We had a slight issue with the stone pathways which our dogs found a challenge but the secure garden was a great relief as the dogs could roam freely. The drive up to the barn was a little difficult for a family car being very steep and slippery in places. If we could suggest a small thing that would make the barn even more comfortable, it would be maybe updating the sofas. We shall certainly return in the future as Anna was an ideal host and excellent baker.

Our fantastic host showed us the dog walks accessible off-lead from the front door so we could tire them early before going off to enjoy the exceptionally picturesque countryside, never having to travel far to find something different. The garden is beautiful and perfect for dogs and safe for children. The barn is also pretty. We struggled without clothes drying facilities as in a tumble dryer with a family of four. The double bed we found uncomfortable but the two single beds in the other room were lovely. We regularly stay in cottages and barns across England and Wales and think that a gesture of milk and bread is often much appreciated especially when accommodation is so far from local shops. The host Anna was lovely and helpful, there if you need advice. The area is lovely for walkers, for the children and more active days out such as theme parks and similar we often went back to Wales and enjoyed a day out in Bewilderwood in Chester as well. The local Ludlow Castle was lovely and Shrewsbury Town is pretty. There are lovely walks on the grounds of the barn. There is a pub within a 10 mins walk from the barn, it wasn't for us so we often went to the Nags Head in Pontesbury, food was lovely and drinks lovely. Lovely stay but with a few changes recommended as above.

Owners very friendly, helpful and were able to recommend lovely dog walks directly form the cottage. Garden was really relaxing and very dog friendly. Our dogs were in heaven in the garden ! Cottage had everything you could want and the extras were a lovely bonus after our long trip. We will look back on this holiday as one of the best cottages we have stayed in and the most dog friendly. Thank you.

  • "This is definitely one of the best holiday experiences we've had."

The barn is spacious, comfortable and extremely clean. You can see that the owner has put a lot of care and effort into furnishing it. The whole place smelt fresh and clean. We took 2 dogs with us and felt they were as welcome as us and not just tolerated. There is plenty of room for dog crates and all the stuff dogs seem to need when you go on holiday!! The best thing for me (And the dogs) was the large fenced- in garden which was full of wild flowers when we visited. We could sit there looking at the amazing view in total peace and quiet. The owner is so helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. Absolutely brilliant!

  • "Hope Hall Barn was delightful, from the well equipped kitchen, cosy living room and comfortable beds to the large fenced garden, our two labs enjoyed exploring."

We were warmly greeted by Anna and made to feel thoroughly at home. There was lots of information on days out to suit everyone and the local pub, The Stables Inn, was a short stroll away where the food was delicious and plentiful, just what was needed after a long day exploring the local nature reserves.

Gorgeous surroundings and a lovely host - the yummiest lemon drizzle cake for us on arrival :) Did try and make an amend to the booking and had contacted Sykes a few times and never had anything back... looked like they may had amended my booking request just didn't inform me it had been done, so maybe better communication from Sykes but apart from that everything was great.
