Great location for exploring the area with the kids - Pen Y Fan - 45mins away, Elan Valley - 20 mins away. Shops about 10 mins away with some nice pubs and cafes close by too. Hot tub made for a lovely way to rest aching legs, warm up and take in some utterly stunning views. Comfortable beds, decent kitchen, and very welcoming hosts. Will most definitely return.

The incredible, summer-like weather coupled with the large patio area and hot tub made it hard to believe it was still March, while the interior of the cottage was everything we could have wished for. Lovely to meet the owner Tracey, too, along with assorted goats, chickens and ducks!

  • "First off when we got there the fridge didn't work."

the owner did get us another but had to wait 3 days by then food was starting to spoil. kept awake by mice in the loft owner had to set traps bated with cheese. the because of your accepting bookings from large a group of men we had 4 asian men doing drugs next door drinking and making alot of noise to the point we had to come home 3 nights early. all in all a waste of nearly £500. was supposed to be a relaxing week of quiet for my wife who is unwell. instead caused stress and upset.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you were not entirely happy with your stay. The fridge temperature was checked on the Wednesday after your reported the issue on Tuesday night and you had a new fridge installed on Thursday so just 48 hours later. We did catch one small fieldmouse after your stay after setting a trap but have not seen any since. This can be part of staying in a rural area but we are sorry for any disturbance caused during your stay. We are sorry that the neighbouring guests were disruptive during your stay, however, there was no evidence of substance abuse in the property next door. We do not always receive the names and sex of all party members when they book but of course do expect guests to behave in a respectful and courteous manner. A restriction has since been added so that they can't book again and we have offered you a gesture in view of their disruption. Property Owner

  • "The holiday home is set in peaceful grounds of a working farm; surrounded by fields and nature (red kites and Kestrels could be seen daily)."

Foxes Meadow is adjacent to a field of lambs and just down the lane from the cottage owners private home, where they also have a couple of goats and a small holding of free roaming friendly chickens. The owners and their family are very welcoming and friendly, quickly making us feel at home and were very sweet with our daughter. The cottage (one of four) was a short 8 minutes drive from a couple of lovely restaurants (Drivers Thai and Gino’s Italian) and the local lake side and railway station (plus a large Tesco and Aldi). The nearby town of Landrindod Wells revamped the lakeside in 2021 with a new (free to use and park by) sandpit and water sport facilities. The latter being chargeable for £10 for 45 minutes of paddle board lessons for example. Down the road from the lake is also a pitch and putt mini golf course. The big hot tub was definitely a bonus and the views from it were spectacular. We will definitely return.

  • "The cottage was ideal, in a beautiful setting with amazing views."

Tracey was lovely and there upon our arrival, she gave us a few ideas for days out and her dog Bella was so cute and friendly. The cottage was very well equipped and the Welsh cakes were delicious. The only downside for us was the fridge didn't look like it had been cleaned and the flies, mainly in the kitchen, we actually went and bought some fly spray, I know it can't be helped in the warm weather but there were so many that we sprayed downstairs and closed doors each time we went out or to bed, but there was no let up. Other than that, I'd thoroughly recommend this cottage, the hot tub was fab after a days walking too.

Thank you for your feedback, with the property being in the countryside we do have flies in the warm weather. I do apologise that you felt the fridge wasn't clean, I do clean the property to a high standard and I have taken on your feedback on board. Property Owner

Most within easy reach of the property. The hot tub was a great asset to this property. The hosts and the family dog were welcoming and friendly on arrival and we felt relaxed straight away. Then we were left alone to enjoy our holiday. We would of been very happy to contact them if the need had arisen. The cottage was clean, spacious and well equipped for all our needs. • "The cottage itself is absolutely lovely, it is so homely and comfortable."

The kitchen was fab with everything we needed, and the little touches that were left by the owners were so thoughtful. They had left some eggs, a full bottle of milk, wine, Welsh cakes and hot cross buns which were a great touch for Easter. The living room is delightful with the patio doors offering a wonderful view and lots of natural light, and it's very cosy in the evening. We were very comfortable in the double bedroom and there is loads of storage space as well which I haven't found in other places we have stayed. I liked not having to live out of our bags for the whole of our stay! The highlight of this fantastic place though has to be the location and of course the hot tub. The cottage is at the bottom of a lane on the owners farm and is in easy reach of the local village and the nearest town. We even visited Aberystwyth. The back patio of the cottage looks over the owners land where there are sheep roaming freely- when we were there, there were lots of lovely lambs who would come up to the fence to visit! I loved it. It's so quiet and peaceful and the views over the hills and landscape are stunning. That brings me to the hot tub though... even though we had cloudy days and it wasn't as warm as we would have liked it, we sure didn't mind that when we got into that hot tub! It was so much fun and so relaxing. The water in the tub was clean and fresh and the owners visit every morning to check it's okay and there aren't any problems. All in all, my fiancé and I felt very lucky that we discovered this gem of a place for such an affordable price and hope to visit again with family in the future. Thank you both for making our anniversary stay so wonderful!
