"Thank you for letting us stay at your first class cottage, it was so comfortable and quirky especially the stairs to the top bedroom."
Wonderful views to the sea.

"We had a nice stay overall."
Beautiful view from the top room. Bathroom is comfortable and well maintained. Location is good, though parking a little awkward. Dining room was too small for the 4 of us staying. Some fold up chairs might be a good idea. Dining room cupboards were a bit unclean and some had stuff in them. Would really suggest replacing the table and chairs in the front yard as they were old, rusty and wonky. This could be a good alternative dining space.

"Great location as a base for exploring that part of Wales."
There were a few cobwebs downstairs, particularly in the kitchen and the front room rug was overdue a decent clean. Top bedroom was lovely and had a great view of the sea. Plus the bathroom was modern and shower fab. Overall a nice place to stay and we had a brilliant holiday.
Hello Sian, firstly we are happy you enjoyedyour stay at the Lookout but very disappointed to hear the housekeeping was not not to our standards. I can ensure this will be dealt with and if you feel you would return, the house issues you raised will be addressed. Property Owner

"The house was lovely, however there were no photographs of the stairs, we knew they were steep but we feel like the property wasn’t as suitable for children as we expected."
The layout of the glasses and plates etc wasn’t very good due to the fact of having children we had to move everything into a more suitable place. We enjoyed our stay but expected a bit more of a child friendly property as it was expected as told on the listing.

"Very comfortable."
I liked the location and being able to walk to the beach nearby (at low tide) and also up onto the hill behind the house. 5 minutes cycle ride into Barmouth. The top floor bedroom has a great view from the sofa - good space to retreat to. The stairs to the top floor are very steep and more akin to a ladder - not recommended for children or the less agile. I had one classic sunset during my stay. The patio at the front was pleasant in the evening despite the main road running past the front of the house. As stated in the details there is no washing machine.

"Lovely location / clean ."
Downside no firelighters left or kindling for log burner / lack of cooking utensils / not enough information about the recycling or how to use the cooker/ oven/ handrail needed outside on front steps as very steep and slippery when wet.

"Stayed at the Lookout at the end of Aug 23."
It has a great location for views of the sea and is beautifully decorated with some unique features. The property would definitely not be suitable for the elderly or infirm and I would not recommend it for young children due to the narrow and winding stairs. The TV signal was not very good but we had access to Netflix so watched that instead. We found various small items in the rug which turned out to be tiny child’s toys so I doubt it had been cleaned which is a shame. There was also some mens clothing in the bedroom drawers so I’d recommend a double check when cleaning in between visits. Other than that, would heartily recommend.

"Lovely location and the top floor room has amazing views."

"Lovely stay would recommend and would stay again."
When I arrived bedroom was 2 singles not double and both tv's could not get working continuely within short time if watching amazon film would cut out very slow would have been a challenge if not for brilliant weather

"There was not enough information on how the oven worked in the information folder."
The front window needed cleaning as it was difficult to see the beautiful views. It also stated that a welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee etc was available in the storage unit but there was none available! Overall it is a great place to stay but these few items do need attention to make it better!

"The cottage is well furnished and comfortable but had quite limited kitchen equipment and none of the usual kitchen supplies like tea and coffee."
The bathroom was large and luxurious. But... the stairs were terrible. If you have any mobility problems at all this property is not for you. The stairs to the main bedroom on the 3rd floor are almost vertical. I would happily stay here again if it weren't for the stairs.

"A beautifully presented property in a lovely location."
We were very fortunate with the weather and had a great week exploring the magnificent beaches, local landmarks, and Snowdonia. The facilities inside are wonderful, with a cosy living room, well-equipped kitchen, two great bedrooms (especially the top floor master) and a modern high-end bathroom with great walk-in shower. The views from the front of the property are amazing, especially in the evening the sun setting across the sea, with the backdrop of distant mountains. Thank you! ---- A few observations which I think are clear from the description, but which are worth re-emphasizing: 1) I don't think the property is suitable for anyone with mobility issues: steep steps at the front, steeper steps onto the first floor, and even steeper again (almost a ladder!) up to the second floor. 2) Parking is in a lay-by about 150m down the road, but you can temporarily park closer for unloading etc. 3) Although from the pics it looks like the sea is very nearby (which it is), the nearest beach is about a 15 minute walk.
Thank you so much for your very positive & detailed review. We so appreciate your kind words & we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We hope to have you stay again. Property Owner

"Cottage was lovely exactly as described."
Well located for exploring with glorious sunsets across the water. Cottage was clean, comfortable, bathroom a dream! The stairs were as described so we were expecting them and it was part of the adventure! The only negatives was the microwave had lost all markings for its buttons and was not great to use, trial and error mostly with some buttons not working at all so I’d recommend replacing, it’s a cheap fix and would make a huge difference. I’d also note that you can’t walk to beach directly across from cottage which I expected from the photos but this was a minor inconvenience. On the whole, a beautifully kept cottage and worth a visit.

"Gorgeous property, excellent is of space by the owners, and lots of lovely touches around the house to make it luxurious."
Stairs to get to the loft bedroom may be tricky for some, but it’s worth the climb! We look forward to returning!
-
"Very nice property in a great spot."
The only small downside was the lack of parking (the lay-by 50 meters away was fine but I wonder if it might fill up in peak season)
-
"The cottage was fabulous, well appointed and very clean."
The climb up to the to floor is well worth it for the stunning views over the ocean...great to sit on the sofa with a glass of wine watching the sunset.
-
"To get to the top bedroom is quite a climb but after day 2 I got quite used to it and enjoyed it (not bad for nearly a 70 year young)."
Our 7 year old grandson couldn’t wait to come upstairs every morning to look out of the windows he thought the name of the cottage was very apt and clever. The weather was very mixed but did not spoil our break. We feel access to the top bedroom is quirky but for the more able bodied, but we would certainly come again.
-
"Lovely views and comfortable house but the stairs are very steep, as previous reviews!"
The only issue is only having one set of towels and only one hand towel and no washer to wash them in.
-
"We enjoyed our holiday but was bitterly disappointed that we were unable to access the top floor bedroom due to the steepness of the stair case."
The description of the property didn’t state that a grab rail would be needed which was placed near the top of the stair case. And this is one things why I choose to book this accommodation. To enjoy the sea views fully which we were unable to do so. The lower stair case was also a problem if you was above 5 foot tall. My husband is six foot and had to come back down backwards on the lower part of the stair case to avoid banging his head.

"The lookout is a fabulous designed contemporary perfectly located holiday home, the best use of space is seen everywhere."
Some great touches including modern kitchen and fantastic bathroom. Great watching sunsets from the patio all the rooms. Stairs and chairs an issue for the elderly. We will return

"Absolutely thrilled with the cottage."
Extremely clean, very well equipped and cosy. A perfect stay....weather not the best and COVID restrictions still hard to get used to but when we knew we were coming home to a safe and cost home it made for a lovely holiday
