  • "I have corresponded with the owner over the poor cleaning/ preparation of the property and the poor state/standard of kitchen equipment."

It shows a lack of attention to detail which the owner says will be addressed. The garden was not dog secure as claimed. The potential is great as was the hot-tub. For the price I paid I was disappointed,- it could be so good! but all felt a bit tired. However the area is great and the weather was fine.

  • "The house was exactly as advertised."

We had a lovely family celebration, cozy and comfortable stay, shops close-by, in the middle of stunningl Welsh countryside.

Many thanks for your lovely feedback. It is very much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "First the good."

.. In the countryside, lots of wildlife yet close to town and amenities. Enclosed garden for dogs We loved the covered balcony and hot tub with a mountain and sunset view. The not so good... Despite feedback from previous guests the issues continue. The worst equipped kitchen I've stayed in. Tins dirty and rusty, no bowls, no jugs I could go on. We had to buy our own equipment to cook a roast. The Coach house is not clean, bedding found to be stained, objects under sofa - Deep clean clean required. Water leak in utility/conservatory with associate odour and flies. The TV is not smart. It's very close to the hotel which didn't bother us. What I find astonishing is the owners had now had consistent poor quality feedback, and have not taken action or worse perhaps lied ? Most of the issues could be solved in a short amount of time with small financial input. Having said the above we enjoyed our stay. But standards need to rise - soiled bedding is Not ok!!

I am sorry to hear that you feel our efforts to improve our new business have not met your standards. As ever, we do encourage our guests to get in touch at the first instance during their stay so we have the chance to put things right rather than waiting for the review to mention these things. We can only be proactive in addressing these things when they are mentioned. These are the measures we have taken in response to your feedback. * New roasting tins ordered for next day delivery *Bowls located in a lower cupboard, have alerted the cleaning company to repatriate all crockery to the same obvious place after every stay. * Two large jugs located in food cupboard, again have alerted cleaning company to place these items in a more obvious place. *We have found that previous guests have gone straight from the hot tub to bed which has bleached the grey linen we bought. Have opted to not do in-house linen anymore and from 8.10.24 linen is provided by HCH Aberdyfi) *Have asked HCH Aberdyfi to clean underneath couch between every stay. *Have requested a deep clean after a busy summer. *Alerted our maintenance staff to leak in the conservatory, this is the first we have heard of it and obviously do not want ingress into our property. *Flies were everywhere in Wales during September...we were all struggling to control it after a warm September. *It is a Smart TV, guests need to change the 'input' on the remote control to another HDMI channel, the guest must have had it on the HDMI input for the Freeview. However, to make this more user friendly, we have decided to move one of our 'SKY Puck's' into the Coach House. *Plas Dolguog is a quiet guest house and an occasional event venue, not a hotel. We are still in the first year of our business and of course want to get things right so that our business is a success. Hopefully acting upon people's feedback to rectify any issues will continually improve people's stay. Kind regards, Steph, Tom (and children Jack and Emilia) Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely family holiday with 8-10 adults and a baby, age ranges 1 and a half to nearly 70 years old."

The communal area in the house is great - very social. The large dining table is great for big family meals. The hot tub is a fantastic addition, particularly given the affordable price of the coach house - cheaper than elsewhere. There is a lovely space on the terrace to sit out in the garden for meals. The house does have its quirks. The bathroom window opens to the conservatory and the house it faces the hotel on one side. The other side feels very private though and the bedrooms are cool and comfortable, facing the river - lovely sounds of babbling water. Steph, the owner, was fantastic on our stay. There were a few issues but she gave her all to help us out. She and her family bought the hotel and house last year and are still working out what needs to be done and improved - she is worth talking to if any doubts or concerns.

  • "The level of cleanliness was poor beyond the basics of clean bedding and bathrooms."

Cobwebs with woodlice in at kitchen windows, dirty external windows,a cigarette packet down the sofa, filthy floors- when was the sofa last vacuumed or the floor beneath it swept? Lacked even the basics- only 6 mugs and wineglasses for a 10 person accommodation and no large serving dishes, a broom head but no long handle, taps on the bath that don't work (only shower head operational), broken drawers in the fridge, a blackout blind that only pulls up on one side, intermittent wi- fi and none at all for the last 2 days of our stay. Paddle stairs were mentioned but no indication of their steepness or that there was door/ Privacy to the upstairs bedroom. No mention that the ground floor was a worshop/ laundry, although this didn't impact us particularly, or that the building was so close to the main guest house. Our impression was that it was more remote- saying it was on the Plas Duluog Estate doesn't tell you that there are lodges etc. Having said all that, the views were great and the beds comfy.

  • "The cleanliness, comfort and the maintenance and facilities were all extremely poor."

I have discussed all this with Steph .

As a response to this, we have since identified the problem and have changed our cleaning company accordingly. Property Owner

  • "Gorgeous property in a beautiful location with fantastic views, would definitely stay here again."

Very spacious and comfortable, and dog friendly. The agency responded quickly when there was an issue with the shower not draining and sent someone to fix it promptly. The only negatives were that the WiFi was rubbish, which made it difficult for members of our group who needed to take work calls, and the gas hob didn't work very well and could only be lit with a match.

  • "We had an absolutely amazing holiday in the Coach House."

Tom and Stephanie were so welcoming and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. The house was well equipped and we all slept soundly in the wonderfully comfy beds. The hot tub was ready to use on our arrival and was available the entirety of our stay which was handy after a day of climbing the stunning views surrounding the property. Our 3 furry companions also loved their stay and the garden was fully enclosed and well maintained. Can not rate this wonderful property highly enough and we will definitely be visiting again! Thanks for having us x
