  • "Nice Cottage situated behind owners house."

Parking is really close so unpacking the car is easy. The cottage overall was clean except for the bathroom with the bath in which had dark hairs on the sink, in the bath and bath plug drain (we didn't need to use this bathroom). The cottage is cozy, the lounge furniture is comfortable, the beds are a little on the firm side but comfortable. The Nisa Extra shop nearby is great and had everything we needed. We found some really lovely restaurants the New Celtic in Aberaeron and The Forest Arms in Brechfa well worth booking if you're out that way. There is lots to see and do in the surrounding area. The National Wool Museum is Free to visit and well worth spending a few hours (especially if it's raining) The Cenarth Falls has a lovely river walk and is £3 to park all day, there is a cafe nearby. The Aberaeron road to Aberystwyth has lovely coastal scenery and the A44 from Aberystwyth to Llangurig has breath taking views.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The enclosed garden is perfect for dogs and with its views of the hills is an ideal location to sit and relax. The location of the barn is handy for visiting lots of beaches and there is a food shop just around the corner if you fancy something quick for dinner. We would definitely stay here again!

  • "A fabulous barn conversion, better than new."

Very clean and tidy with most needed facilities. A dishwasher may be an improvement but hand washing up never hurts anyone and doesn’t take much time or effort. The immediate area is ok with good views from the property but the rest of west Wales leaves a lot to be desired. The roads are poor and the 20mph limit through towns and villages is ridiculous. Towns themselves appear drab, sometimes scruffy. North and south Wales are much nicer.

  • "We had a nice stay here but there were a couple of bits that we didn't enjoy."

We were surprised to find that the cottage is in the owners back garden and we had to drive through their entrance to the property to access the cottage. We prefer to be much more isolated on holidays and as others have commented we felt the lack of privacy with some windows not having curtains. This isn't what the photos of the property suggest. We were also very disappointed with the lack of dishwasher and will certainly be checking other properties in future for this. Have never stayed in a cottage without a dishwasher before but have never specifically checked for one either. Our bed was uncomfortable and we struggled to sleep towards the end of our stay. The sofas are also not very comfortable for lounging around on the wet days. The owners were helpful when we had a problem with the water and this was sorted quickly. The area around is beautiful and there is a lot to do so would definitely return to the area.

Just a few little bits that we picked upon which wouldn’t put us off returning. Bedroom door handle broken (the owner did tell us about this) Door storage in fridge broken, there was some dust in the bathroom extractor fan and the seal on the shower needs cleaning or replacing. However I would like to make it perfectly clear this would not stop us returning. Lots of little things like local milk, the dog treats, the chocolates left on the table. All of did say that we could happily live there

  • "We stayed for a week over Christmas and had a lovely time together as a family The accommodation looked outstanding front and rear, however inside although on first looks its beautiful there were a few minor issues we faced like cleanliness of the showers and the kitchen accessories, which we had to clean ourselves."

Also, there were large cobwebs throughout the premises. Could also do with a back light for the rear garden that isn't solar. The kitchen fridge is too small for the premises especially if you have a large family staying. The trays inside the fridge are old, dainted and fell apart if anything was placed onto them. However, it was manageable and we had a good time. The accommodation itself i believe is miss-sold by Skyes. The pictures are very deceiving. The property shown is actually located on the owners back garden literally 20 meters from their home. Next doors property's is even closer and with no curtains or blinds on some windows it gave sense of feeling that you were being watched. Llandysul is an ideal location to stay if you want to be close to some of West Wales stunning locations such as New Quay and Mwnt. Lastly, the owners were always available and were very friendly. I highly recommend staying here.

The only thing missing for us was a couple of table lamps in the sitting area. It's all down to personal preference, and also the time of year (!), but it would just have made it that bit cosier. The owners are welcoming, really friendly and helpful, they treat you as guests and not visitors. Unfortunately this region of Wales was left with no water supplies following the cold weather and damaged mains, but our hosts kindly kept us well supplied with bottled water. The cottage was well kept and presented. The garden safely enclosed and perfect for the dog. My only criticism was the large front windows and door with no curtains (only a net curtain). Firstly the lack of privacy that presents at night time, but the dog could see everything and so would bark at the owners comings and goings. Because of the open plan layout we had to use furniture to block the dog in to a corner each night so she wouldn’t disturb anyone.
