  Talk Cottage is highly maintained and spotlessly clean. It is an ideal base to explore mid Wales and has all amenities near by including a good roadside cafe for a tasty breakfast after a morning departure.

• "Accommodation just right for the two of us and our dog Teddy."

  Warm, comfortable and with a welcome pack. Nice and peaceful once the moderate daytime traffic dies down. If I would make one suggestion, it would be to add a shaver socket in the bathroom, unless I somehow missed it.

• "Amazing cottage."

  Perfect and tranquil even though next to the A470 the traffic wasn’t a problem. The cottage was immaculate and extremely well presented. All in all Lola (border/bearded collie) and myself had a very chilling time. Communication with the owners was amazing and not that I had any issues knew I could contact them if I did. We enjoyed exploring Hafren Forest and Aberdyfi beach for some amazing walks and swims for Lola. We will return I’m sure.

• "What a delightful, romantic little cottage!"

  We went here for our minimoon and it was perfect. Great place for a dog too as our little one could take himself off out into the courtyard area to enjoy some sun without the worry that he might be able to get out. Wonderful little additions too in the form of a welcome pack but also a congratulations card for our wedding. Lovely owners who we bumped into and they introduced themselves but weren't intrusive at all. Excellently maintained cottage.

• "Simply first class, Tim and Jackie made us feel so welcome with the beautiful yellow roses and goodies left for both Rachel and I and our two dogs, Bow and Scruff, the cottage is beautiful with everything provided that we could possibly need, the place was spotlessly clean also, would definitely recommend, looking forward to booking a stay again but next time we will make it a longer stay, we didn’t want to leave, we enjoyed it so much."

• "There was a freezer in the property that was not mentioned online."

  We had phoned Jackie prior to my holiday to ask about a washing machine but forgot to ask about a freezer. Jackie and Tim were brilliant hosts and even gave me a birthday card & cake. the cottage was spotless, welcoming & homely. a lovely welcome pack & flowers were left for us on our arrival including dog treats - a fantastic cottage and hosts. We sang their praises about everything while on holiday and on our return home.

• "Poor lighting in the kitchen, spotlight in bathroom ill fitting, shower not fit for purpose as curtain sticks to you when using shower and glass shelf drained water off either end of shelf so water ran onto floor causing damp and black mould."

  We are both saddened to read such a poor review. As previous reviews have shown our feedback is normally very positive. We always provide information on how to contact us should there be any issues and would have gladly provided extra lighting for the kitchen area, one of the several spotlights in the bathroom had just been replaced but was not screwed back in securely, we would have been able to rectify this for you within a few minutes if given the chance.   ..we were blown away by this amazing, tasteful renovation of a former stables ,, all the fixtures, fittings and decor were done to a great spec , particularly loved the bed , the fire and the tree mural ...the welcome pack was amazing and the owners who live nearby are a lovely couple...it's a fab base to explore this lovely, rural part of Wales and if we could mark the place 6 out 5 we would.. definitely one of the best of the many cottages we have stayed in..

• "Talkhouse Cottage is beautifully equipped with everything we needed."

  It was very comfortable with lots of space to move around and oodles of storage options. The kitchen was well laid out with cupboard space to put our food supplies in. The bathroom is spacious and well lit with the most luxurious towels ever. The bedroom was light and airy with 2 wardrobes and a set of drawers for our clothes. We slept very well in the comfortable bed although it was a little too warm for us. The proximity of the road and railway never disturbed us, apart from the one car with a noisy exhaust, even though we are light sleepers. Tim and Jackie are excellent hosts and were very quick to attend to our one issue, a wobbly chair. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise, hubby loves Welsh cakes. Did not make use of the coffee pods as I am dairy intolerant, but the thought was there. Basic supplies like the tea, coffee etc and milk in the fridge all go to show how attentive these hosts are to details. We love the area with its hills, lanes and driving trails, as hubby is limited mobility we rarely walk anywhere but the amazing scenery nearby was amazing.

  Only drawback was the proximity of a busy road which was a little noisy. Otherwise a lovely place to visit, will definitely recommend it.

The traffic does quieten down during the evening and hopefully does not interfere with sleeping. The building is part of a historic road side coaching inn and has character and charm accordingly. • "I'd like to start by saying how much we loved our stay here and how much we appreciate the added amenities we received on our arrival!"

  The Easter egg, champagne and dog treats were a thoughtful addition and they really enhanced the experience. The cottage will be forever etched in my mind since it's where I popped the question to my fiancé. Apologies for filling up the hoover bags with petals, I did try to look for more hoover bags to replace it but had no luck! I would give 4.5 stars if I could but its not possible on here. The reason for our rating is down to the cob webs we found in a lot of the property. We also found a bit of broken glass by the sofa. Lastly, it would've been nice if we were provided with some basic toiletries like shower gel and shampoo. Besides those small things we had an amazing time! Thank you so much!

• "Lovely, comfortable cottage."

  Well equipped set in a lovely area. Unfortunately didn't get out as much as we liked as it was quite wet the week we stayed, but luckily the cottage was warm and cozy. Dog was safe in enclosed garden and enjoyed the pack of treats kindly supplied by the owners. We also enjoyed the chocolates etc left for the humans. Would recommend chip shop in Caersws if you don't feel like cooking. We had our first and last supper from there. Would also recommend the Bull and Heifer just outside Newtown (probably 15-20 minute drive from cottage). Had a lovely meal there and Dog friendly. Would certainly recommend this cottage to others and would certainly stay again ourselves if staying around that area again. Thank you to the owners for providing such a high standard property. • "This cottage is beautiful, the owners have thought of everything and also include a few extras - we have had a wonderful few days in Wales as the location is also great for getting about and seeing a bit of mid Wales."

  .the walks just by the cottage are also brilliant- there’s a quaint little open church in the village near by which is worth a visit to and the shop in town is very well stocked of everything you may need. We had dinner at the Mawr Hall near by which was lush. Can’t fault the cottage or wales…the only one critic if i have one is the road by the cottage is very noisy…not so much busy but the lorries that go past are very noisy and this starts early in the morning- it’s not a constant but it can disturb your sleep a little as they are going most of the day and some in the night…wouldn’t put me off going again but needs a mention…. • "A beautiful property."

  Well fitted out and spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable. At the end of November central heating had to be used and was good. Curtains in the bedroom could be shortened to allow heat into the room not the windows. Suggestions, hooks in the bathroom for dressing gowns and front door for outside coats. We chilled in luxury.

  Lovely welcome gifts and such a lovely cosy cottage. A small Vaccum in the property would have been very helpful. Information about the busy road to the front of the cottage would help too. Some people prefer a more quiet environment. Although it was fine for us, we didn't mind it!

• "This gorgeous cottage had everything we expected and the furnishings were of high quality."

  Cottage was cosy and very comfortable. The luxury bathroom was glorious and the joy of the deep bath with oodles of hot water was just the thing to relax. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and again everything was great quality. Rafferty our Mini Schnauzer much enjoyed his snooze in the sunny porch of an afternoon.. although the cottage is on the main road we weren't disturbed by traffic noise. Tim and Jackies attention to detail included dog treats bowls etc and. Prosecco and chocolates and they were happy to spend time making sure everything was just right for us,and it was !!!! .
