  • "Open plan and modern layout."

Well thought out and tasteful. From the welcoming text message to the final farewell we enjoyed every minute. Within a 5 minute walk of the shops, castle and pub. When we went, Storm Bert was raging away, but with the log burner, the heating units (which were incredibly efficient) we could sit and enjoy the view in toasty comfort. Dog owners beware they pamper the dogs more than us with bowls, throws, treats and blankets. This is a little jewel in the heart of Snowdonia and can not recommend enough. We will be back Sara and Nick.

Hi Gary Thankyou so much for your fantastic review, we are so pleased that you had such a great time at the property before the build up to Christmas! It’s our pleasure to make sure all our guests are happy and we are glad that you found our contact helpful and the small touches such as our doggy throws and treats/toys welcoming. Thankyou also for recommending our property to others as a jewel in snowdonia, which just sums it up perfectly. Hope you and your four legged friend will stay again - (maybe not during thevstorm next time) as you will be very welcome! The property has been fully renovated to a high standard with everything you need. The personal touches like dog towels, blankets and treats for our furbabies was a welcome surprise. Text messages from Sara and Nick to make sure we are ok and don’t need anything was great. The comfort is exceptional and with It being only 2 mins walk from Harlech Castle and village centre with pubs shops, you have everything you need. Visits to Barmouth and Porthmadog are a must with short 20 minute drives. Overall 10/10

  • "This was our first visit to Harlech and we definitely made the right property choice!"

Hafod Y Bryn is a stunning property that has been completed to an exceptionally high standard. The first thing we noticed upon entering the house was the wonderful smell, it smelt fresh, clean and quite frankly delightful! The property has the lounge/kitchen on the 1st floor along with 2 very large sized double bedrooms. A bathroom with a shower is also on this upper level. The ground floor contains a stunning bathroom with a beautiful deep fill bath and separate shower cubicle. Across the hall is another large double bedroom with a patio door leading onto a small enclosed terrace area which has a small table and chairs. The lounge is designed in an open plan way encompassing a large kitchen with a great range of appliances including an air fryer, toaster, washing machine and dishwasher. Electric blinds hang above stunningly wide sliding patio doors that open up onto a Juliet balcony with amazing views of the royal golf course, sand dunes and open sea views. The wood burning stove is also delightful and on the two occasions we used it, it just made the wet and cold evenings super cosy. Throughout the property the furnishings all appear to be premium and look fantastic, attention to detail was amazing throughout the property. You can clearly tell the owners care about their guest and want to provide a wonderful experience for them - whomever designed this property needs to come to my home and give me some interior design tips! Bedding and towels are provides and again this quality of this was fantastic - it almost felt like we were the first people to ever stay in this delightful property. One of the things we really appreciated was the doggie goodies that the owners kindly left for our two dogs - it was a wonderful touch! The owners even provide dog towels and feeding dishes. The included cleaning products allowed us to keep the house as spotlessly clean as we could. We even had washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets! Each bathroom also had hand soap and mini toiletries in the main bathroom. It was quite wet and miserable when we visited and the evenings cold, however the electric heating works brilliantly, we only needed the heating on for around an hour before we turned it back off. The drive outside is pretty steep and it can be challenging to navigate with a larger vehicle, however once your confidence builds it does get easier to park throughout your stay, Harlech is a wonderful quaint little village, the property is located only a few metres from the famous Harlech castle which is lit up in pink in the evening and looks stunning! The walk from to the beach takes you down a very steep hill and steps, it took around 20 mins for us to walk there - but it is so worth it, Harlech beach is simply stunning! There is a small high street with lots of eateries around and some other independent shops. The shop at the top of the hill is like an Aladdin's cave, i loved it and the staff were just so helpful - you could literally buy anything in here, and at great prices! The Chinese also does a mean chicken curry! The location is ideal for travelling around North Wales - our visit to Snowdon took around 1hr 20 mins to drive too, through the most stunning scenery. Barmouth (a wonderful seaside town with an amazing viaduct you can walk across) around a 25 min drive away. Beddgelert, another stunning Welsh village is around a 45 min drive away. In summary i can not recommend this property enough. Both my partner and I wish to return. It really does feel like a home from home! It is without doubt the best holiday rental home we have ever stayed in. Thank you also to Sara and Nick who messaged us prior to arriving at the property and then again towards the end of our stay. You both truly have a beautiful home!

Hi Jason Thankyou so much for taking the time the write such an amazing and detailed review - your feedback is really appreciated. • "Lovely views out to sea, well appointed house in the heart of Harlech."

The downstairs bedroom felt a little damp but was fine once heating was on. Only one issue was parking, there is free parking in the town but this is only for an hour during the day so second car needed to be moved several times a day. The evening was fine because it was free parking from 6pm until 9am. We did have a lovely time and will be back but with only one car.

Hi Michelle Thankyou for your review, we are pleased that you had lovely time and would want to return again. Sorry that you had a bit of an issue with the parking but unfortunately the property listing does state parking available for only one car, however perhaps next time it might be worth noting that there is plenty of free unlimited parking a 3 minute walk from the property, should you need it next time! Hope will you book with us again - you will be very welcome! Best regards Sara and Nick (property owners - Hafod y bryn) Property Owner

  • "Thank you for our stay in your beautiful home."

Immaculately presented with wonderful views (apart from the trees and foliage blocking the sea view from some angles ). A couple of points for thought - we struggled with no dining table as the breakfast bar eating arrangements were unsociable and uncomfortable. We couldn’t play games on there or have our usual family time. The property was hard to find with the postcode and we struggled. It is wholly unsuitable for my aging parents who were unable to manage the hill at all. The only other point I would like to add is the lack of cutlery - meaning the dishwasher was on twice a day as we ran out after breakfast! The young adults managed to spill a drink on their bedding but thankfully I’d bumped into your lovely cleaner who was able to help us in providing spare linen as we washed it but could dry it ! It might be useful to leave a spare set. She is an angel and an asset to your property. We were touched by the attention to detail for the dogs - the treats and towels were lovely to have available thank you.

Hi Andrew Thankyou for your feedback , I am pleased that you found the property immaculate and enjoyed the sea. views! We are surprised you didn’t find the property comfortable enough as all our other guests have all been more than happy with the modern layout/breakfast kitchen. Sorry the hill was a bit of a challenge for you but as a property owner this is not something I can or would want to rectify - Harlech is built on a hill for a reason being home to one of the most magnificent castles In wales and is also famous for its stunning views and worlds steepest street! Perhaps you would be more suited to a flatter part of wales next time you book a holiday. Sara and Nick (property Owners - Hafod y bryn) Property Owner

  • "The property is modern and very well maintained."

The goodies for us and the treats for our dog were a lovely welcome surprise. The property is in a perfect elevated location in the centre of Harlech just yards from the castle. Great views over Harlech beach (although not the owners' fault, the trees over the road could do with trimming to improve this). There is parking at the property for one vehicle (although we did struggle with our VW campervan due to the depth and angle of the drive, but we did manage it). Good information left at the property for use of all facilities aswell as places to visit. The home owners are easily contacted should you need to. Overall, we highly recommend the property as the perfect place to stay in Harlech

Harlech really is a lovely place and this property is perfectly located to walk out of the door and enjoy all that Harlech has to offer on foot. We explored the surrounding area by car which is truly stunning. The off road parking for the property is a little tight, particularly if your vehicle is on the big side so we chose to park our car in the town on one of the quiet back streets. It was completely free and safe and only a few minutes walk away through a beautiful, peaceful wooded picnic area. The layout of the property is great. Upstairs is Light, airy and spacious with magnificent views over to the dunes and the sea. Wouldn't hesitate to return here.

Lovely log burner which we did use and it warmed the room really quickly. The guest information was useful and we could almost touch the castle walls. There is a convenience store just up the hill for your essentials and a lovely bakery with fresh bread. There wasn’t much open but it was really early in the season so I guess that’s why. We went into Barmouth (The last Inn and Llanbedr The Victoria to eat. Plenty of space for 5 and 2 medium size dogs. It was on a very steep hill which wasn’t mentioned in the listing it didn’t bother us but anyone less able may find it quite difficult. The parking space at the front was quite tight but manageable and we did secure a free space further up the hill for the other car. The walk to the beach took us about 20 mins. Our granddaughter went on a pony trek to the beach in Fairbourne which she loved the staff there were lovely. The weather was a bit mixed with plenty of rain but we came prepared so we didn’t mind at all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It exceeded our expectations in lots of ways. The views from the property showing the sea view and the castle are amazing. It was lovely to sit in the enclosed patio area and watch the sea. The property itself has been luxuriously appointed, with lots of useful personal touches. All three bedrooms are generous in size and extremely comfortable. The living area is larger than it appears in the pictures. The sofas easily sat six adults, as did the seating area in the kitchen. There were lots of board games, which we all had fun with. It's safe to say, this is a very dog-friendly property. There are dog blankets and towels provided. It's also the first property we've stayed in that provided a welcome pack for the pooches and us! We had a minor issue that we reported and was dealt with within the hour. This alone shows how committed the owners are to the comfort of their guests.
