  • "Great stay!"

The hosts were really lovely, very welcoming and helpful. A very nice couple. The views were amazing, wildlife around was great - chickens roam around which was nice to see, and even fed them at one point. Overall, we will definitely go back! Thank you for the stay!

  • "The cottage was excellent and exactly as described."

The owners were extremely helpful and the location perfect, great views of the surrounding hills. There was even an adjacent cabin with books to read, DVDs to view and leaflets describing local events and attributes. Perfect.

  • "The cottage was damp and cold when we arrived so we eventually asked the hosts to put the central heating on, they did straight away."

Very noisy from the joining cottages, you can hear everything. This was advertised as pet friendly so we chose on that basis. After arriving and being in the cottage for 5 minutes the host asked me to keep the dog from jumping up at the window to look out as this could damage the sills and they wont have time to fix anything before the next visitors come in. The dog was just looking at the chickens running about. Also told me to keep the dog off the furniture and do not let it upstairs and asked where does the dog sleep etc This made us really uncomfortable from the minute we arrived and felt we were being watched throughout. This is NOT pet friendly. A very limited kitchen, they leave those tea bags and coffees that you get in a cheap BB but no milk. This was very expensive and does not reflect the cottage, the price should be halved. We will use Sykes again but will not return and will not recommend this cottage although the location is great. Thanks

Thank you for your feedback for Beech Cottage. We are sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable within the property. We asked you to keep your dog from jumping up at the windows, so it would not cause any damage to the property or the dog. Although we allow dogs at our cottages, they are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs. This is part of the t&c's when you book any Sykes property. Property Owner
