  • "We stayed at this cottage for one week during May half term with a family of 6, the house and garden is lovely and in a great location, the closest supermarket is 25 minutes drive."

Unfortunatetly the shower over the bath had very low pressure which made it virtually impossible to take a shower especially for my two elderly parents, the neighbour did bring round a new shower head which didn't make any difference, a new shower and pump is required, the bathroom is the only room in the house which has not been modinised and still has dated flower wallpaper. Some of the furniture in the house is quite dated along with the commode chair in the master bedroom which the kids found quite amusing.

Superb Fish and chips only a few minutes walk, as is Harlech Castle. Bungalow has a great “entertainment space” extension/orangery across the rear with lovely patio and garden area. Good base for touring the area and ideal for family. Would book again.

  • "Lovely clean, well equipped bungalow."

In a quiet location. Just a short walk to the beautiful Harlech Castle. A few small shops in the area to buy ice cream or essentials. Good communication with the property owner. Had a lovely restful stay and would recommend to others. Would be a wonderful place to stay for people who love to walk stunning scenery. Probably a 25min drive to the nearest Tesco, Aldi or Lidl in Portmadog. Lots of places to visit if you fancy a drive out to see surrounding areas.

The responsive owners provide a comfortable and well equiped bungalow with a super garden and off street parking. It's location a few minutes walk from Harlech's facilities and Castle is hard to beat. The local beaches including the stunning huge Harlech beach and nature reserve are a must but access to Barmouth in 20 mins and all the south coast of the Lleyn Peninsula in a maximum of 45 mins make this place a great base for a holiday. Many Thanks Celia and Tony.

  • "Communication with Celia was great before and during our stay."

As there was no one in before our arrival she allowed us to enter the bungalow early which was a bonus. On arrival we were greeted with a clean house and a lovely welcome package including Bara Brith and milk for a cuppa after a long journey. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clyd Fan in May 2021. It is well appointed with everything you need for a lovely break and has that home from home feel. The conservatory is great to rest and unwind in as is the garden. There is the relaxing sound of bird song and although you are close to the centre of Harlech you feel as though you are remote. The property has a great sized lounge with Netflix and a new king size bed which was very comfortable It’s location is great, close to a fish and chip shop and a Chinese takeaway, a minutes walk for a great view of the stunning castle and coastline. The property is literally a couple of minutes walk to the castle and a 15 minute stroll to the coast, maybe quicker if you walk down the world's steepest street. The property is in a great location to explore Snowdonia and all it has to offer. We would definitely stay at Clyd Fan if we were to return to Harlech.

  • "The location was excellent."

So much closer to the centre than we realised, which was great with an elderly member in our party. The kitchen was well equipped. The washing machine and tumble dryer were a helpful addition. The twin room really needed a curtain to block out the light in the morning - there was no curtain or blind and its frosted glass door opened onto the large, sunny conservatory (also without blinds). The weather was much better than anticipated and we could enjoy the glorious nearby sandy beach. We had a nice stay.

We also walked down to the beach which was well worth the trek through the sand dunes. The house was well furnished and had everything you would need and more, very comfortable. Celia's little touches certainly made you feel very welcome and at home and was easy to contact, should you need to.

There were just a couple of things we mentioned to owner regarding switch which needed replacing and a mirror in twin room which she was happy to look into. Otherwise Well equipped bungalow. Extremely quiet and peaceful bungalow and area. Great location. Off road parking for two cars which was good. Garden well equipped too with table and chairs which was great.

  • "Off street parking was a real boon."

Very spacious accommodation with a great garden. Had a plumbing issue, due to previous, inconsiderate guests washing beach sand down the bath plughole and causing a blockage. Sorted very quickly by the owners and a plumber, although we wasted a morning waiting in for him to clear the problem. Wherever you're staying, please don't swill sand down a plughole...it doesn't go anywhere and creates problems. All furnishings very comfortable, although the double bed felt slightly narrower than a normal double - it may also be that I'm accustomed to a king-sized bed, so I might be wide of the mark.. One minute walk to Harlech High St, less than five minutes walk to Harlech Castle. The time we spent there was mostly in the enormous kitchen/conservatory, which has more furniture than the average house, along with Velux windows in the roof (electrically operated) and a view over the rooftops of Harlech to the Llyn Peninsula. The kitchen is also very well-equipped, including a dishwasher, washing machine and a tumble dryer, although you'll need to take your own detergents, etcetera...a great trade-off when you can go home with barely any dirty laundry. Probably the best TV in any holiday let we've been in. Large and with a live Netflix account, so plenty of viewing choice for those days when you don't fancy braving the Welsh rain. Recommended.

The garden is a beautifully kept area, enjoying a sunny aspect at the rear for most of the day, where you can enjoy a drink and some alfresco dining in the warmer months with your loved ones.
