  • "Bryn Hafod is an absolutely beautiful cottage."

A real home from home. Cerys and staff were all extremely helpful and responded extremely fast to any issues. The cottage was clean and modern with beautiful views. The welcome package was a lovely surprise and we really enjoyed the Welsh cakes. A very strong fan in the livingroom was a welcome treat on those warm days and a comfortable seating area was in the garden. The Sands caravan site, a 5 minute drive away, had a wonderful dog friendly beach with an arcade, ice cream shop, small supermarket and a club house that served delicious meals. Would highly recommend this property and would definitely return.

  • "We had a brilliant time."

It was the small attention to detail that really made our stay. The highchair and the stool for the children in the bathroom. The ice machine was a huge hit with the children. Beds were comfy and everything was emaculate. Thank you.

  • "I have given 3 stars due to the access problems we had for 2 wheelchair users getting into the garden and to leave the property ( steep hill, one way is the only route out hence had to yse car to get anywhere, even the shop) There are lots of steps in the garden and from every door except the front which is parking area not garden ."

There are 3 deep steps from the conservatory . This significantly impacted the enjoyment of the garden, both for wheelchair users and the 18month old guest,as a toddler the steps were straight onto slabbing needing watching out for him all the time. The house I'd give 5 stars to. It is beautiful, extremely well equipped, very thoughtful touches ( lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated) The owners have made every effort to provide a great accommodation. For those without mobility issues or toddlers it is lovely. We chose it especially as it has a downstairs bedroom plus downstairs walk in shower, and the open plan one level layout also looked suitable. I agree with others about the access road,it is a surprise to discover this ! I think it is important to alter the house information to reflect fully the access to garden and house. It is also questionable to say it is near the train station . Once you leave the house,up the steep hill you then travel down another incline to the main road, from there it is half a mile. Sykes agent Adam today said that it should be possible to arrange this. He was very apologetic and pleasant.

  • "Beautiful house!"

Steep single track access lane, but it’s one way only so no change of meeting something coming the other way, and plenty of room to park when you get there. House is roomy and spotless. Lots of hot water! Beds were comfy. Welcome pack included barabrith, welsh cakes and a box of biscuits. Everything you could want in the kitchen including decent sharp knives for once! Nice selection of games and three smart TVs meant everyone was entertained. Would have liked a pole to reach the blinds on the Velux windows in the 2 largest 1st floor bedrooms, and a curtain to cover the quarter light window in the master. Owners tried to get us a baby gate for the top of the stairs when we requested one but sadly it didn’t arrive on time - so we had to keep doors closed while ‘little miss’ was running around. 4 generations of the same family (plus dog!) had a brilliant time. Local kebab/burger van was surprisingly good! Would definitely recommend Bryn Hafod for extended families.

  • "I would definitely recommend a stay here."

The house is beautiful and was very warm and spotlessly clean. The kitchen and utility room are really well equipped, and there were plenty of towels available. The only suggestion I have is that the Sykes description could mention that the first part of any car journey involves a drive up a steep and narrow road. Thankfully it's short and one way, so there was no risk of meeting another vehicle. The owners are really friendly and helpful. They took the trouble to contact us before our stay and very kindly offered to post something that we left behind.

  • "We all loved the cottage and were really impressed when we arrived as it was even better than the pictures."

It was equipped with everything, was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The trains, buses (which were exactly on time) and shop were a short walk away. We would return again in the future. The only problem we had was having to keep our Jack Russel dog on a lead in the garden as he found a gap to get out on the first day.

  • "The property was brilliant modern clean and well equipped."

We couldn't have asked for anything better, it was for our golden wedding anniversary and two birthdays celebrations. The house was on a quiet lane with sea views and close to the popular tourist attraction and the beautiful beach of Harlech ( which the dog loved). Would definitely recommend and return and would give more stars if I could.

The open plan living is designed really well with clear zones for eating, lounging etc. and the kitchen is very well equipped with more than ample crockery, utensils etc. The sleeping and bathing facilities worked really well for us, group of 7 from 3 households, with each household having it own bath/shower room. There are lovely sea views from the house and its location is great for access to sandy beaches, beautiful countryside, pretty seaside resorts such as Criccieth and Beaumaris, and Zip World for those wanting an adrenalin fix. Bryn Hafod was ideal for us and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Only concern was that the listing stated totally enclosed garden, of which it appeared to be? however the gate at the front of the property had come off and was replaced by a pallet (obviously a short term fix?). Unfortunately for us the pallet had not been put back in place to make the garden enclosed, consequently one of our dogs went on walk about on the first afternoon of the stay and caused a panic for 15 minutes until we found her near to the main road. Not a good start to the holiday but we quickly got over it and had a good break.

Everything about the Bryn Hafod was a 5 stars and we have stayed in many Sykes accommodations so this was in our top 3. The house its generous size, with lovely bedrooms, comfortable beds and super equipped kitchen. Great size living room space as well as conservatory so plenty of space to relax with a drink and a book on a rainy day. The owners decorated the place which was a lovely touch and provided us with a generous welcome pack. The garden looked lovely, with BBQ and a sitting area however as it was raining and was cold so sadly we didn't get to enjoy it. The location was spot on, close to the beaches as well as a track up the mountains. We honestly loved our stay and coming from a busy London it was just nice to relax and recharge our batteries. We will most definitely be back again in the summer.

The owner got in touch with us while we were on route. Their house keeper had informed them that the electric shower was not working. Also with all the rain there was a leak in the conservatory. They said they were getting an electrician and a maintenance person in. Kept us informed and both jobs were done before we arrived. The next day they sent us a gift of a very nice cream tea, for any problems the above had caused. No problem for us . A very nice surprise
