  • "The cottage is excellent."

It's spacious and comfortable with everything you need. Although the cottage is on a busy road, traffic noise is minimal and not a problem. The location is fabulous with direct access to the road that takes you to all the beautiful places that are within easy reach. Sunsets can be stunning when the sun goes down behind the mountains. We visited Portmerien, which is well worth a visit, and we went to ZIP World and completed the Velocity. It's not for the faint hearted but an incredible experience. Bala, Dolgellau, Fairbourne, and many others are all great. We also visited the Corris craft centre which has some lovely unique craftsmen and women. The cottage is in the middle of the Mach loop, and there's jet fighters flying over at low level throughout the day, which we enjoyed immensely. We plan to return to the cottage early next year.

  • "This is the second time we stayed at this lovely cottage and we love everything about it."

Very cosy and clean inside, beautiful well looked after garden. Ieuan & Gwyneth are very welcoming and provide everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Welsh cakes, cupcakes and fresh flowers in the kitchen were a nice touch. Fireplace is set and ready to go. We used it every day and run out of wood so the hosts supplied us with more daily for a small fee. There are also books and games for the kids to entertain themselves on a rainy day. It really felt like home away from home for us. We will be back! Thank you so much!!!

  • "A great cottage!"

we brought along lots of essentials that we didn't actually need as they were already here! (hand soap, fairy, wash pods, clingfilm, foil etc) a very well stocked place to stay. You really only need to bring clothes, shoes and hygiene products - oh and snacks! The welcome tray is great as you can settle in first then hunt for the shop! Loved the shower - just missing something to put your toiletries on. Great to have instant hot water and really toasty heating! I found it very easy to find with the what three words location - being on the main road in this case is a big bonus. We didn't really notice the road noise as we wore ourselves out to notice it! spent most of our time out and about but when we were at the cottage if we were not sleeping we sat in the kitchen/diner watching the lambs leaping and playing. We had a lovely few days here and would highly recommend as a base for visiting around the area. With regards to local attractions such as the deep mine and zip line I would recommend checking their websites and pre booking to avoid a missed opportunity. Also check the terms and conditions with regards to health suitability also. The owners are lovely, really helpful and are only next door if you need anything. This cottage has everything you need for a stay in Wales. So much so you could literally move live there! Blaenau Ffestiniog is just under a 20 min drive away for the mines and zip lines, The Llanberis pass is a great sightseeing opportunity as is the huge local lake at Trawsfyndd All in all for us, our first visit to North Wales - and it was a great experience!

Ease of parking outside the property. Beautiful, cosy, spotless cottage. Every facility needed, home from home. Spotless, comfortable beds. We'll stocked with towels, tea towels and bedding. Hosts, but a call away from the replacement of logs for the log burner. Complimentary Welsh coffee, Welsh Cakes, milk and fresh flowers on arrival, an absolutely gem of a find.

The owners are really lovely and helped us out lots when we had car problems. I will remember their generosity forever and if they are reading this - thanks once again! The welcome pack was a thoughtful touch. The space was ample for our family of 3 having lots of room but was cosy and warmed up easily. We enjoyed a treat, using the open fire on a few nights. It is really well equipped and we used the washing machine a couple of times after being on trails. It was not where the postcode marker says so realised after booking that it is near the main road. With windows shut that was not a problem and it is set back, behind the chapel. In fact migratory birds in the woods behind serenaded us during the week! Despite our car problems we had a lovely week.

It was clean, tidy and fresh. We were welcomed with coffee, Welsh cakes and fresh flowers. Really lovely touches. Beds were really comfortable with good quality linen. The location is rural enough to feel like you are away from the rat race, but you are in really easy driving distance of loads of great activities for all the family. Yes there is a fairly busy road outside but it's the road you need to get to all the good places so it's good just to be able to get on to your destination straight away. They have a lovely little garden for the cottage so you can sit in the sun and relax. The cottage has a washing machine which was very handy as well as a downstairs loo (also has an upstairs bathroom with toilet, bath etc and a separate shower room). It's really excellent. Mr and Mrs Tomos should be very proud. We couldn't fault it.

  • "Ty Capel Jeriwsalem was warm and cosy on our arrival, and remained so throughout the week."

The cottage was perfect for us, and I thought the attention to detail in the restoration was very clever. The owners have struck a great balance between offering their guests comfort, yet keeping the character of an old Welsh cottage. It contained everything we might need, with some thoughtful extras and a great selection of books and dvds. An impression was created of the cottage being someone's home, rather than just somewhere available for hire. The owners themselves are a lovely couple, very welcoming and helpful. A very nice hostess tray left out for us with fresh coffee, tea and bara brith, and even an Easter Egg!! Ieaun even helped me with my research. We couldn't have asked for more. We knew we would be staying in a lovely part of Wales, as I had spent several holidays there as a child. However, we had underestimated the dramatic scenery and the friendliness of the locals. I recalled a statement made 17 years ago by a family friend who we took on holiday to this part. Having just come back from a round-the world-trip, he stated 'why on earth did we go all the way to New Zealand when we had this virtually on our doorstep?' And two things this time that we weren't expecting - the weather was more than acceptable for end of March, despite the dreary weather forecasts, and the excellent state of the roads. Not a pothole to be seen, where in England the journey ends up being like a slalom in trying to avoid them. What does Wales get so right, that we can't in England?!!
