  • "Red Kite Cottage is like a home from home."

Has everything you need. Very quiet at end of lane. Able to listen to the birds and wildlife and see the stars. Llandrindod Wells only a few minutes away with lively walks. Will definitely stay again

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Red Kite cottage very much."

It introduced us to parts of Wales we had not experienced before. The cottage was clean and comfortable, it had all we needed for the week. The bird feeding station attracted birds we had not seen at such close quarters, in particular a Jay and a pair of woodpeckers. The squirrels were also very entertaining. Thank you!

  • "The owners are super nice people and the cottage and location is wonderful."

I take the opportunity here though -but NOT at all specific to Red Kite -to highlight an issue which many visitors are not happy with although the choice to book or not is of course a choice ie the late arrival and early departure times which more owners seem to be taking advantage of 5pm arrival means loss of most of one day and hanging around n new areas especially tiring during short day light - as does departure at 9pm. It means a loss of use for another day. In a party with children and dogs the times are especially difficult although some owners will discuss the times it is not though really accurate to advertise a 7 day use of the property . There is also a situation whereby owners are saving on heating Amost as soon as arrival guests are being told what owners are providing and this can vary between allowing guests to manage the heating to suit their needs to eg being told the heating goes on at 8am and off at 10am all day until 4pm and off again at 8pm The properties describe that heating is included in the rental but it varies a lot! So having said I am a very satisfied regular customer of Sykes which is helping me to plan many trips with confidence and look forward to many more. hope my feedback is useful -

  • "Nice cottage in a brilliant location, with beautiful quiet countryside nearby, and two nice towns with plenty shops, pubs and restaurants also very close by car."

Garden was a good size and secure for my small(ish) dog. The WiFi was upgraded in the first few days of my visit, and with the new provider it was fast, more than enough for streaming/video call. Owners seemed friendly, helpful, but not intrusive. Overall, good value for money and a brilliant area to spend a few weeks!

There is noisy floorboards, which we did spot in a previous persons feedback, which did disturb sleep a little. Nearby Pub/Shop needs to be updated, not sure if this is down to the Owners or Sykes to do this. All in all we did have a lovely stay, peaceful, great views, just think a few bits need a little tlc, would recommend. Tracey & Kevin were extremely friendly amd helpful.

The owner is pleasant and provided a warm welcome. The cottage is clean and well maintained, as is the environment surrounding the property. Access via the farm road is a bit bumpy, but that's to be expected of a farm road. We will definitely consider staying again.

  • "A beautiful, peaceful cottage with glorious views."

The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The owners were very friendly and so was Bella the dog; there was lots of local information provided but they were happy to share their knowledge and advice about where to visit locally. We particularly enjoyed watching the birds on the feeders and bird table from the back garden. We were sorry to leave and will definitely be back.

  • "Absolutely lovely cottage!"

Clean and well equipped. Owners were lovely! And grounds were stunning, great views all around . The kids loved the chickens and other animals. Will definitely be returning. One small note to mention would be the toaster- it’s metal around the top and extremely hard to get the bread out without burning yourself, was still able to use though. Also I think you should mention on the listing that you have another cottage next door with a hot tub as if we had known that we would have booked that one. Overall a great stay, stunning area. And absolutely beautiful grounds! a lovely cottage!

  • "My wife and I had a comfortable and relaxing week at Red Kite cottage."

We found Tracey & Kevin very amicable and they sorted out the lack of satellite box signal plus loss of Wi-Fi connection quite quickly. The cottage would benefit from having the old fashioned bathroom suite removed and updated to a modern design throughout.

  • "Basic facilities met expectations and Kevin and Tracy were helpful."

Location was excellent and very peaceful. We stayed during the very hot week in mid-July. The garden was quite big and provided a good area for us and our dog. However the Picnic bench provided (very good, with a hole for parasol), was in full sun and no parasol was provided. This made it unusable for most of the day due to the heat. No fans were available but plenty of heaters (just as well we brought a fan)! The house was full of flies all day and night, not sure why because we were a long way from the farm. All the upstairs floors creaked very alarmingly, especially in the bathroom. Our neighbours were also concerned about the flies and the floors.

Thank you for your feedback, The property is located on a working farm and flies can build up in the area. Due to the extreme heat during your time of stay the flies to increased. We would advise all guests to remove anything that can attract flies after their use in the garden. After speaking to guests in our other property they have advised that they understood this cant be helped due to location. I am afraid that parasols aren't advertised with the picnic bench. Fans aren't provided but can be supplied on request. The creaks in the floors, this has never been reported before and we will investigated. Property Owner

It was comfortable and cosy and the owner was very friendly and helpful, leaving us Welsh cakes and milk to enjoy when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped. We didn't use the outside because of the weather, but could see it would have been lovely to sit outside looking at the view of trees and fields with sheep. The only minor negative was the total lack of hanging space in the bedrooms for clothes. We would book the cottage or one of the adjoining ones if we were in that area again.

The owner was very friendly and had left milk in the fridge and teabags so we could make a drink as soon as we got there. There was also a beautiful vase of flowers on the table and some welsh cakes and beer as a welcome gift, which was a really nice, unexpected touch. The garden was fenced off which meant we could leave the patio doors open for our dog to go in and out as she liked. All in all a very peaceful, relaxing place to stay, would recommend.
