed us to spend a day in Anglesey after having visited Caernarfon, and the dark sky around the cottage was great for stargazing through the velux windows, in the comfort of being indoors with wine in hand! The owner was warm and welcoming without being intrusive and was very quick to respond to questions prior to and during our visit. We found everything we needed in the cottage and the welcome hamper of eggs, milk, tea and treats was a lovely touch. We will definitely be returning to Hendre Cottage again soon!

• "Good comfortable cottage."

  Right next to a A Road but hardly heard any noice, can get used to it. Owners live right next door, very helpful. Not much to do around the area, there's the Forest park about 5 minutes away but everything else is around 50 minutes drive. Around 35 miles like the main areas, Bala, Betsy Cwoyd, Cricceth, etc.

• "It was a beautiful property with lovely views of the mountains."

  The house was so clean and we had everything we needed. The showers were excellent and beds very comfortable with cosy duvets. The lady who owned the property was so welcoming and helpful and my children loved the farm cat who would rush to come and get some fuss from us all. We got to see a little bit of farm life with the sheepdog rounding up the sheep and the calves coming to be fed their grain in the field. All in all it was a wonderful stay at Hendre Fawr.

• "The cottage itself was beautiful."

  It was very clean and decorated and furnished to a high standard. We had a very warm welcome on arrival and even a basket of extras in the kitchen.The owners were particularly warm and welcoming. As my wife's father was from the area, we formed a lovely bond with them. We would highly recommend this property as it is right in the middle of all the wonderful attractions that the area has to offer.

  The owners were extremely friendly and my granddaughter enjoyed collecting the eggs with Mrs Jarrett. The cottage was very comfortable and catered for all our needs. The location is ideal for visiting Porthmadog Black Rock Sands Steam Railways and Castles. We intend to return for future holidays and would strongly recommend this cottage. • "We had a very warm welcome from the owner including a lovely homemade sponge cake, she gave us information regarding places to visit along with a wealth of leaflets left in the cottage for us to use."

  The cottage was clean and beautifully presented with everything needed to make your home away from home. The position of the cottage in relation to the A470 meant that the whole of Wales was easily accessible, it's a great base surrounded by breath taking scenery. If you want to be able to see and visit forests, mountains and the beach it's the perfect place to stay.

  Our children were able to feed the hens and help collect their eggs which was a new experience for them! Location was perfect ( very close proximity to Coed y Brenin which is where we were each day!) and the bike storage facilities were good too thus making our holiday even more relaxing as a result. • "Hendre Cottage is a lovely small barn conversion with great facilities, extremely well presented and is perfect for a family of four, two couples, or three people if two are willing to share a room."

  The cottage is situated next to the owners house on her delightful smallholding. My friend and I found the location, which is literally 4 minutes from Coed Y Brenin Trail Centre, to be ideal as we were riding bikes the entire weekend. It would be ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy the spectacular scenery of North Wales. The owner is a charming and helpful woman that went so far as to loan us her slow cooker so that we could leave a meal cooking whilst we went riding. There are a couple of points to make that I feel people should be aware of. Firstly the cottage is next to the A470 which is in regular use, even during the night. I am a light sleeper and wish I had bought my ear plugs, if you are a light sleeper I suggest you do the same. Secondly, there are a few very curious cats in the area, if you have any allergies to cats then I suggest having a discussion before booking.

• "The cottage is perfectly situated in the heart of snowdonia just off a main road which was handy for quickly getting to where you needed to go but certainly not a problem with traffic noise."

  We were made very welcome with cake and eggs by the owners who have a working smallholding with cows sheep and chickens. The cottage itself was nicely decorated and furnished to a very good standard with everything you need and more, a real home from home. We really enjoyed our time in Wales and wouldn't hesitate in coming back in the future.

  The owners were very welcoming and kind towards us and welcomed us home with a batch of delicious, home-made chocolate brownies, yum! The cottage was cute and very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing holiday in the indoors, as well as outdoors. The living room had a range of fun boardgames and a variety of leaflets proudly displaying all the amazing local and distant places you can go and explore in Snowdonia, from mines to adventure central parks and farms. Outside of the cottage is a small working farm with chickens, sheep, cows and even a cute ginger kitten called Macky with her mummy! We had a fantastic holiday here, exploring the beautiful countryside locations and relaxing in this warm home. Thanks to the wide range of activities and fun, we were always kept busy and every day was another adventure through the many wonders of Snowdonia! Thank you very much for everything, we will definitely be considering rebooking this holiday!

  The cottage is so easy to find due to a great location, easily accessible and about 30min away from bigger towns/shops/some places to visit. Our cottage was modern, very tidy, cosy and warm. We felt welcome from the very first minute as the owner met us on our arrival. The owner is extremely polite, friendly and will take care of you well. She checked out if we had everything we needed, but was not interfering with the rest of the stay, which I think was great as we could relax and enjoy our holidays! The view through the window was breathtaking: we had a barbecue outside while enjoying the view of the mountains! I would highly recommend this holiday place.
