  • "A beautiful old cottage with perfect views."

Couple of small things, the stairs to the garden are stone and very steep, and there is no handrail. Both my parents struggled using these steps, so may be worth mentioning in description. Also bottom stair in house completely blends in to the floor and is easy to miss it and trip, maybe some white across the step would help. Lots if wasps in the bedroom, looked like their was a best just outside window, may be worth noting if you are allergic. The duvets are all feather and my son was sneezing and uncomfortable , went and purchased some antihistamines which helped a bit, so bear this is mind also. The location is fantastic though as are the facilities .

  • "The cottage was absolutely beautiful."

It was spotlessly clean and just perfect for a family stay. The secure and private grassed outdoor space was perfect for our toddler to burn off some steam and it was just gorgeous to be so close to shell island (you can see it from the garden!) and so many other beauty spots. We cannot wait to return to this gem!

The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. A great beach in walking distance. Conveniently located for driving to local towns and villages. Despite being a working farm with a small campsite it was so quiet and peaceful. The owners were friendly and helpful

  • "One of the nicest places we stayed in."

Great location, excellent facilities, cosy, clean and very comfortable. Kindness from the owners was heart warning. The open fire was an excellent feature on the cold evenings, though mainly for the atmosphere as the cottage was very warm. Weather was not very kind to us this time so we could not enjoy the little sitting area in the garden, which was a shame as it is perfect for having morning coffee and meals while enjoying the views. The cottage is in a very good location if you like visiting castles, stately houses, beaches and gardens. The nearby Animal Farm is also a great fun mainly for smaller kids but mines, slightly older, still enjoyed feeding and holding lambs and little goats. There is also a possibility to visit slate caverns on the same site. Harlech Castle is definitely worth visiting and it is in a walkable distance from the cottage, if you can identify a path which does not include walking on the roads. If you like ice cream please visit Hufenfa'r Castell - ice cream shop located just next to the castle - a very delicious treat. The only advice regarding the cottage is to mind your head as there are few places when you can find yourself in pain if not careful. It was also nice to have white bedding and towels, which is always reassuring.

From our first viewing to our sad leaving, it was impressive. The location was great with good views, local history and the other building added to the historical atmospheres of the location. There is much to see with short drives from the cottage and we enjoyed these. The cottage itself is very well equipped. We had five adults from Australia, Canada and the UK shearing. and we felt we had lots of space. Sarah the owner and her husband were great to deal with. We would highly recommend staying in Her Argoed or any of the other cottages on the property.

It was surprising how big the cottage is. Tastefully decorated, double, single and family bedrooms that were outstanding. Clean, bedding was gorgeous and lovely plain white fresh towels. Tiled floors downstairs makes it easy to clean and all you needed in kitchen and utility for the stay. The small garden is great for dog however entrance to side steps could do with gate. But this is known to owner and am sure will be addressed. A chair from patio covered as barrier while there. View of the bay and sunsets were lovely as well as the surrounding area for walking beach’s and nature. Definitely recommend Argoed

Our hosts were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The house was as comfortable and as beautifully presented as we had hoped and as an unexpected bonus the owners had recently redecorated and improved it, including new kitchen floor, new doors and steps leading directly from the living room to the garden, with a newly laid patio and upgraded garden furniture. The garden is private and peaceful, tucked away from the rest of the farm and properties/campsite (besides the cows grazing quietly in the next-door field) and with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Even though a number of places were closed due to coronavirus, there was plenty to do within a short driving distance, including sandy beaches and dunes, mountain biking, walking, pony trekking and ZipWorld. A great property in a beautiful area. Thank you

We enjoyed exploring the countryside and the quiet beach only a 10 minute walk away, tourist sites further afield and even a rainy day watching films was lovely in front of the fire! We found shopping difficult and only discovered the SPAR shop with an excellent butcher south of Llanbedr the day before we left! It is spacious and extremely attractive, with amazing beams in the roomy bedrooms, a well equipped modern kitchen / dining room, and a large sitting room with huge fireplace and log burning stove. Absolutely gorgeous!! It is good to be aware that you might get the odd bumped head when not concentrating and that the track up from the main road is slightly rough. But it is what it is....a working farm! Also, just to be slightly picky, we thought the outside area was a little neglected. Dead plants in tubs ( managed to give the window boxes an Easter resurrection!) and the garden grass could have done with being mowed. But we loved it and highly recommend.....
