"Patio dangerously slippery, garden not maintained - though, before I arrived, the owner offered to send the gardner during my stay but assuming it would be in a reasonable state, I said I was sure there would be no need."
Shower fixture loose. TV remote control dirty & sticky. Fire didn't light. Cooker light and expel - air not working. Garden fence collapsed thus unable to put out bins. (Owner informed but nothing done during my stay.) Both recycling and non- recycling bins full from previous occupants. Sofa covers covered in dog hair and cushions in need of coverings. A dirty plate among clean ones in the cupboard. Wi-Fi signal too weak to work. Generally, tatty and unwelcoming. I had to clean the patio with a new stiff bristled broom, replace the expel - air fuse (3amp - like for like - a set of which I had to buy) replace a light bulb... and try to clean the sofa covers and trim some of the overhanging roses in order to use the patio. I informed the owner of some of these issues during my stay and after my return, but was told by the owner that they were too busy to take the feedback at that time and didn't offer any other time in which to do so. A real disappointment.

"We have just returned from a holiday at this property and although we had such a great holiday there are a few issues with the cottage that we feel needs to be addressed, the information booklet has not been kept up to date by a few years , green refuse bin was full to the top on arrival ,no clear instructions as to how and where to put it to be emptied, we did put it out and it got sorted ,Main oven does not work, doors to the patio do not lock securely, garden was quite overgrown , I did a bit of pruning so it was useable, headboard on very small double bed with a mattress that needs replacing was broken ,socket behind bed was not looking very safe to use ."
In the bathroom a floor tile was cracked, shower curtain not of much use when you shower, no way of keeping it fully enclosed. Cushions on sofas were dirty and damp, all these points are such a shame as it is a great quirky little cottage. It is up for sale, I am guessing they have given up on the maintenance of this property which really is not acceptable when its a holiday rental

"Lovely cottage in the town centre."
Just a few little niggles. The French doors onto the patio area are really difficult to close. An issue the owner has said is being resolved soon. Privacy screening on the front door would have been nice. Felt like we were in a goldfish bowl when people walked past during the day. Unable to park close to the property due to time limits on every road. Nearest free parking is on Embankment Road near Wetherspoons. Free parking 24/7 and only a 10 minute walk back to the cottage. Plenty of good takeaways within walking distance. All in all a lovely place to stay.

"This was a lovely place to spend the week, great base for walking with walks from the door and the beach is around 10 minutes' walk from the accommodation."
The town itself is very cute with several nice, local shops (we particularly liked the hippie shop) and plenty of places to stock up on supplies, including Asda, Lidl, Iceland, Hone Bargains and B&M. We didn't find many dog-friendly pubs, however, and only one (The Bar) allowed dogs inside. We therefore drove to nearby Abersoch and Nefyn when we wanted to eat out. I was initially a little nervous as the previous couple.of reviews were so negative, but it was clear when we arrived that the owner has worked hard to address the reported issues. The cottage was clean, warm and tidy, there was plenty of equipment and the water in the shower was warm. My mither-in-law, who is 94, said the bed was very comfy (we had to bring her along at the last minute and she struggled with the stairs, but had little need to use them as there is a downstairs loo). The garden was beautiful and the smell of the roses absolutely divine! Regarding parking: there is no parking by the cottage itself, but I had no trouble finding a space every night, two street away on Fforde-Y-Maer. All in all, a very enjoyable stay. We would happily stay here again.
Thankyou for your lovely feedback ! I’m so glad you enjoyed our cottage. We look forward to seeing you again! Property Owner

"Very dated and tired needs a good clean and decoration."
Thankyou for bringing this to our attention . We have addressed all those issues now , and sorted them out . Property Owner

"This property was marketed as shabby chic."
Shabby, unkempt and dirty would have been more accurate and honest. There is nothing chic about filthy French windows, dirty cupboards, a broken, greasy, filthy cooker hood, a broken toilet seat, electric socket hanging off the wall, rotting window frames with no paint left and broken dirty blinds, skirtings which hadn’t seen a wipe for a very long time, no door handles, dog poo in the garden, unmown lawn, brambles across the deck, leaves and massively overgrown spiky rose obstructing the steps, rubbish/old wood, no decent hot water for the tiny shower (comes in waves), thin, cheap towels (only 3) no hand towels. We could go on. We left early. The property could be lovely and was superficially pretty downstairs. The bedrooms are terrible. No wardrobe space at all in the top floor bedroom and the first floor bedroom wardrobe had no doors on it. We have lots of photos to evidence the above
Thankyou for bringing this to our attention . We have resolved most of the issues that you mentioned . We are looking to put more wardrobe space in the top bedroom .hopefully in place very soon . Property Owner

"I have sent my complaint along with photos already."
The property was not up to the standard I have become used to from sykes on this occasion

"The fences were down in the garden so it was not safe for dogs."
This was reported immediately and nothing done about it. The bathroom was filthy with stains on the window sill and a dirty basin. The doors to the back garden were all warped and were impossible to lock when they had been opened. The duvet and mattress on the bed were old and uncomfortable. I had to leave 3 days early due to this.

"Unfortunately we had to leave the property two days early as we were unable to get a good night's sleep in the bed on the first floor."
We had 5 nights of bad sleep and could take no more. This bed is only 4’ wide which is known as a queen size bed, therefore it is totally unacceptable for a couple to sleep in, a standard double bed is 4’6”. My husband and I were unable to turn over so had to sleep on our back the entire time. This room should be advertised as a single as there is no way it can be categorised as a double room. My wife called your office on Monday, i believe she spoke with Dawn to ask if there was an alternative property for us to move to but sadly everything was fully booked within a 50 mile radius. I have photographs of the 4’ bed to prove the exact size Our holiday was ruined, therefore we would like some form of compensation. Sleepless nights were not in our plan when we booked this holiday. Luckily the location was superb so we were able to enjoy our day trips. On another note, the house was grubby in places, I appreciate that this wasn't a luxury cottage but it would have been good to have been clean, dust and cobweb free. There is nowhere to store food, all cupboards are full therefore we had to keep the food we had brought with us in carrier bags on the floor. I look forward to hearing from you.

"The description was accurate and I was pleasantly surprised there was also a downstairs toilet which wasn't mentioned."
The decking area was lovely and the kitchen was spacious and well equipped and Asda very conveniently situated. The double bed room is small but the bed was comfortable and there was storage for clothes and bags. The cottage is convenient for the beach, shops restaurants and walks in nearby Criccieth and in Snowdonia. The free parking on the beach promenade was a 10 min walk which was expected from the description and we managed to find a space each day we took a trip out despite the beautiful weather, making the beach packed. The lounge is not really comfortable for 4 to watch the TV and the low decorative chandeliers were a head hazard. Not much storage space - Some coat hooks by the front door would be useful and better if the small chair and table in the lounge were removed so making room for our beach stuff and walking shoes. We had a very enjoyable stay and were very lucky to have warm sunny weather all week.

"The only thing that could have helped was proper written and clear instructions as to parking, - the nearest and cheapest was in fact a few minutes walk away."
ie at the Asda roundabout turn left ( instead of straight on to Kingshead street) and where road bends to the right turn left and parking is up,little lane on right.

"The cottage is really well equipped and comfy."
Very homely and warm. It's a cottage so it's quirky but we liked that and it was great for my dogs. Patio doors at back are not a good fit though and maybe need adjusting to fit properly. Parking was a bit difficult, need to provide a better map in the cottage pls. I got a parking ticket on the local car park until I realised where the long stay spaces were. Location generally really good close to main centre and shops. I would stay again.

"I had another lovely holiday at this warm, well equipped and comfortable cottage in early October."
I find it an ideal place for myself and my dog, right in town so close to amenities but also very quiet at night. The garden is completely enclosed which is definitely a bonus. On my first visit during these Covid times I was impressed with the cleanliness standards and efforts to comply with regulations. I find long term parking is best in the long stay car park at the back of Sand St, which is quiet and safe. I like this endearing quirky little cottage very much and find it a home from home when I visit the area. Will hopefully be back as soon as restrictions are lifted. Many thanks.

"A lovely cottage, well equipped with everything we needed and well located for all the area has to offer."
-
"This cottage is lovely; does need a little TLC here and there but nothing that can’t be fixed."
I would suggest that a cupboard would be useful to allow those holidaying to put their food etc away. We had a fab stay :)

"This holiday rental was a 50/50 there was some good aspects as well as bad."
On entering the property we where immediately disappointed, dark room covered in dust, as we made or way to the back things perked up the kitchen come sitting area was lovely very well equipped and with doors out to a lovely decking area although getting out the back door was a bit of a challenge opening and closing the door was a nightmare. The bin in the garden was full with bin bags all around (it was mentioned in the welcome pack about taking rubbish to the local recycling plant, which we did but I wondered why the owners couldn’t have done this before our arrival with the piles of rubbish that had been left?) the bedroom on the second floor is definitely not a double, it was was very small, and the third floor had adequate sleeping facilities but I would advise anybody with young children to give this property a wide berth the stairs leading up are very steep with no backs to the stairs like a ladder but with huge gaps, there is also no door to the room and banisters with very wide gaps. Having said all this the bed linen towels etc where good quality and location was good too. Would I come back...... if they addressed the issues I have raised then I definitely would.

"The house is a tale of two halves, the living room area thick with dust, the grasses bit of garden not fit for purpose with overgrown grass and a pathway full of nettles."
Loft room with falling down curtains and rusty broken lamps thrown in corner. However the kitchen diner and decking lovely , the bedding and towels very good quality, and the location superb (apart from parking issues) overall cottage felt welcoming and homely just need to sort out the garden and old clutter issues. Overall really enjoyed.

"I fantastic period property with some really nice touches, location is perfect."
Lots of room and two tvs so something for everyone.

"I had a great week in this lovely cottage."
It was clean, warm, comfortable and relaxing. It's just off the town centre but incredibly quiet at night. A great base for all of Pen Lleyn and beyond.

"The house is wonderful, we’ll be coming back!"
-
"Lovely quirky cottage with everything you need."
Great walks from the front door with the dogs and shops are 5 minutes away. Decorated for our stay over Christmas and heating already on when we arrived which was much appreciated as we had our Mum with us.
-
"Fantastic cottage, small cosy sitting room, with great fire, and a big open kitchen/ diner with patio and pleasant garden."
-
"This little house was very quirky, as you can tell by some of the photos, so that was no surprise."
There were a few things which could be sorted out, first of all the blind at the living room window, but I have to say that the house has comfy sofas and comfy beds and is well equipped and we enjoyed staying there. I really liked the kitchen diner and the cupboards are full of everything you could possibly need. It is just round the corner from shops and eateries and not too far from the beach and it is very quiet at night. Just one thing about the garden - if you are there with dogs, you will (like me) end up cleaning up extra as certainly one other critter is enjoying the facilities - maybe the pretty cat I met on the fence!
-
"Cottage was nice but one bed listed as double was not a full size double."
And grass needed cutting and rubbish bins overflowing and back door very hard to shut.
-
"Parking anywhere near the property is very difficult and perhaps should have been mentioned more."
Almost all of Pwllhli town is restricted or permit.so you have to pay for overnight parking.we found a spot but were shouted at by local residents who just didn't like us parking on their road. If you need to be close to your car it would be very difficult. The house was comfortable and quirky and well equipped nice quality bedding and towels and very quiet despite being in middle of town.

"The garden was covered in old dogs mess that was reported on the Sunday but no action until Thursday or Friday where on the Friday morning we noticed it had been cleared up."
With no tea towels, and advice that towels unlikely to be provided however paid for and a couple of other issues dirty coffee mugs, made us feel we did not want to be there. We bought our own mugs and tea towels. We did not use the cooker or any facilities provided apart from sleeping there and showering in the bathroom. Really disappointed and these issues spoilt our holiday. Regards Ian Murray
