  • "We had great stay, the property is well placed to visit several area’s of the coast."

The kitchen was well equipped with all we required. Everyone found the bedrooms and beds very comfortable. You might want to checkout the electric Shower, couldn’t seem to get any hot water, But other than that, everything else was fine. Handy for the station to visit Barmouth and Aberdovey, both a short train ride. We were lucky that the local pub had reopened the week before. Would definitely return here.

We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Hendre Hall also has a great bar and café. We're really pleased you enjoyed visiting the local area and pub in the village. We wish you had contacted us about the shower as we could have sent someone out straight away to fix. It was organised as soon as we saw your feedback. We hope to welcome you again at Tawelfan. • "Very spacious place and exciting location."

Walking distance to the sea side where both kids and adults can have a nice time. Short drive away is a steam train which the kids really enjoyed. This train takes you to lovely sandy beach. At home loads of activities for both children and adults.

We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back to enjoy family time together at Tawelfan and the beautiful village of Llwyngwril in the future. Property Owner

We weren t sure how it would be when we booked it. Everyone thought it was very good. The beds etc were clean and comfortable. All the equipment we needed. There were a few cosmetic tweaks that could improve it but they didn t make any difference to us. It was very good

We're really pleased you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back. We will keep up to date with inspections and make sure we maintain any cosmetic needs. We appreciate your feedback. Property Owner

  • "A Perfect Family Retreat!"

We had an amazing stay at this holiday let with our family, spanning three generations! The house had space for everyone. The beds were comfortable and the downstairs bedrooms and shower made it great for our family members that could not go up stairs easily. The communal areas were perfect for spending quality time together, the large living room was perfect and cozy with the log burner. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare family meals, and the large dining table meant we could all sit together, which was a real highlight. Everything was very clean. The location was ideal. Being right opposite the beach, café/bar and children’s play ground was a big bonus. The views are stunning, such a beautiful area to explore. It is close to activities for the younger ones, but also peaceful enough for us to unwind. We visited Barmouth and walked along the pedestrian bridge and took a train ride to PorthMadog that was free for our Welsh relatives with their bus pass! We also visited Aberdovey and the Talyllyn Railway in Tywyn which were great trips. Communication with the hosts was excellent. They provided clear instructions for check-in, and were quick to respond to any questions we had. We really appreciated the local recommendations and thoughtful touches, like amenities in the kitchen and bathrooms, they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We can’t wait to return for our next family holiday!

So lovely to hear you enjoyed your time together as a family. We love that families can be together and spend quality time witheach other. Always glad to help. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

The property is well-kept and clean, very spacious, has all the amenities we could think of. The facility is located very close to the beach, which is an additional advantage for families with children. Definitely worth recommending.

We're really happy you enjoyed your stay. The beach is so lovely there. We hope you enjoyed the café/bar opposite and the children's playground too. Property Owner

  • "There were lots of positives about Tawelfan."

The location was great, lovely village - even though the pub has sadly closed down. Great to have a station which gives access up and down the coast. The house was clean, lovely dining room with a table to fit us all round comfortably and a really good big living room. Beds were comfortable and bedrooms generally good although the ground floor twin room was a bit cramped. Good selection of childrens toys and the table football was a big hit! However, there were some negatives. Firstly no instructions/arrival pack for how anything worked, no information about the village, buses, trains, amenities etc. This is REALLY important. We had no information about rubbish collection, recycling - no spare bin bags or recycling bags were provided - how the heating, wifi or TV etc. worked. An OS map of the area would be really useful. Secondly the washing machine was broken which was a BIG negative, especially as we had a baby and three young children with us and only two tea towels and one hand towel in each bathroom were provided for a whole week! This needs to be fixed urgently. Similarly there should have been soap/handwash in each bathroom. A catch/chain to hold the drive gate open is a must as it just swings shut meaning anyone on their own could not drive out. The hot water in the bedroom on the first floor didn't work. Hooks are needed in the downstairs toilet for those of us who were sleeping on the ground floor to hang up towels. Having to put them on the floor was not great! A mirror above the sink in there would be useful too. The hot water was ferociously hot which was dangerous with small children. Mixer taps would make it safer. The top bathroom needs a blind, and seems to have a family of woodlice living in it! The kitchen is cramped for a house sleeping up to 16 people. Plenty of crockery and cutlery but a better pan selection would have been useful. Maybe some better use could be made of the dead space between the kitchen and the living room? Some helpful suggestions - Kitchen: A larder freezer would be much better than the chest freezer. The fridge was inadequate for the number of people and seems very wet. Anything with a cardboard wrapper got sodden. No pans for the induction hob so it was not usable. The LED panel on the microwave doesn't work and no instructions so no idea how to make it do anything. No dishbrushes, cleaning cloths etc. Door handles on the doors would be useful! Finally, the fire alarm went off at about 7.40am on the last morning! Is this a scheduled weekly test or a wake up call to get us all out?? Or just a fault? Whichever, information about it is needed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it has the potential to be a great house with a little more attention to detail.

Thank you for your feedback! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the living and dining areas, they are great spaces to spend quality family time. We always encourage guests to reach out during their stay, as we’re here to help with any issues that may arise; unfortunately, we didn’t receive any communication from you. The cafe/bar and farm shop across the street are still open, and the downstairs twin bedroom is used comfortably by our family members and guests with accessibility in mind. We provide a digital welcome pack with helpful information that we could have sent via another way if we’d known couldn't access it through the Sykes app. Our supplies to guests include bin bags, washing up liquid, hand soap, dishwasher tabs and toilet roll, we’re sorry if anything was missing, this could have been sorted straight away. We don’t advertise having a washing machine , but we’re planning to add one in the next 2 months. Each bathroom has hand towels and all guests also have a large towel each. We have 2 towel racks and a clothes dryer for your convenience downstairs, plus hooks in the walk in shower. We appreciate your feedback and can add additional hooks. We can comfortably accommodate 14 guests, (it is not a 16 guest house) with plenty of dining space and kitchen amenities. Just a reminder to ensure the fridge door is closed properly. All kitchen items are accounted for, including induction pan set and we’ve added a new microwave. The gate is held open with a rock so all guests can use the entrance alone or with others. We’ve checked the fire alarm, and it’s functioning perfectly. The concerns you raised could have been easily resolved during your stay, and we truly wish you had reached out for assistance. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Very well located and huge."

.. ideal for large family group as we were. Adequate in all ways but more of a hostel feeling than comfy home. Would have appreciated more 'niceties' ..eg. we had to go and buy washing up liquid, dish washer tabs, hand soap and toilet paper. Unusual in our experience for this size and price point property

Thank you for your feedback. We're really glad you found the location and size great for your family. It's our aim for families to be able to spend quality time together. The facilities you mention are supposed to be there as a minimum. We're really sorry they weren't there for you. There is a telephone number for you to contact if the things are not there, someone would have brought them over for you. We always welcome feedback and suggestions. Property Owner

  • "It was such a shame because it’s a lovely house in a lovely village but there was a serious plumbing issue which included a leaking ceiling, through an electrical fitting, no hot water for the entire stay, and two faulty showers."

Between seven adults and our infants, we were a) seriously lacking the facilities we required with only one working shower and no hot water and b) scared about the water getting in the electrics, which turned out to be a fair concern when the electrics blew. Despite previous knowledge about the issue, and a maintenance person who we had seen but had failed to fix the problem, the property owner tried to blame us and refused to refund us, instead offering a cynical 70% discount on our next stay. Very disappointing, particularly given we had several babies under six months old with us and had been in full cooperation with the maintenance person. You’ll have a lovely stay, if nothing goes wrong.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify. The handy man you met on arrival was there for a separate matter and had no knowledge of a leak. We responded quickly to your report by sending a handyman and electrician as we were eager to immediately respond to the problem. Unfortunately, they were unable to enter the house, as they were declined entry by guests from your party who were there. After your stay, we offered you a refund, which you accepted and have received, along with a discount for a future visit. We’re sorry to see that your account differs from this, and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back. The problem was fixed immediately upon the electricians visit. Property Owner
