  • "Beautiful fairytale cottage."

The children’s bedroom reminded me of something out of an Enid Blyton story.Stunning views. Ruth very accommodating with our arrival time and key collection. Would recommend anyone to go and stay.

  • "Pros: This property is a character property and is quite quirky."

The location is remote and it is very peaceful. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and you get a sense of being one with the environment. Ruth the owner is very kind and it was lovely to meet her. Cons: The place was filthy. I know others have written before about this so thought it may have improved but sadly not. We had to wash every item before using it and there were dust and webs were everywhere - and yes, spiders do remake their webs but not with 6" of dust on them! The duvet on the landing bed is covered in stains which we discovered when stripping the bed, and the sofas and cushions were groaning. Thankfully we could cover everything up with throws we took for the dogs. This property would have been really nice if it had been clean. I feel sad for Ruth but she really needs to get on top of her cleaners. The place needs a deep clean and de-clutter.

  • "The cottage was lovely, very cosy and it a great location."

The cottage had lots of charm (including a real wood fire) and the views across the valley were gorgeous. The location is ideal for long walks in the beautiful countryside. Ruth was lovely and dropped in to say hello on our first day and it was great to hear about the cottage and its history. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "The cottage and grounds are beautiful, such a stunning quaint cottage with bags of character."

We had many an evening having a bbq enjoying the surroundings - absolutely gorgeous and quiet. We enjoyed seeing the birds and sheep and the farmer tending to them. We found some lovely walks about 30 mins drive from the cottage. We thought the cottage itself was a little unkempt and there was lots of dust and cobwebs. It needs a deep clean - curtains, pelmets, sofas etc. bathrooms are clean but again needs re-grouting/updating. Peeling paint from the ground floor bathroom etc. the fire stove was full with ashes from the winter. We’ve stayed in similar cottages with dust etc but this was indicated in the price and was much cheaper. We paid over £800 therefore expect the equivalent in standard. The living space was very small for 5 people (even though the space states 6) and the couches were uncomfortable. We are quite chilled out but cleanliness is important to us. If the price was cheaper we would stay here again if going to mid wales but it was expensive for the quality inside the cottage. Did it affect our stay? No - we really enjoyed the holiday, however I feel other holiday makers may be disappointed by the cleanliness of the interior.

Thank you for your review. This is the first issue we've had that mentioned cleaning, our team does a great job but unfortunately, cobwebs cab be recreated in only a few hours The bathroom has now been arranged to be painted, apologies as we were waiting for the space in the calendar to complete the work. We wished you would have contacted us during your stay as we could have helped rectify some issues so you could enjoy your stay even more. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay just were not expecting such low ceilings and doorways."

We are all tall so there were a number of bumped heads and uneven stairs up to top level was not great for elderly people. But it's is a beautiful spot, so relaxing to sit outside and enjoy the view. Our host was very friendly and accommodating.

  • "Property listing did not make it clear that we would be sharing the garden with the neighbouring cottage and have guests from there walking past our front door, meaning we had no privacy."

House does not have an information pack so finding out the wi-fi password and how to work the cooker were by trial and error.

Thank you for your feedback. The property is listed as detached but we assure you that we have taken great care in ensuring there is privacy and that you cannot be seen by any neighbouring properties whist on your stay. Apologies you had issues with the WI-FI, we are contactable for any issues like these and are happy for guests to give us a call if any help is required. Many thanks Property Owner

In fact we have used your company many times and it is noticeable that clever photography sometimes covers up things like a main road position or the description omits something. We did enjoy our holiday and Ruth was very helpful

  • "The cottage is wonderful - we really enjoyed our time there."

Ruth was lovely, meeting us on time and showing us round. The room we spent the most time in was the kitchen. It's very well equipped and met all our needs. Great for playing cards and games at the table. The lounge is small and fine for 4 people. Not sure 6 or 7 adults would manage in it though. Bedrooms and bathrooms great. The only problem we had was that both bedrooms have skylights with no blinds or coverings. In the early hours we resorted to using t-shirts over our heads to enable sleep until a more reasonable hour. The stream is across a field that dogs can't go in. It's not next to the cottage. We wouldn't class the property as isolated as it's adjacent to another holiday cottage that Ruth owns. The guests from the other cottage had to access their property going past ours. The best parts of the cottage are the views and the open fire. Would definitely rebook to stay again.

Her cottages are unique old country cottages in the middle of farmland and have everything you need, apart from candles when there was a power cut. I would go again definitely and would recommend the place. We had a thoroughly enjoyable family holiday. Thank you
