"Well equipped cottage and comfortable."
The stairs to the bedroom were steep and unfortunately the bathroom was downstairs. Maybe the bathroom could be updated with a walk in shower. Also parking was difficult on the street and it was a busy road But the cottage was really good despite these drawbacks and Clun is lovely

"Our third holiday at this lovely cottage and another wonderful holiday and we will defently be back again."
Owner and key holders really nice people. Tuc Tin is the place for a real relaxing holiday. The White Horse pub is excelent great meals and very friendly.

"Really enjoyed our stay at Tuc-Tin Cottage."
Property had everything we needed. It's exactly as described. Location is fantastic and we loved the village of Clun itself and loads more places to visit which are all a short drive away. Couple of minor negatives from our point of view were that the place inside & outside could do with a bit of a tidy up (cobwebs everywhere & garden overgrown) and also neighbour coming & going at free will to tend to the property's garden. Had to keep checking before we could let dog outside. However this didn't deter us from having a good stay in the cottage it just took the edge off a brilliant stay.

"Our second holiday at Tuc Tin and we shall be booking to go again."
Its alovely cosy cottage with alovely garden and beautiful walks form the door which are very dog friendly. Clun is such a friendly village with the White horse pub (great meals) and spar shop. If you want a relaxing and stress free holiday this is the place. The owner and key holders are very nice people and very help. Another great holiday booked with sykes. Thank you

Very homely and well equipped.

Easy reach of all tourist spots good restaurants and pubs nearby
-
"Lovely little cottage."
Cosy and warm. Great garden for my dog. Central location for this lovely village.
-
"It was a lovely break over the Xmas period."
The cottage had everything. The cottage was cosy and warm and had everything you needed. The recliners were perfect to put your feet up in the lounge in the evening. There is a choice of two pubs 5 mins walk away.
-
"Wonderful week at Tuc Tin great communication with both owner Charles and the caretakers at No 16 who were very helpful and kind."
The town of Clun has a fantastic friendly community.
-
"Another fabulous holiday booked through Sykes."
Wow Tuc Tin was such a lovely cottage we could not fault anything, immaculately clean, so comfortable, lovely garden for Bruce our boxer dog (and ourselves) and ideally located we could not ask for anything better. Great walks from the doorstep no need to take the car out. The White Horse a gem of a pub just around the corner (lovely meals), well stocked Spar. Clun and it People are so friendly and welcoming. We definitely return to this lovely cottage.
-
"We had a problem when the shower broke down on the Sunday but a new shower was installed by Monday teatime when we were out for the day."
-
"Problem with back door lock."
Toilet seat is broken and the toilet did not flush every time.
-
"Lovely cosy cottage."
Perfect location for exploring south Shropshire. Dog friendly. Outdoor space needs some attention and with neighbours freely accessing garden, perhaps not for those seeking privacy. The cottage also fronts a road that can be busy at times. We had a lovely time.
-
"Lovely warm cottage ."
Great location . patio area needs some attention , nice bench table but next to oil tank and boiler .. not pleasant. Would be nice if moved down the garden . As a dog friendly cottage great garden but neighbour uses veg patch and greenhouse which should be fenced off if dog friendly so not dug up !!!! and he doesn’t always close gates . This would not stop us returning but needs to be mentioned.
-
"Would just like to point out that the patio flags are very slippery when wet"

Tuc Tin is a lovely little cottage the owner was very accommodating and the key holder at number 16 was very friendly and helpful parking right outside the door

"We love this cottage, it's the second time we have stayed, it's lovely and warm, really cozy with reclining sofa, although a small kitchen there is everything you need to cook a meal, we stayed at Christmas and cooked a Christmas meal."
Two fantastic pubs just a short walk from the cottage, had a meal in 1 which was lovely and reasonably priced, locals very friendly, great walks with the dog straight out the door, especially around the castle. Steve at number 16 was very helpful and answered any questions. We book a couple of cottages each year and this is one of the best, I don't know why it isn't fully booked.
-
"Really lovely break in this cute little cottage well placed in the pretty village of Clun, The cottage was homely and comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing break."
-
"Lovely one bedroom cottage in the centre of Clun and you can see the castle ruins from the front windows."
Very comfortable, a real home from home. It has everything that a couple could need for a stay and there is a long garden which catches the sun and is ideal if you have a dog. Great walks into the country from the cottage. It is on the main road through the village but this wasn't a problem for us and we were always able to park outside. This was our second stay.
-
"The cottage was spotless and very comfortable."
Beautiful setting in the Shropshire Hills with a shop and a traditional pub just a minute’s walk away.
-
"This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful location."
We sat in the garden in the evenings watching the birds, we never had trouble parking there was always plenty of space. The local people were very friendly. The local pubs served good food and were reasonably priced. Visited some outstanding places such as Ludlow and Ironbridge. Would recommend.
-
"Very comfortable cottage in peaceful location."
Steep cottage stairs need highlighting in information but were no problem for us.
-
"Cosy, comfortable cottage for two with easy stairs up to the spacious bedroom."
The garden is a real bonus for enjoying the sunshine and a great selection of birds. A couple of garden chairs would be appreciated, although we managed to perch on the garden wall, much to the amusement of the friendly neighbours.
-
"Had a great stay and enjoyed it."
-
"Lovely little cottage, warm and cosy, loved the reclining chairs"
-
"Cosy character cottage, spotlessly clean, in the centre of the village."
It had all that you would need for a lovely stay, including a very comfy bed. The down side is a down stairs bathroom, steep stairs and being straight on to an occasionally busy road. But non of these impacted on our stay so would consider a return visit.
-
"We loved the cottage, the owner clearly spent time and plenty of effort to get the cottage to its present state."
Only criticism is that as the key is with a neighbour and they knew we would be arriving late Friday evening, it would have been nice if they had popped in put a light on and switched heating on. We arrived as i said late to a totally dark cold cottage. That said everything else was spot on
-
"Lovely cottage, excellent location."
-
"Had a lovely few days, owner and key holder very friendly."
Great location in a nice area which was great for walking and the pubs were good (nice beer) with everyone being very friendly. In terms of the cottage I would recommend maybe a table and chairs in the garden itself (most of it is used for fruit and veg but there could be room and this might be nicer than the seating outside the kitchen which due to weather felt a bit dark and damp - we were lucky rest of week with dry weather hence maybe seating further down would be a nice option if there for longer. The cottage has been done out really nicely- very cosy downstairs with a really nice size bedroom upstairs. If you struggle with mobility the stairs do have a narrow footing and the bathroom is downstairs :) Kitchen had everything we needed and really helpful to have some cleaning products available (not always the case). Overall a great stay and one we would do again.

"What a find!"
Very clean and comfortable, and truly dog friendly with internal doors allowing us to easily prevent our dog going into other rooms while wet or dirty etc. Lovely enclosed garden with gated access to the park beyond. Friendly neighbours. We will return!
-
"Great little base to explore Shropshire"
-
"Tic-Tin is a traditional homely ycottage with all expected utilities in a friendly picturesque village with riverside walks and a ruined castle."
The property was very clean and welcoming.A good base for exploring the Shropshire/Welsh borders with pubs and shops close by. The owner made sure we had all we needed and knew how to work the cooker and TV. We enjoyed our holiday in our hideaway place.
-
"Wasn't totally clear re use of back garden or just terrace."
-
"Cottage was spotless and laundry good quality."
Lovely spot in lovely village. The only downside was parking on the road but there was always room
-
"This is comfortable and well equipped cottage which was spotlessly clean."
We were welcomed by the very helpful caretaker who lives next door. The cottage makes a great based for exploring the South Shropshire Hills and surrounding areas. There were only a few slight negatives, we found the cottage a little gloomy especially the living room and decor is a little dated . There is a nice seating area just outside the back door but the rest of garden is not particularly private and neighbours who tend the garden tend to come in without notice, also for our very small dog the garden was not dog safe due to gaps in the fence so we had to keep him on the lead all week.
-
"Lovely little cosy cottage."
Brilliant location. Very friendly people. Lovely pubs. Everything we needed.
-
"The cottage had a very nice feel about it."
The settee was a very welcoming recliner. The shower worked well in the nice bathroom. Central heating warmed the whole cottage. Pub and shop within easy walking distance. Nearby Castle ruins(access to it not easy but doable). River Clun to watch run under quaint bridge with tea shop and free Carpark close by. What more could you want.
-
"The cottage was excellent everything we could have hoped for."
A major plus was the lovely garden that we and our dog could enjoy!
-
"The village and area around had stunning scenery."
Cottage had a lovely garden to relax in after a day of walking and sight seeing which was a bonus.Local 2 pubs served lovely food and staff very friendly.
-
"Suprised by the volume of very heavy traffic passing extremely close to the front door of the cottage."
-
"This was a second visit for us the last was a warm week in july this time we ..."
This was a second visit for us the last was a warm week in july this time we were in the middle of the storms however it did not spoil our week I was a bit surprised how tired the living area was The quilt on the bed was a summer weight I did find another one the covers were well worn The bathroom was in need of a new shower curtain and the shower head would not stay in its holder the shower head had to be held There was a horrible fishy smell when we opened the door to the staircase and a heavy smell of b o I used up the air freshners that were in the bathroom
-
"A lovely warm cosy cottage,we have visited Clun many times but this was the first time in TUCTIN we would happily book again, the only slight problem is parking on the busy road however their is a large free cark park nearby,a short walk from the cottage."
-
"Tuc Tin is a very nice cottage ideal for couples in a nice little Town with a couple of pubs selling nice food and a good selection of drinks, there is also a very good handy Spar selling everything you need, all this within a couple of minutes walk."
The cottage has a lovely garden and a nice small terrace to sit out on. The only small issue with the cottage can be the traffic and parking. With just a two foot wide footpath outside on an A road, traffic can be noisy at times, but when quiet very quiet. Dont expect a lie in here. Parking can be a problem with at times having to park 100 yards away. Overall the cottage has everything for a pleasant stay. One piece of advice though for the owner could be to replace the rather tired shower curtain and ageing towels.
-
"Despite the appearance from outside, the cottage was spotlessly clean and well appointed."
The fittings, furnishings and equipment were all good quality. Although there was only one small sofa for us to share, this was a recliner which more than made up for it. There was plenty to do in the games cupboard. I was especially taken with the drawer full of art supplies.. If I could draw/paint, I would certainly made use of those. Bed comfy, garden beautiful, lovely village and people, great pubs, especially enjoyed the food at the White Horse. We were very happy with every aspect of our holiday, thank you!
-
"Just loved the cottage, perfect week for a completely relaxing and getting away from the daily grind."
Beautifully crafted woodwork and you could see that I lot of work had gone into make this a cosy cottage. The village was small and friendly and would definitely want to go back again. The bathroom was as little old fashioned but perfectly functional. It would have been nice to have Wifi but that it a personal preference and certainly not essential. It was just so nice having a proper home from home and it suited our needs perfectly.
-
"Had a great time at tuc tin the weather was a real bonus the village excuse me it is a town according to the locals The cottage was good but the garden was quite steep and I don,t think I would recommend it for people with walking difficulties similarly the stairs were quite steep."
The garden could be enjoyed if a small bistro set or even 2 garden chairs were available Parking was also an issue as the cottage was on a main road and the residents had their cars parked there. I would return again as it is in a beautiful spot for exploring and walking and the white horse pub serves nice meals and also offers breakfast and take-aways
-
"If you enjoy walking you can leave from the back gate of the cottage through a pretty flower and vegetable garden to a variety of country walks."
Suggest you pick up a small walking guide book from the Clun gift shop. The cottage has all the facilities you need. It’s a delight
-
"Road very noisy."
Garden not as private as led to believe. Neighbours very nice but use garden and greenhouse for growing things. Come and go as they wish. Not comfortable for us as very private people
-
"Nice, comfortable cottage and exactly what we wanted."
.very friendly village, great local pub: what's not to love.. The road can be a little noisy as it seems to be on the main road through the village and large vehicles do use it, but you get used to it, pretty quickly..
-
"This is a very nice little cottage with a pretty garden and served us well as a base to go and explore Shropshire."
Lovely bedroom with comfortable bed and enough facilities. The sofa was a bit jaded but did the job. the neighbours were very helpful and Clun has a nice ambience.

Lovely cosy cottage , welcoming hosts , ideal for local walks , well placed close to amenities lovely enclose garden - highly recommended

"Spoke to owner a couple of days before arriving at cottage he told us that the keys would be at the neighbours a couple of doors down the road when we got there about 2 45pm they were out and the keys were left out side with a note on a pair of step ladders in outside passage way."
when we opened door the place was freezing we put on heating the bathroom heating didn't work the fans in bathroom was disgusting all full of dirt the lampshades were dirty all cobwebs behind doors the fire place hadn't been cleaned at all full of old ash and the grate looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for months. tv was dusty and sticky the place looked dark and dingy the outside in places was overgrown and wasn't very nice at all. in my opinion I wouldn't recommend tuc tin cottage didn't even spend a night there walked in and walked out again when we contacted sykes they didn't want to know in my opinion offered 40 pounds compensation which I thought was a insult we should have got our money back.
Further to our recent conversations, I can confirm that the normal check in at this property is 3.30pm. The keys were left for you as a 'one off' on this occasion, as you were arriving early, which the owner was happy to accommodate. As previously advised our booking conditions do state 'that if you have any issue at a property we ask that you contact the owner or Sykes to give the owner the opportunity to resolve the issue'. Unfortunately, you did not call the owner or Sykes to ask for any assistance. You left the property and requested a full refund, which the owner was unwilling to provide as you did not give him the opportunity to resolve any issue that you found. This property constantly receives great feedback as you can read on our website. We are sorry you are unhappy with the outcome. Property Owner

"Home from home."
-
"Lovely cottage and village."
People really friendly.
-
"Cottage was very comfortable everything was there that we needed and more a lot of thought had gone into it"
-
"Bathroom and toilet down stairs bit of a struggle in middle of the night going down the steep stairs."
Also Castle Street is an extremely busy and noisey road. Found it hard to find a car parking space and we stayed out of season.

Traditionally-furnished throughout with an old world cast iron range, it really captures the original character of the cottage.
Downstairs, there is an open plan living and dining area, with a stunning arched stone fireplace housing the freestanding old-fashioned range, with oven and small fire cradle offering the novelty of the warming glow of a natural fire during the cold months.
The separate kitchen enjoys countryside views.
Upstairs, there is a comfortably spacious bedroom with a craftsman-fitted pine, overlapped floor and a large thick rug, extending either side of the bed to add extra cosiness.
Tuc-Tin garden has a stone patio, which has a combined bench seat and table, ideal for eating outdoors during the warm weather.
There is a pleasant, enclosed lawned area for relaxing and sunbathing in, with an arched bench seat at the bottom of the garden to suit the afternoon sun.
The 800-year old Clun Castle ruins can be seen from from Tuc-Tin, approximately one hundred yards away, with the hills of the beautiful Shropshire countryside beyond.
With two pubs in the village, as well as tea rooms and high quality butchers, there is everything you need on your doorstep.
The surrounding towns and villages are all easy to get to and a half-hour ride can take you to Ludlow, Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Long Mynd, amongst many more idyllic places to visit.

This is a fantastic property for couples to enjoy all year round.
About the location
CLUN
Bishop's Castle 6 miles; Ludlow 18 miles.
A.E. Houseman's poem, A Shropshire Lad, defined Clun as 'the quietest place under the sun', and with its dramatic ruin of a Norman castle, Saxon church, the bustling river which flows under the 14th century pack horse bridge, and a country inn, Clun is a rural gem situated in the South Shropshire Hills. It lies on the Shropshire Way in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to the border of Wales, an area known as The Marches. This unspoilt part of Britain has an abundance of wildlife and beautiful unhindered walking and cycling routes winding their way through the countryside with the Clun and Kerry Forests, Offa's Dyke, and Kerry Ridgeway all close by. There are a wide range of festivals and shows on offer in the surrounding area throughout the year, including The Green Man festival in May. From Clun, you can also enjoy exploring the historic towns of Bishop's Castle, Presteigne, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, and Hereford, a must for visitors.
