"Two spacious bedrooms for a family of four or two couples."
Having a log burner was a great treat. WiFi is patchy throughout the house but that didn’t bother us. Off road Car parking is a few steps up from the house behind a gate so felt secure. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!
-
"We had a lovely few days at Quarry House, the cottage itself is immaculate, clean and very well equipped."
We had great comms from Zoe to let us know the place was ready and also some nice goodies as a welcome pack. There are excellent woodland walks from the door, the surrounding countryside is very quiet and peaceful, but Oswestry is just a short drive away and well worth a visit. Thank you for making it such a great stay!
-
"A very well equipped place to stay in a quiet location."
although a little remote it is only a short distance to many local attractions
-
"Another fantastic visit to Quarry House, again every thing was perfect."
Ideal base to visit National Trust Properties and beautiful Chester.
-

-
"Delightful cottage in very quiet setting."
Lovely outside sitting/eating space. Inside v comfortable and well equipped. Very friendly owner who visited on first evening to check all ok.
-
"Our second visit."
The house is perfect for us - exceptionally well equipped and comfortable - perfectly clean and in an excellent position for long or short walks from the door. We'll be back I'm sure.

"Fantastic stay, would highly recommend"
-
"Clean, comfortable, well equipped cottage in a beautifully peaceful location which we appreciated for a relaxing week."
Appreciated the welcome goodies and welcome visit from Zoe.
-
"A lovely cottage in a very peaceful location about 10 minutes drive from Oswestry."
The property was exactly as advertised; it appears to have been fairly recently renovated to a high standard, and had quality fixtures and fittings. It was very clean, and the owner very friendly. The WiFi was a bit temperamental (one day out of our 4 day stay it didn't work at all) but that's not unexpected due to the location, and you get no 4G or phone signal inside the cottage due to the thickness of the walls. The cottage was well equipped, though there was no chopping board in the kitchen so you have to chop things on the glass worktop saver, which has led to all the knives being blunt. Also, there is no shelf or rack in the shower cubicle, meaning you have to put toiletries on the floor and if you use soap, not only does it dissolve, but you end up chasing it round the floor. But these were minor inconveniences and didn't detract from the enjoyment of our stay.

"Fantastische Cottage!"
Alles in dit huis is fraai, bv de schilderijen/foto's aan muur. Heerlijke bedden, mooie kamers, box met informatie over omgeving en wandelingen. Een week is tekort om alles in omgeving te doen.

"Lovely cottage very clean and well maintained we had a great time"

"My wife came downstairs on the Friday of arrival and had a quite serious fall which required a visit to Shrewsbury A&E on the Saturday."
Serious ligament damage and possibly has bone fragments behind her ankle. The stairs were carpeted apart from the bottom tread which was bare wood almost the same colour as the flooring. My wife stepped onto the bottom tread and stepped forward thinking she was on the floor and stepped into fresh air and fell forward crashing into the wall and injuring her ankle. The owner was informed of this hazard and her response was at best glib.

"This is a lovely detached cottage."
Very cosy. Added bonus of 2 sitting rooms. Owner, Zoe, met us not long after we arrived. Very nice lady indeed. Milk, wine and chocolate biscuits left. Log burner was laid, with a basket full of logs left. We only used this once and was roasting. Kitchen is well laid out and has all the utensils you need. The utility room is great and having a washer and dryer a plus . Spotlessly clean Our only negatives because we are quite particular is:- Towels too small, bath sheets would have been preferred and a full size hand towel as those little towels don’t wrap round the head for hair washing purposes Pillows need replacing., had to use the cushions on bed for extra support underneath them. Would benefit a proper shower over the bath, our fellow guests used our shower instead . Cottage sits on a very quiet lane amongst a small number of other properties. Delightful babbling Brook just the other side of the boundary. Grounds are very well maintained and laid with stone. We did love our week here, and was sad to leave. Despite the few negatives would thoroughly recommend Quarry Cottage.

"Beautifully refurbished, excellently equipped, spotlessly clean cottage in wonderful location."
Very helpful owners and lovely welcome pack on arrival.
-
"What a wonderful home from home cottage property."
Zoe is a wonderful warm host, who keeps the cottage spotless, attention to detail in every aspect. We had a marvellous time with our best friends. We will certainly return. Thank you Zoe, and Sykes Cottages who made the booking easy.
-
"A lovely host and a fantastic cottage, can't fault it, the facilities are first class, 3rd visit and will go again"
-
"Absolutely lovely cottage with every amenity."
Host was lovely (thankyou for the goodies, very kind). Lots to see and do around the area. Chirk was an interesting town, and Chester was delightful. Station at Gobowen takes 30 mins and is free to park. The evening log fire was very relaxing.
-
"My recent stay at this charming cottage was absolutely delightful."
The cozy atmosphere, combined with the breathtaking surroundings, provided a perfect retreat. The cottage's amenities were impressive, and the hosts' warm hospitality made me feel right at home. I highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing getaway. Can't wait to return!
-
"We had a fantastic Christmas at the cottage."
It had everything we needed, clean, cosy and warm. Loads of places to visit especially Attingham Park near Shrewsbury which was decorated for Christmas. I would recommend this cottage to anybody. In fact already booked a week this year.
-
"A lovely cottage so clean comfy and warm."
Sitting in front of the log fire in the evenings was wonderful. We visited many places around Oswestry including the British Ironworks Centre which had amazing sculptures and interesting craft stalls. All in all a most enjoyable week.
-
"Absolutely first class accommodation."
High quality finish, fixtures and fittings. Very comfortable and quiet. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you.
-
"This is a lovely property, very well finished and kitted out, spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable."
It is a bit off the beaten track which we enjoyed as it was very quiet, dark skies at night for star gazing and listening to the owls. There are many nice places to visit within an hour's drive and lots of good places for food nearby. We had a very relaxing week, thanks Zoe and David.
-
"Excellent all round , clean , very Quiet, everything you need for your needs."
The only slight downside was water pressure at the basin in the shower room but that apart still 10/10
-
"Myself, husband, sister and brother-in-law have just spent a week there and highly recommend Quarry House in Nantmawr (in fact we did, to a couple over from the USA who were driving by), so handy for all the places we visited."
Met the owner who was lovely and helpful with info on walks nearby but unfortunately we ran out of days to do them. It’s a 10 out of 10 from us.
-
"We had a fabulous stay at this property."
Everything is to the highest standard. The location is perfect and we had a fabulous week exploring including a super day in Anglesey. Zoe popped in after we arrived and was very friendly. Would highly recommend Quarry House-we loved it! Thank you.
-
"This was a beautiful place!"
!,We had a lovely stay, really clean and the owners were kind and helpful. The cottage had everything we needed, beds were really comfortable. Only thing we found was maybe a big soft sofa in one of the rooms might go down well instead of the leather, but that's just a personal thing. Overall it was fab, even spent an extra night!!!.. Thankyou. V.Ainsworth.
-
"A beautifully restored cottage."
We thought it would be extremely remote but pleasantly surprised at the location being easily accessible and within an easy drive to Oswestry as well as being central to places of interest. We found everything we needed although a larger fridge /freezer would have been beneficial as well as a shower screen and wall fixing for the shower over the bath. Apart from these minor details we would certainly recommend the cottage.
-
"Such a beautiful location."
A beautiful property, everything we wanted was already there. Thank you you made us really welcome and we would love to visit again.
-
"This was our third stay at Quarry House, which suits us admirably."
It packs a lot into a relatively small cottage with two sitting rooms, a large dining kitchen, utility room and downstairs WC. Upstairs there are two decent sized bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities and comfortable beds. The setting is pleasant and peaceful. Rural, but a short distance from good roads, The owners are very friendly, pleasant and helpful. I am sure we will return.
-
"An idyllic cottage in a beautiful rural situation."
Very quiet & peaceful. Lots of places to explore nearby. Owners extremely kind & helpful.
-
"Really lovely cottage pretty much every thing that’s needed for a weekend away, warm comfortable with lovely log burner ,we did cook while we were there and found pretty much everything that you would need a garlic crusher would have helped but didn’t cause us any problems ."
The only thing that could help as we did encounter were the kitchen knives could have been a bit sharper. If your used to a good firm pillow then we would advise you to take your own as the bed pillows were very thin .
-
"The cottage was excellent in every respect."
We were provided with a large supply of logs for the wood burner which we greatly appreciated and used every day. We found the cottage very warm and easy to heat and keep warm. I personally found the king-sized bed a little too soft but realise that it's personal preference. It was a very good holiday despite a lot of rain.
-
"A beautifully maintained cottage with everything you could need for a few days away."
Beautiful location on the doorstep of beautiful walks and scenery as well as close to all amenities you might want in the neighbouring villages and lovely town of Oswestry.
-
"The place is just gorgeous and Zoe very friendly."
It was a marvellous place to stay for Christmas, very easy distance to Shrewsbury and Oswestry. Hoping to return soon in better weather to be able to appreciate the countryside a bit more.
-
"Fabulous cottage, immaculately clean, beautifully renovated to a high standard."
Would definitely recommend a stay here.
-
"I could not have found a better location for my wife's birthday break."
Immaculately presented cottage. Zoe and Dave had thought of every comfort.
-
"Lovely property in a beautiful quiet setting Well maintained and looked after ..."
Lovely property in a beautiful quiet setting Well maintained and looked after Clean and tidy with all amenities of home Couldn't ask for anything more Host was great popped up to see if we had settled in but then left us alone to enjoy our stay Enjoyed our stay in the area but quarry house made it a bit more special
-
"Lovely dark skies cottage, could have spent a month here, not just a week."
It’s a bit isolated but that was totally fine by us, and there are some lovely local walks. House itself was nice, well equipped, plenty of living space, and good parking too. It’s just a wonderful place to spend summer evenings, very nice. Only tiny negative - the bottom step is a bit slippy, we had a couple of incidents with it.
-
"Excellent property in a quiet rural position, yet within 10 minutes of the facilities of Oswestry."
The owners are friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. The cottage has a well designed layout providing a large, well-equipped dining kitchen, two sitting rooms plus a utility room with a downstairs WC. Upstairs there are two decent sized, comfortable en-suite bedrooms. This was our second time at the cottage and we really enjoyed our stay. We would be happy to return.
-
"A beautifully renovated cottage in a very tranquil location - excellent walks from the door in all directions."
The house is very tastefully decorated and furnished, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was perfect for us.
-
"Absolutely outstanding and a much needed break for the wife and I."
The fortnight took in our 50th Wedding Anniversary and a Regimental reunion at Oswestry RUFC. The House is fantastic well located with great facilities and could not wish for better. We are leaving a day earlier as 9.30 departure time is a bit too early for us oldies. But that being said it has been fantastic. Thank you
-
"Lovely cottage in a great location."
Spotlessly clean and everything you need is supplied. One of the best holiday cottages we have been to.
-
"A gorgeous property , well maintained and in a beautiful quiet setting."

"We found the cottage to be warm and comfortable."
It was very clean, well-presented. and had everything we needed. Our children enjoyed having a lounge of their own! The owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Many thanks.
-
"Excellent property."
More than exceeded our expectations. Close to lots of interesting villages, landmarks and places of interest. Particularly enjoyed towpath on Montgomery Canal and Powis Castle grounds and the deer there. Welshpool has some good shops such as a Tesco and there are some artisan bakeries and coffee shops there. Shrewsbury is great for more in the way of eateries and restaurants Good shopping there too. Lake Vyrnwy is well worth a visit as is Stapely Hill and the stone circle there. Kerry Ridgeway and the Shropshire Way around Clun are also good for walks. Very well equipped cottage. Spotlessly clean. Great that there's 2 TVs and two sitting rooms. Good wifi. Very pretty location. Would heartily recommend cottage to anyone. Owners live closeby. The cottage is well represented in the pictures.
-

Set in a quiet country lane it was very peaceful .The shropshire county is a great area to explore and away from busy city traffic, a great place for a break.

-
"Really lovely place to stay, very clean and felt like new inside."
Home from Home. Brilliant place to stay. quite location. Had a lovely walk from the cottage. There is lots to do near by. Book it! You won't be disappointed.
-
"Quarry House is a beautiful, well maintained and well equipped property set in peaceful surroundings."
It was everything we hoped for and more for this much needed break (postponed from last year for obvious reasons) There are wonderful walks right from the doorstep or just a short journey away. There is a lot to see and do in the area in general although we tended to stay away from areas of population, sticking to walks and trails in and around local woodland, canals, a reservoir and such like. I would highly recommend the property and the area and would love to return to explore further once life becomes more normal.
-
"Not criticisms, but suggestions."
It would have been beneficial to have had a parasol over the patio table, as we were unable to dine outside in the sun. Also, an extra towel rail in both en-suites are needed to dry the lovely big bath towels provided.
-
"Located in the peace and quiet!"
Relatively easy to find and accessible to other places. Beautifully clean and well appointed. Plenty of space for those that needed some peace or wanted to do something different. Lovely outdoor area to take advantage of the sunshine. Great opportunities to walk from the doorstep.
-

"We arrived at Quarry House in the middle of Storm Dennis and were greeted by David."
The house was warm and cosy and there was milk in the fridge and a freshly baked cake for us as well as a basket full of logs for the wood stove. Everything was immaculate and very well equipped. We did have an issue with the internet due to the storm, but David and Zoe kept us fully informed of when the repairs would take place (it was a loose wire outside of the property), so we couldn't have asked for anymore from them. The cottage is situated in the quarry where it was out of the winds. When the weather is warmer it will be a lovely place to sit out on the patio on a warm summer's evening. It is well situated for exploring Shropshire and Wales and we found plenty to do over our 6 days, despite the weather. Treflach Farm is worth a visit, their pies and sausage rolls are lovely and handmade. Zoe and David have obviously put in a lot of hard work to the furnish the house to a high standard and deserve full credit for the work they have done. We will be returning and will also recommend them to our friends.
-
"Quarry House is just wonderful."
Peace and quiet and in a beautiful setting. The owners are kind and friendly. So much to do in the area but the cottage is so comfortable it’s also nice to spend a day hidden away. Everything possibly needed was provided and the entire house was spotless. I can’t wait to return.
-
"The cottage was very good, clean, all facilities were exceptional, the owner met us on arrival, gave us the key, on was very helpful."
We went to this area to have a good look round, we went to the waterfall in Wales, Attingham park and Powis castle, all very good.
-
"Quarry House was furnished and equipped to the highest possible standard, it was warm and welcoming and has everything that could be needed, there was tea, coffee and milk provided also a complementary cake and bottle of wine."
Access is easy and nearby there are pubs and a small shop, Oswestry has leading supermarkets and a range of independent shops. I am happy to give Quarry House the highest possible commendation
-

"What a wonderful cottage."
It truly was a home from home. Surrounded by trees we had a peaceful week with friends. The owner was very friendly and showed us round this beautiful home and left a tasty treat for us, lemon cake, milk and wine. Beds were comfortable, super power shower, kitchen well equipped, and cosy living room. A must to visit is, Llangollen canal, horse drawn barge trip, steam train with a lovely cafe, and the beautiful promenade and pier of Llandudno, it really is worth the journey.
-
"We stayed at this wonderful cottage for a few days whilst attending a wedding."
The cottage was in a great location, it's been beautifully restored and we would go back without hesitation. The owner came to find us on arrival as we'd taken a wrong turn, then left us to enjoy the area and the home from home they've created. A great place to stay.
-
"The cottage is a credit to its owners, no expense spared."
We had a lovely 2 weeks, exploring Shropshire. The TV reception leaves a little to be desired, but it didn't detract from our enjoyment of the holiday.
