"A lovely bungalow in an elevated position above the village with rural views on all sides."
The main living/dining room is ideal. A good kitchen and two excellent bathrooms. We did not use the second sitting room at all. A car is definitely needed and we would recommend visits to the Dingle Garden/nursery near Welshpool and, further away, Carding Mill (NT) Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Church Stretton. We ate well at The Nags Head in Garthmyl and the new Cock and Wok in Forden. We think that Bryn Caer would be especially good in the spring and summer months when the fine garden can be fully appreciated.

"Beautiful property, very well appointed in lovely grounds."
Unfortunately we are both disabled and used to the facilities we have at home e.g rails, a seat in the shower etc so struggled with the lack of these. Would recommend to anybody without physical disabilities who would have a most enjoyable time

Comfortable, clean and well equipped. Very relaxing place.

I would recommend it. The view from the lounge window was amazing. I will definately be going back.

"Wonderful place to stay."
Comfortable and peaceful. Highly recommended.
-
"Extremely comfortable and well equipped bungalow."
Beautiful views from nearly every window. Thank you for everything. Didn't want to leave and will certainly return.
-
"Lovely bungalow."
Comfortable and well equipped. Friendly owners, but in no way intrusive. We enjoyed the views, the birds feeding just outside the window, the fruit from the apple trees, and the warmth and cosiness at night.

"This was our second stay at Bryn Caer and as last year, we thoroughly enjoyed it and really didn't want to leave!"
The house is extremely comfortable, spacious and well maintained and the views are stunning from all aspects of the house, with the large living room window offering a panoramic view of the lovely surrounding countryside. The house is easily accessible to Shrewsbury Town and lovely villages nearby and provides a relaxing retreat at the end of busy days spent sightseeing. We also love the house as it is ideal for intergenerational families: my elderly father really enjoyed having the second living room to relax in and our children spent most of their time playing in the beautiful gardens that wrap around the whole house Thank you so much to the owner Anne for making the house such an inviting place to stay and for the welcome pack. We would love to return!
-
"Great cottage, with everything you need in a holiday home."
Amazing views. So pleased to see plenty of comfortable seating in both the family and living room, each room could easily sit 6 guests. Would recommend for multi generation stay as having the 2 living spaces and 2 TVs, you dont all have to be together all of the time. Great village shop and cafe few minutes walk. Loads to do without driving miles, inc Montgomery, Powis Castle, Shrewsbury, Welshpool steam train.

"Our 4th stay at Bryn-Caer & already looking forward to next visit."
A superbly situated, exceptionally well equipped bungalow with wonderful views over the Shropshire/ Welsh Borders. We have holidays in many Sykes properties but return to Bryn -Caer more than any other. Thank you.
-
"What a lovely bungalow, beautiful views from every window especially the picture window in the family room."
So lovely to watch the world go by, whatever the weather. The bungalow has everything you need and is really comfortable. The log burner makes it extra cosy in the evening. The bungalow is well situated for travelling to Ludlow, Shrewsbury etc although Montgomery is worth a visit and is just down the road. It is a great place for kicking of your shoes and relaxing. The walks look great but the weather was awful for most of our week. Shame the pub is not open as that would have been fantastic. Thank you so much for the welcome pack which was very generous.

"Bryn Caer enjoys the rare distinction of exceeding my expectations."
This spacious, quiet, and comfortable bungalow was a joy. The main carpeting was luxurious was walking on the underfloor heated extension carpet was Heavenly, particularly in November. The property was set far enough outside Chirbury to be private but not so far that I felt isolated and desolate. Resting on the external rocker as the sun set was pure joy. The welcome pack, and especially the cookies, were a bonus. I am more than happy to recommend Bryn Caer.

"Loved the cottage and chirbury but wished the pub had been open."
We had a fun time catching up with my college friends and did quite a lot of walking. Visited Montgomery on foot and had a nice lunch at the dragon hotel. Drove to Bishops Castle and did a walk from there. Enjoyed eating at the Three tuns brewery there too. The cottage is well stocked and welcoming, a lovely place to stay. The snug sitting room was very welcome and we liked the wood burner on cold evenings. Might return when the pub reopens!

"Wow, what a beautiful, spacious and interesting holiday cottage."
Great views all around the property on an elevated position. Quiet and peaceful location just right for a relaxing break.lovely garden for sitting out. This is the most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. We wanted for nothing. The big surprise on arrival was the very welcome hamper with lots of quality foodstuffs. Thank you very much Anne we were blown away by your generosity. Spent every evening in the very comfortable small lounge. Great location for exploring Shropshire with quiet roads from the door in every direction.

"Really enjoyed the stay."
Property is well presented, spacious and clean. The internet connection was first class. It was a perfect location for us, being quiet and detached. All the required kitchen utensils and crockery was there and easy to find. We appreciated the welcome pack of goodies.
-
"Very much enjoyed our stay in this peaceful environment."
A much needed break which is very much appreciated. Hope to return before too long. Tudor and Pauline.
-
"An absolute delight."
Everything was perfect for us. I wish we could have stayed longer.
-
"Loved our stay."
Very peaceful. Everything we could have wanted in the property. Really liked the welcome gift as well!
-
"Modern bungalow with a lived in country feel."
Set among farmland so quiet and peaceful. Great welcome pack and lovely apples from tree in garden. 20 minute drive from several great days out including Powys Castle and wild swimming in river Severn at Newtown.
-
"This was our second visit to Bryn Caer and we loved it just as much as the first time!"
-
"Very nice accommodation but there is no pub/restaurant in the village which is one of the reasons we chose it so that we would not have to drive in the evening."
it is misleading on the site. we sorted out rubbish but it was not clear when it would be collected. there was a lot of recycling and rubbish left by previous occupants. Views beautiful.

"We've stayed in quite a few holiday properties - Bryn Caer must count as one of the best."
The property was very well equipped and the views were terrific (the spectacular picture window was a highlight of our stay!). We didn't meet the owner, but she had left a welcoming note and we felt that she would have been quick to respond to any problem - not that there were any. We'd have been very happy to stay longer - perhaps we'll be able to next time.
-
"This was our 3rd stay ar Bryn-Caer."
Taking my husbands 91 yrs old father with us made our week a little different, but the bungalow as on previous visits didn't disappoint &he greatly enjoyed his week. Bryn-Caer's a real home from home with glorious views ,exceptionally well equipped &set within beautiful Shropshire hills&Welsh Marches.

"It was just perfect."
A lovely property, light and airy. Plenty of space and the second sitting room was perfect for cosy evening’s. Outdoor space with table and chairs, birds singing and country noises made for a relaxing week. Plenty of draw space, big bathrooms, 3 wc’s, comfortable beds, but nothing can top the main room with the fantastic views through those huge windows.

"First class in every respect"
-
"The cottage was lovely and spacious."
It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. A very generous goody basket was much appreciated. If visiting the area again, I would definitely book another stay at the cottage. Lots of nice towns and villages to explore nearby. One thing I would mention is to speak to the host about the thermostat timings if the weather is cold. We were able to keep over-riding it but it may be a bit of a hassle for some guests.
-
"Our stay at this Holiday cottage was fantastic."
we had everything we needed to ensure a comfortable stay. very clean. Wonderful location with beautiful views from every window. will recommend this to others and would go back. Hosts at the end of the phone if needed.
-
"We had a lovely weekend, the property is very homely and welcoming."
The gardens are a joy and fabulous views all round. Very well equipped too.

Very accommodating owner. would like to return.

"Lovely spacious bungalow with every comfort catered for."
Beautiful views from all aspects. This was our 2nd visit to Bryn Caer&will hopefully return again.

"Nicely laid out cottage with lovely views & good facilities."

"We had a wonderful week during the 2021 harvest season!"
Bryn Caer was a brilliant location for a cross-generation break: 18 months to 30s to 60s. For the youngest the terrific panoramic window (and that little chair) overlooking the constant flow of tractors and harvest trailers was a huge feature! The lights at night as those harvesting made the best of the weather on the hill were unforgettable. It was a lovely, really comfortable home, and the lady who took care of the cleaning was an absolute delight. The 'goodies' basket on arrival was just wonderful - thank you! The shop up the road was a great local shopping resource. Absolutely delighted with our stay.
-
"A fantastic bungalow in an idyllic setting."
So well equipped. Welcome gifts on arrival were a lovely surprise. We all had a fabulous time. Lots to see and do nearby. I think we will be back.
-
"Delightful cottage position very good beautiful views and well maintained garden"
-
"Fantastic bungalow on an elevated position with great views."
The owner, Anne provided everything needed for a wonderful stay. Everywhere was spotless and we felt that all Covid-19 requirements had been met or probably exceeded. We met up with my husband's son and family who we hadn't seen since last August and it was perfect for us. The location is great, especially for walkers or for those who like to visit interest towns. We went to Barmouth in Wales for our first visit to the beach this year and it was great. Thank you Anne. We look forward to visiting again.

"Our stay at Bryn Caer was delightful in so many ways!"
The panoramic views, every comfort thought of and the abundance of space inside and out. It is a great location for visiting Shropshire and the Welsh Borders. Looking forward to our next visit already!

"The bungalow is in an elevated position just outside the village of Chirbury."
There are lovely views over the countryside in all directions. We appreciated the generous bowl of “goodies” on arrival. The huge floor to ceiling panoramic window in the new extension is exceptional and gives an impression that that you are almost "outside" overlooking the village, farmland and grazing sheep. The bungalow was very clean and well equipped. Unusually there are two separate sitting areas with a tv each, which could prove useful for two couples or a family with older children. Slippers are required in most areas of the house to protect the carpeting: some are provided if needed. A word about disabled access. There is a small step and door frame to manage on entry, though there is a grab handle outside. One part of the corridor would be too narrow for a wheelchair, though just wide enough for my husband's inside tri-walker. There is a walk in shower in the ensuite of the master bedroom but it doesn't have any grab handles and could prove slippery. The toilet is low-level. It would be wise discussing any accessibility issues with the helpful owner beforehand. Overall, this is a brilliant property which we can highly recommend.
-
"Anne was an excellent host and has the most incredible accommodation."
The layout was perfect for our family of 6 and the new extension was very spacious. Being up on the hill, the views from every window were either looking out over the fields or over the village. Everything we needed was there and so much more, as every room was so well equipped to make our stay so enjoyable. Despite Wales shutting its borders for lockdown, we still had plenty to do and some days we were very happy to chill out at our home from home. Really hoping we can stay again and it is definitely high on the list as one of the best places that we have stayed at. Huge thank you from the whole family.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Bryn Caer in Chirbury."
The bungalow was appointed to a very high standard and very comfortable. It was surrounded by beautiful countryside, the added bonus was seeing the cows and sheep in the opposite field. It is an excellent base for touring the area.
-
"A beautiful property with lots of character."
Having the aga and log fire in winter was a bonus. Beautiful views and a quiet village topped it off. Lovely gifts for Christmas we’re left for us and a decorated tree and other decorations, too. Yes, a few personal items were left around but it adds to the feel of the place. We will happily come here again. I highly recommend the local pub, as well. Very welcoming and cosy.

"Have been to many cottages, would liked to have seen information on how to use the cooker, did eventually find in drawer, Was very confused over the putting out of the bins as different informations in the folder."
Could not understand why the cupboards have so much food in as thought was holiday cottage not one lived in, felt very uncomfortable as like living in someone else’s home, none of us were sure if we were allowed to use any of the food. Lily of Bucks

"Presence of clothing and personal items felt intrusive."
We hope we didn’t bring home any of the moths!!
-
"We used the bungalow as a base for a walking weekend."
It's within an hour walk of Montgomery (walking on the road). The property served our needs so much so we stayed in on Saturday night instead of heading out to Montgomery. The home has a mixture of a family home and that of rented accommodation, we were all happy with what was on offer. If we should happen to stay in the area again this property will certainly be an option.
-
"Too many rules and regulations from the owner."
We were booking a holiday cottage, what we got was the owners home. We were not expecting to be in a home with a lot of the owners possessions. We felt like it was an airb&b booking. The cottage was ideal, in an area we were keen to explore. The weather was glorious which made the holiday. The bathrooms were lovely, the bedrooms suited our needs.
