  • "Brynhir Farm is, without doubt, one of the best holiday accommodations we have experienced, having stayed at many over recent years."

On arrival, we were provided with a superb, freshly made cake which was a lovely and welcome surprise. Our hosts, Ceinwen and Geoffrey were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The holiday barn itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. You are surrounded by wonderful views and the peace and quiet of the countryside. There is plenty to see locally, with the quaint and fascinating Llandrindod Wells close by, the Kite Feeding Station at Rhayader and the Spaceguard Station at Knighton, just a few of the places we visited. A quick mention for the amazing hot tub which was really the icing on the cake for us! In conclusion, we would not hesitate in recommending a holiday at Brynhir Farm, a little piece of heaven to be sure.

!! We stayed 2 nights in B&B in the farmhouse and the stay was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was amazing!!! We transferred over to the barn on the Friday night for 7 nights and it was a beautiful place to stay. There was everything that you could ever need, the cleanliness was fantastic and the view was amazing. To wake up everyday to the sound of lambs bleating was fantastic and so peaceful. The hot tub was perfect with a perfect view. Thank you for making our break so enjoyable and relaxing. Judith Green

The owner, Mrs Nixon was very welcoming and is always available if needed. It was lovely waking up to the bleating of sheep and lambs in the mornings and the surrounding area is truly spectacular. Although the weather wasn't on our side we still managed to see and do lots in the area. We enjoyed our week in Mid Wales and would definitely stay at Brynhir farm again.

We had everything we needed in the house. Loved the rooms especially having a bathroom each the boys loved that. • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brynhir Farm!"

Rooms: The barn and the rooms inside it were lovely and spacious, and it had a nice homey feel. We liked that both bedrooms had their own en-suites and TV’s. Cleanliness: Brynhir farm was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Amenities/Facilities: All of the facilities in the kitchen, bathroom and lounge areas worked perfectly and were high quality. We had everything we needed during our stay (enough cutlery/crockery, seating, towels etc). We also made use of the hot tub on several occasions during our stay which was very relaxing and was pre-heated upon our arrival so we could use it straight away. Distance from attractions: Brynhir Farm is a little bit of a drive away from some attractions however we loved being out in the country and still managed to visit Llandrindod Wells (which is one of the closest towns to the barn and has a lovely lake to visit), the Small Breeds Animal Farm, Aberystwyth, and Elan Valley. Property owner: Mrs. Nixon made us feel so welcome and at home in the barn during our stay! She showed us around when we arrived and was so friendly. Other: One of our favourite parts of staying at Brynhir Farm was being able to sit out on the balcony and watch the Red Kites flying over in the mornings. There were even binoculars provided to make this even better for us! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Brynhir Farm and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone who was visiting mid-Wales and we’d love to come back if we visit again.

10/10. Mrs Nixon is a lovely lady who has put much thought into making this delightful property a clean and peaceful haven, she has thought of everything - except the weather! In spite of a rainy week, we walked miles around dams and reservoirs without getting wet and returned to the wonderful views back at Brynhir, Kites, cattle, calves and sheep and the working dogs which are a joy to watch, free entertainment from the balcony. We cannot recommend highly enough. Fabulous.

The photos really don’t do it justice. I felt like I was in a self catering hotel suite. Ceinwein (owner and very friendly) has thought of everything and the little things made it feel like it was home to home. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great but it didn’t matter as we thoroughly enjoyed chilling in this luxurious place until the rain stopped at 3pm! WiFi and mobile reception was intermittent but it was an added bonus to have a break from gadget screens. WiFi works in the main farmhouse if you’re desperate but we found a signal standing outside the main farmhouse. We only needed it for researching things to do. We filled our week up and ventured to many places. I’d recommend bringing a night light if you have children as it is pitch black at night. But the bonus of no light pollution was sitting on the balcony looking at the stars. My son was very excited to see shooting stars and satellites. There is a sat freeview tv in every room but we also brought our own dvds (not Blu-ray). The sheep and cows were very entertaining with their conversations plus we had the pleasure of kites whistling to each and flying from tree to tree. Stunning birds. Loved it all!
