  • "We have just had a most wonderful relaxing stay."

Jill and Ian are fantastic hosts and so patient. Always there if you need them, whilst affording you the privacy and relaxation that you need on your break. The bed was so comfortable and it was lovely sitting on the balcony watching the birds and the lovely view. The hot tub was an added bonus which was enjoyed every day. Would definitely recommend this property.

  • "We had a very pleasant stay despite the bad weather meaning we could not make use of the outside facilities which looked very good."

Jill was very friendly on the phone and, despite her living next door, allowed us much privacy. There were many thoughtful touches such as the welcome basket. We look forward to booking again in the future.

  • "This is by far the best place we’ve stayed in Wales."

Comfy, modern and full of little luxuries, that make the holiday that bit more special. The owners were on hand when we had a small issue, which was rectified straight away

  • "This was our 2nd visit to Penylodge so we already know that it’s a very cosy property and suits any weather conditions due to great interior and exterior space which is more than adequate for two persons and a pet."

We love the added touch of a balcony off the bedroom with great views over the village/town. Location is one of the most attractive features with access to local pubs and supermarket in less than 5 mins. The owners are really welcoming and they ensure everything is OK with the hot tub on a daily basis. We love a hot tub (despite the ambient temperatures being high 20’s this year (so we probably didn’t use it as much as the first time we visited). We just enjoy chilling out when the weather is hot and this accomodation is perfect for that as well as being a great bolt hole if you enjoy driving around to see some great parts of Wales. Many many thanks for the hospitality shown by Jill and Ian.

The property had all the facilities you need for a s/c stay, the hot tub being an added bonus and was cleaned each day. Owners were on hand for any issues encountered. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

  • "A beautiful place to stay."

Lambs in the fields opposite, daffodils and primroses everywhere...spring was definitely in the air! Accommodation great and very peaceful. Highly recommend at least one visit to the Elan Valley where it was just us, the sheep and the skylarks. Good fishing and walking too. We booked a week and wished it were two!

  • "Absolutely fantastic place to be, will be definitely returning in the near future."

The owners were very friendly as were all the local residents. Easy access to local facilities like a supermarket 5 mins down the road and town center a few minutes more. There is a lovely river going right through the area as well if like me you like to fish. The views were better then we could of ever imagined and it was a real shame we ever had to go home. Also what was really good is the place is dog friendly and the owners provided a dog care pack just what we needed as we forgot her ball. We had the time of our life and we absolutely can not wait to go back!!

  • "I surprised my fiancé by taking her here for a 2 night break and we had a lovely couple of nights."

Our hosts Jill and Ian were very welcoming, even popped round to show us how things worked. They also left us a personalised welcome message with some essentials and treats (for the dog as well); which was really thoughtful.

  • "Our holiday started off with a few problems but Jill and Ian went above and beyond to sort everything out for us!"

The cottage was clean and very comfortable and the big screen was a great bonus. It was like having your own cinema! We really enjoyed our stay and it was very peaceful. The only bad things were the issues we had at the start and the fact that the lodge wasn’t as equipped as we thought (no dishwasher tablets or washing powder provided). We would definitely stay again :) Thanks again both x
