• "Entering the property upon arrival was easy using the key box."

  Inside we found that tea, coffee, cooking oil, salt & pepper as well as washing up liquid/tabs were all provided in the well-equipped kitchen. This was a major plus point after arriving very early in the morning. The accommodation was generally very comfortable, with one major exception as reported by many previous guests, namely the double bed in the guest room with a deeply sagging mattress, unfortunately making it unusable by adults. It's a great shame this has not been addressed. The hot tub was clean and a big hit with our kids, the only negative being the cover, which has no grab handles and was thus difficult to move. The only other minor niggle was navigating the approach road and the division of the site into two halves with a fence inbetween (why?), which are not shown clearly on online maps. All in all we'd recommend Sun View Lodge as a very nice place to stay!

  Thank you for the feedback. Regarding the Mattress, this was addressed and the mattress replaced in April. We appreciate that mattresses are a personal preference but this particular one was highly recommended. The Entrance to the Site is outwith our control and the responsibility of the Site Owner. They are in fact separate sites which is why there is a dividing fence. This division was done early this year but we will raise the issue with the Site Owner that it needs to be rectified on the site map. Your feedback is important to us. Elaine and Matr Property Owner

• "Loved the property."

  The only improvements I think could be made would be new mattress in upstairs double room and tweak the lock on the front door so that the key turns easier.

  Thank you for the feedback. So sorry you found the Mattress uncomfortable in the upstairs bedroom but in fact this is a brand new mattress and only a few weeks old. Mattresses are a personal preference and we appreciate that we can't suit everyone. Apologies that you had a problem with the lock, but if the key is entered directly into the keyhole it does turn quite easily but we will get this checked out. feedback is always important to us. • "Comfortable accommodation and we felt the owners genuinely wanted us to enjoy the lodge."

  long term dust around some areas of the lodge along with long term spiders webs. Our personal preference was having a shower so effectively we all shared one bathroom. An overhead shower in the upstairs bathroom would be a bonus. A socket near mirrors in the bedrooms would be a bonus for hairdryers and tongs etc Positive feedback not negative comment

  Thank you for the 'feedback'. We will investigate the long term dust and spiders webs. The Lodge is thoroughly cleaned between guests by our housekeeping team so hopefully these were on the wooden rafters outside the property. There are sockets in the Master bedroom beside the chest of drawers where the mirror is and also sockets in the downstairs bedroom which has a very large mirror on the wall which is easliy reached for hair drying purposes. Perhaps we need to advise this in our Information booklet. Property Owner

• "Cabin was lovely, very clean and had everything you would need."

  Very well equipped kitchen, fabulous size so good for family of 5. Marked comfort down for following reasons - cabin was very cold on our arrival, we tried everything to get heaters working but only one in downstairs bedroom would turn on. We go no answer from any of the available phone numbers and no calls back for message left. We did, thankfully, fund small oil heater which worked. All beds had lovely duvets and pillows and really nice linnen. Unfortunately the master bedroom bed mattress needs replacing, exceptionally soft and very uncomfortable and frame very wobbly so made for uncomfortable sleep. Overall, lovely cabin, great amenities, beautiful location, great local things to do. Just needs some small attention to improve it to perfect!

  Thank you for the feedback. Regarding the Lodge Temperature - apologies for it being cold on arrival, we usually expect the Housekeepers to ensure the Lodge is warm for your arrival. However, there are clear, printed instructions beside each radiator with instructions to adjust the radiators as needed. Not sure which telephone numbers you were using as the lodge is 'managed' on our behalf with 'Sykes', when they are contacted they ALWAYS phone us directly with any issues and we are able to instruct our housekeepers to deal with anything promptly or when we can, we contact guests directly ourselves. Our sincere apologies that this didn't happen. The Mattress in the upstairs Master bedroom is brand new and was replaced at the beginning of May 2024! Your 'feedback' is important to us and we will definitely investigate why there was no response to the telephone numbers. There are no other telephone numbers provided by us at the Lodge. • "WiFi wasnt working at all."

  Hot water wasnt on constantly and we had no hot water last day. Boiler switched off automatically. We shouldn’t worry about stuff like that. Not very clear instructions of jacuzzi manual. Lid was very heavy and with all handles broken it was nightmare to put it back on. However amazing surrounding. Very nice vibe inside. We had teas coffees and some biscuits too. Enough space towels Very quiet around.

  So sorry to read some of your issues. We do give clear instructions for the WiFi in the information booklet and not sure why it wasnt working for you during your stay. It can be temperamental which is not within our control. We do advise you of this in our information booklet. if you had contacted Sykes about the Hot Water and Boiler issue then we could have arranged for one of our Housekeepers to check out the problem and get it resolved. We are prone to power cuts in the area which may have occured during your stay, we do advise this in our information booklet and give clear instructions for the Boiler. There are also instructions next to the boiler. But thank you for staying in our Lodge and all Feedback is important to us. Property Owner

• "Really nice lodge, very clean with everything provided that you would need."

  The hot tub is small for the number the lodge can sleep. 3 great pubs in walking distance.

• "Incredible lodge with EVERYTHING you need already there!"

  Whilst this is self catering the owners have gone above and beyond with what’s provided. Things that we brought with us that we didn’t need… Kitchen Roll Toilet Roll Tin foil Cling film Salt Pepper Coffee Tea Sugar Plenty of towels To name just a few Thank you for a lovely stay we can’t wait to come back!   Mattress is not comfortable at all Sat in hot tub all i see is cobwebs and spiders House was clean And the sofas are flat wow defo need new ones And check out time has to be 12 Had to wake up 3 kids before 8 shower breaky then empty the fridge and cupboards tidy all before 10 never again 633£ for less than 48 hrs nah

  One of the party (of 6) would have benefitted from better indoor lighting but overall a good time was had by all. Would recommend the lodge to other prospective holiday makers.

• "We had a great time in Wales and all the extras in the cabin was great and very much appreciated (games, books, kitchen accessories etc) the owners have gone above and beyond with this but the cabin itself needs some diy."

  The door handles were really loose and I feared they might come off and lock one of us in a room! The hot tub cover needs replacing as it’s become waterlogged and smells awful! This combined with no daily testing of the water left the tub unusable after a couple of days use despite us showering prior to use. We know the water quality is important being a hot tub owner ourselves but this was never checked and nothing left for us to check ourselves which was disappointing! The bed downstairs was really uncomfortable we could feel every spring and was very snug for 2 adults! The sofas in lounge could also do with being replaced - obviously these are pieces of furniture that’s being used all the time so it’s understandable that they felt well used but it just gave the cabin a very tired feel and we didn’t get a good nights sleep any night which was a shame. The kids had the upstairs rooms which seemed fine and the added little games room was a big hit but unfortunately the wifi is pretty much non existent, it connects to the cabin but not to the internet so anyone relying on this would have trouble. Fortunately we weren’t worried about the wifi. Just basic tv aswell although it’s got sky we couldn’t watch any movies or certain sky tv channels as needed a pin which wasn’t given!

  HI Emma, Thank you for taking the time to provide this 'feedback. We are very pleased you and your family enjoyed staying at our Lodge but would like to respond to some of your concerns. We took ownership of the Lodge less than 12 months ago along with the furniture, fittings and Hot tub. We are gradually replacing items as necessary which is why 'feedback' is so important to us. Firstly, the door handles, this is the first time there has been an issue raised and did cause some alarm that you felt you could be locked in one of the rooms! I have had all the door handles thoroughly checked and although they are all as old as the Lodge and in line with the style of the Lodge, please be assured that they are in good working order. Secondly, the Hot tub - we agree the cover is 'tired' but definitely not waterlogged and foul smelling. it is thorouhgly cleaned after each guest whether that being weekly or in some cases can be 2 - 3 times per week depending on length of stays. We have tried to get a replacement cover but this is prvong very difficult due to the age of the Hot tub. Regarding the upkeep and the cleanliness of the Hot tub, this is emptied, thoroughly cleaned, disenfected and refilled with the PH of the water checked and chlorinated between guests. We do not have a Maintenance Team on such a small site for daily checks and are not allowed to leave such equipment out for guests due to the dangers to small children and other health and safety reugulations. We do advise guests shower prior to using the Hot tub. Had we known that you had concerns during your stay, our Housekeeping Team could have assisted. Thirdly, the downstairs bedroom is advertised as having a 'double' bed and the mattress was replaced last year so we were surprised to learn that you felt the springs. The sofas were not replaced when we purchased the Lodge and we have had minimal complaints regardiing them but will be replacing them at some point in the future. Finally, the 'wifi' is 4g network reliant on the capacity available in that area and unfortunately at the mercy of the network provider which is beyond our control. We don't advertise having 'sky', currently provide 'freeview' channels only hence the reason we don't provide or have any need for a 'pin number'. However, we do provide a wide range of DVD's suitable for Adults and children. Hopefully, we have covered all your points raised and once again 'thank you' for choosing our lovely Lodge for a holiday. Best regards, Elaine and Matt. Property Owner

• "We were in love with the cabin!"

  The owners were so accommodating and kind. It was all decorated for Christmas and the owners allowed us to decorate for our birthdays. It was so peaceful and chilled, just what we needed when life is so hectic in Dec. The hot tub was a great hit and we spent a lot of time in it. I have already recommended it to several people and will def be back in the summer.
