"Stayed at Rosemary Cottage for 3 nights."
Overall, a very comfortable property, central to the village. Very clean and modern bathroom facilities with bountiful hot water. The wood burner made it a cosy retreat in the evenings. As mentioned in other reviews, a door curtain across the sun~ room door would be welcomed, maybe a venetian blind in the rear bedroom window and landing window for added privacy. The cottage offered everything we needed as a family of four and would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

"Lovely cottage, very cosy but spacious and perfect, quiet location for walks and getting away from our hectic life at home."
We very much enjoyed our stay and would love to return. Had a great Sunday lunch in the White Horse and found everyone very friendly and welcoming in the Sun Inn over the road. Sofas a bit low and got uncomfortable after a while of sitting and towels were abit rough. Great stay overall , thank you.

"This was a lovely property in an ideal location."
It was nicely presented, had all the basics we needed and was spotlessly clean. Our only negative observations are that the beds were uncomfortable (lumpy mattresses) and that the 3 piece suite in the lounge was comfortable but unusually low. One of our party has a knee issue and struggled to get up from the comfy chairs. This may nake the property unsuitable for people who are elderly or have mobility problems.

"We were meeting friends in Clun and needed somewhere to stay."
Decided to extend the weekend so that we could do some walking in the area. We have visited Clun before, so know what a charming place it is. Rosemary Cottage is well located in the centre of the village, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were able to park in the street immediately outside the cottage. Would highly recommend.
Thank you for your lovely review and that you found the cottage fitted your needs. Property Owner

"Very clean and comfortable house."
It was well equipped with everything we needed. We liked going for walks from the doorstep. The village of Clun is a quintessential English village with friendly pubs and excellent cafes. We didn't want to come home.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and pleased you enjoyed your stay. Clun is a very special place so can understand not wanting to go home. Property Owner

"Really lovely cottage, clean quiet and well equipped."
This might just be a personal preference but the mattresses were very soft which meant we struggled to sleep.
Thank you Zakira for your lovely review. So pleased you liked the cottage but sorry you found the mattresses soft, which as you say is a personal view. Property Owner

"Lovely cottage, loved the area."
Very clean but not so well equipped, particularly the kitchen There were few decent knives and the cutlery wasn’t good. China and glass fine but no colander. I realise not many people cook on a self-catering holiday. But I do. The Maltings cafe just across the road is really to be recommended.

"Excellent cottage in the centre of Clun."
Very clean and well equipped. Suited our needs perfectly.

"All was good."
Just a suggestion for curtain/blind in the second main door as it views directly on the street.

"Really clean on our arrival."
We found the heating a bit complicated and couldn't get the radiators upstairs to come on or the heated towel rails. This really wasn't a problem since the weather was pretty good. We liked the little sun porch and the fact that there was two showers. The parking was a little bit of a problem but not too bad. Clun is a lovely village with good walking country all around.
Thank you for your feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed your visit to Clun. The instructions for the radiators are in the welcome pack. Property Owner

"The cottage is in a great position on the High Street in such a lovely village with very friendly people and amazing countryside."
The cottage is generally good but there were a few issues. On cleanliness I was disappointed to find that the grill pan hadn't been cleaned properly and there were crumbs under the toaster. On facilities there were 3 overhead lights where bulbs had either gone or were absent, including in the front porch which is essential if coming back to the cottage late. We bought 3 light bulbs. Generally the lighting seemed dim in all rooms and not easy to read by (no lamp on right hand side of bed in back room). Also there only seemed to be one sharp knife in the kitchen. The bungalow at the back has a very bright security light which came on several times each night and woke us up. The back bedroom needs thicker curtains to counteract that. The website pictures show a sitting area screened by a holly hedge but actually this is where the wheelie bins are kept so a bit misleading. You can still sit nearer the back door if you don't mind being open to the driveways of adjacent cottages and people passing on the footpath. We did find the sitting room a bit soulless and a rug would have made it seem more comfortable. Personally I found the settee and chairs too low and uncomfortable so spent the week sitting on either a dining chair (by the way, one of these is broken and nearly collapsed on me) or one of the garden chairs. My partner was fine.
Sorry to hear such negative comments, which are somewhat surprising given that we have a 100% feedback record for cleanliness. Please don’t be put off booking Rosemary Cottage which is newly refurbished and clean. I would have gladly replaced light bulbs if you had contacted me. There are spares in a drawer in kitchen. Incidentally there is a lamp in the sitting room. I have now provided a reading lamp and a rug and removed broken chair. Property Owner

"We had a lovely time at Rosemary Cottage."
We had some reservations about booking a cottage with no garden but the easy access to green space meant there was no problem with our 2 dogs. The cottage is very clean and fresh and Clun is a charming place, great if you enjoy the outdoors. It is a lovely area to explore. Good pubs too!
Thank you Sandra for the lovely review. So please you enjoyed your stay at Rosemary Cottage. Hope to see you again one day. Property Owner

About the location
CLUN
Bishop's Castle 6 miles; Ludlow 18 miles.
A.E. Houseman's poem, A Shropshire Lad, defined Clun as 'the quietest place under the sun', and with its dramatic ruin of a Norman castle, Saxon church, the bustling river which flows under the 14th century pack horse bridge, and a country inn, Clun is a rural gem situated in the South Shropshire Hills. It lies on the Shropshire Way in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to the border of Wales, an area known as The Marches. This unspoilt part of Britain has an abundance of wildlife and beautiful unhindered walking and cycling routes winding their way through the countryside with the Clun and Kerry Forests, Offa's Dyke, and Kerry Ridgeway all close by. There are a wide range of festivals and shows on offer in the surrounding area throughout the year, including The Green Man festival in May. From Clun, you can also enjoy exploring the historic towns of Bishop's Castle, Presteigne, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, and Hereford, a must for visitors.
