  • "The cottage was ideally located to explore Bishops Castle on foot and was warm, comfortable and well equipped."

Adrian was an excellent and very informative host, meeting us on arrival, and quickly responded to any queries. We could recommend the Schoolhouse Brewhouse and would come again if returning to Bishops Castle.

We had all we needed, everything was very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. The car stayed parked for the whole duration as we explored Bishop's Castle on foot. We renamed this ancient, tranquil Shropshire village BC - Before Clocks, as the whole atmosphere is very laid back. Particularly enjoyed the garden, The Three Tuns' excellent food and the soaring red kite whilst viewed from the hot tub. We would definitely return and hope to next year. Thank you so much Adrian for the gift of total relaxation.

Everything from walks, cycle routes, shops and food. He seemed to appear if we had a question but equally never noticed him otherwise. Flat is quiet and private and everything easy too find and use and laid out very well. Highly recommend for cycling although always a bit of climb start and finish.

The apartment is very family friendly. Little things such as children’s plastic plates and cutlery are a huge help. Access to a hose for cleaning walking boots, games and puzzles (which we got stuck into!) and an abundance of maps available for walking. Shops and eating amenities walking distance. The hot tub was fantastic after a big climb up the hills. Adrian was lovely and very helpful. No issues at all, would highly recommend and hope to visit again. EV charging out in the country was a huge attraction to us! It allowed us to explore further. The whole family loved this stay! Thank you :)

On arrival, the owner greeted us and provided us with knowledgeable information about the area. The cottage is very spacious and homely with everything you need to hand. The vast selection of board games came in useful as unfortunately we had a lot of rain but still managed to make good use of the tennis courts and hot tub! Bishops Castle centre is a 2 minute walk and has an exceptional pub and hotel close where the serve very good food.

Owner met us at the property and went through everything with us. Lovely man and knowledgeable about the area. The property is very well equipped and spacious for us 4 adults (2 couples). Beds were very comfortable (for us) with spotlessly clean bedding and towels provided. Hot tub was amazing - we made very good use of this! Welcoming local pubs - serving food-within a few minutes walking distance. Private garden lovely to relax in and just listen to the birdsong. Overall, we had a lovely relaxing break and were very happy with everything. If there is one thing that could be improved upon then the shower cubicles need a bit of TLC around the bases i.e. the sealant around the trays needs to be replaced. The showers themselves were just fine - it’s just a finer point perhaps to note for the future. We would certainly visit again ☺️

It was lovely to have the garden, hot tub and tennis court which we used every day. The house is in a prime location and the village is lovely, with plenty of pubs serving good food. There is a large window with a partial view of Long Mynd which was nice to stare at. Furnishings are ok if a little dated but beds are comfortable and the owner is friendly and helpful. Adrian, the owner was lovely and made us feel so welcome. It had everything you needed- salt, pepper, slow cooker, toastie maker, washing up liquid, games and jigsaws. I've been to other lodges and never had the amount of equipment or little extras that this place had. We had the sun loungers out in the garden, played tennis on the tennis courts and enjoyed the hot tub. The area around was a bit hilly but was fine to us. There's also a big childrens park at the bottom of the hill if it's a dry day. We loved our stay here! Well done Adrian!

The bedrooms are of a good size, both en suite with showers. The garden is small but enclosed and includes a hot tub which is quite big. The surrounding area is very picturesque and we had a lovely week visiting the local sites of interest. Bishops Castle is an old quaint village with a good supply of shops. But beware it is very hilly and quite a climb from the cottage to the top of the village. However persevere and it will be worth it. The Three Tuns is worth a visit for food and the brewery next door which provides the ale!
