Very nice and warm only one issue with the shower tray fills up and doesn't run away quickly enough the toaster had melted on the bottom looks like someone put it on the hot stove but it still worked okay love the chalet it's been 3 or 4times we've had it now must speak volumes

  • "Great location with fantastic views."

Owner communicated well with us and left us some complimentary Welsh cakes and wine on arrival. Site was well maintained and the facilities on offer such as swimming pool, site shop and club were lovely. Fab location to explore the local area from. Dislikes - the property was 11 minutes away (fast walk) from the beach not 5 minutes as stated on the booking page. We had mice during our visit. Owner arranged for traps to be set but no one came back to check if the traps had been set off and nor was a clean offered. As such, we could not use two of the cupboards nor the toaster for remaining duration of our stay due to mice droppings and bits of plastic which had been chewed. The shower tray filled up with water when being used within minutes. Again notified the owner who was sending a handyman around to check the traps but at this point we decided to leave. No hand towel, no shower mat (crucial for safety when exiting and also to try and keep the water in one place) and no hand wash to use on arrival. Disappointed that Sykes also did not contact us after complaining about the mice to check we were okay.

  • "As 70 year old, Smarty's view as just an ideal place."

If we looked left we could see the seafront, and elsewhere we could see the rolling hills of Mid Wales. We were able to visit old haunts such as Bwlch Nant Yr Arian where the Red Kites are fed every day and is such a spectacular sight. We were able to take wonderfully scenic walks along the coast. We re-visited the Wednesday market in Machynlleth where we bought several bargains as usual, and enjoyed Cod and chips from an award winning fish & chip shop at the top of the High Street. I would very highly recommend this holiday let to anyone who enjoys nature and great scenery. Diolch yn Fawr to the owner Dawn! In English, I just said Thank yo so very much for a most wonderful week.

  • "A lovely chalet."

I t had stunning views of the sea and the countryside. It provided a good base for us as we met up with friends in Aberaeron. it is handy for visiting Aberystwyth and surrounding areas. Clarach bay is a good family site with things to do for both young and old so is perfect for families (and pets). We look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

  • "A lovely area to holiday."

The chalet was as described. It has recently been redecorated, following a lovely seaside theme, so much brighter than the photos show. There are fabulous views from the chalet and beautiful sunsets. The area itself has lots of things to do for all the family (plenty of information is provided in the chalet), all within easy driving distance, great coastal walks. The reception staff on site were helpful and polite, and while we didn't use any of the sites entertainment facilities, there appeared to be a decent choice for families. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here.

  • "Car parking space hard to access ."

this property is NOT suitable for people with mobility problems *********** Owner response *********** Each chalet is allocated an off road parking bay for guests adjacent to the property. In this respect the parking and access to it is no different to any of the other properties on the park. The only discrepancy with Number 18 is that the access to parking is shared with that of number 19 who have no other way to access their parking other than the grassed area between the properties, as such guests are directed to park at the rear of the chalet so that number 19's guests are able to park at the rear of their property. They then need to walk just a few steps on grass to access the few shallow steps to the side door in order to get into the property.

  • "Not happy with having dog hairs on the bedding."

**************** Owner response ****************** Dog hairs being left in the property is unacceptable. If we were advised of this during the Mr Malik's stay, I would have contacted the cleaner and arranged for them to go back and rectify this. The guests prior to him did have dogs with them as part of their booking and were told not to allow the dogs onto the beds or furniture. After reading read this comment we travelled to Clarach at our first opportunity to check on the condition and cleanliness of the property. There were no dog hairs visible even before the cleaners had attended for that changeover. We again checked the property after the team had finished their work and made sure that everything was clean, beds had been made and clean towels had been set out for the incoming guests. Cleanliness and presentation of our property are very important to us and to our guests. If we are made aware of an issue we will always make every effort to rectify it. On this occasion we were not advised and only received this a week later on Sykes' Website and then took steps to ensure that expected standards had been reinstated.
