  • "We have been visiting Cae Lecci for years."

....even before it was revamped. The location is fabulous with the stream and the mountain views, yet only a 15 minute drive from Dolgellau....the four gates to open and shut notwithstanding. We loved the upgrades. My partner proposed to me whilst we were watching the sunset from the hot tub. I accepted, of course! But after our visit in October, may we suggest no more additions to the cottage now please. The pods are a bridge too far and interfere with natural ambience (and views from the hot tub) of the cottage. It's enough now. Most visitors now have everything they need!!!! Must give a shout out to the excellent cleaners and Roy, the property manager, who is responsive and helpful always.

Thanks for your kind comments. We are thrilled to hear that you got engaged whilst at the house.! One of our family had their wedding party at the house many years ago and the surroundings and the river made it a fairytale experienc. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to the possibility of you visiting us again. Once again, our congratulations.! Property Owner

  • "The property was really well equiped and we felt at home straight away."

The location is fantastic and a great get away from our normally busy lives. It is in no way a criticism but we thought the pod was unnecessary and not in keeping with the surroundings. We would love to go back.

Thank you for your comments. Several guests in the past said because the views over the river and mountains are so great they suggested an outdoor seating area so we installed an open pod with the far reaching views over Cader Idris and the enclosed pod next to the river. Whilst the pod is modern and I do understand your comments it does make a great place to sit in bad weather and still enjoy the outside. I see you have booked for next year and we will welcome you to the house again. I hope the weather is great when you stay. Property Owner

There was plenty of room for everyone. The views were amazing - a really peaceful retreat.

Thank you for your lovely comments. We have added a 10 person pod now so one can eat and relax overlooking the river no matter what the weather is. We have also added a 6 seater covered wheel bench higher up the site so you can see the views across the valley to Cader Idris. We hope to welcome you again soon. Property Owner

Very well equipped and most of all it’s in the most stunning location. The river running past and the sheep all around are beautiful.

Thank you for your lovely review we are glad you enjoyed your time there. The location lets one relax and take time out from everyday life. We are installing an outdoor pod in late April so guests can sit out enjoying the view no matter the weather. We hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property."

The outside area was beautiful. We had to give the hot tub a clean as when the jets had been on for a few mins the first time there was a good amount of scum possibly it hadn’t been used for a while. It’s states the property is pet friendly however in the written rules pets are only allowed in the kitchen and a hefty fine would be issued if any trace was left anywhere else in the house. All in all we had a lovely stay taking advantage of the family games available.

Thank you for your comments. However your comments regarding the hot tub are somewhat strange. At the end of a guests's stay the hot tub is emptied fully, checked for damage, and the filters cleaner and rinsed or replaced if required. The tub is then completely cleaned including jets, sterilised and then filled with clean water. So the arriving guests do not have to wait for the water to warm up the engineers use a preheater for the water which means the guests can use the tub as soon as they arrive. Without any exceptions whatsoever this is done at the end of each Guest stay. We do not simply recirculate the water ever.. Regarding pets, we have a full menagerie of our own so know visitors regard their pets as family. However some guests can be allergic to animals so we respectfully ask that pets are restricted to the kitchen which has a tiled floor. If guests allow their pets elsewhere we have to undertake a full strip down of the property which means we are charged for that by the firm that handles the changeovers. We hope that did not spoil your stay and look forward to the possibility of seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "We did find a couple of dead rats outside during our stay which we disposed of."

Absolutely lovely cottage with fantastic facilities, would really benefit from some sheltered outdoor seating for the winter months as it’s lovely outside in all weathers! Slightly disappointed to find out after booking that dogs must remain in the kitchen as I know mine would have loved to enjoy the fire of an evening! Completely understand but I think should be pointed out in the listing, there isn’t much space in the kitchen for dogs beds as well as boots etc.

Hi I am glad you loved the house. I will look into some suitable shelters for the outside.Under the house information we do ask dogs are kept in the kitchen as that is a tiled floor and easy to clean. Also sometimes dogs can leave an odour after being in the rain and it is difficult to remove that odour prior to the next guests arriving. Thanks for your feedback and we look forward to you staying again. we are pleased to say a 10 person pod is being installed overlooking the river so guests can take advantage of the beautiful grounds no matter the weather! Also a 6 seater wheel seat is being installed higher up behind the property so guests can sit and see the views across the valley to Cade Idris. Property Owner

Cae Lleci is a lovely property set in a beautiful area of Wales. The garden with river running through was lovely as were the walks surrounding it. The house was very clean and comfortable The table football was a bonus with the three boys. Maybe a few more table games would be good. An excellent property. Neil.

Thank you for your great feedback. Glad the boys liked the football table. I will see what other games are available. We hope to see you all again. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "We all had a brilliant holiday with good weather, the house was so secluded & peacefull with the patio by the stream allowing us to have meals outside using the pizza oven."

The cottage was comfortable & well equipped with lovely views towards cader idris & the surrounding countryside with the pretty stream running through next to the house. We only had one problem when whoever cut the grass allowed their dog to upend the bins & spread the waste everywhere & throw an empty drinks can down by the gate, no idea where the chicken carcass went!

Thank you for your feedback. I have passed your comments onto the gardener although not sure whether they have a dog. It may have been a fox in that case. Thanks for letting us know and I hope it did not spoil your holiday. Property Owner

This has been the ninth time that we have stayed at Cae Lleci and we have enjoyed every one. The improvements made have been worthwhile though we would have still holidayed there had it been as it formerly was. I would suggest that a possible addition to the kitchen equipment would be a steamer.
