Oak Apple Cottage, occupying a simply idyllic location in the heart of the forest, is near Presteigne in Powys is the perfect place for an unforgettable family holiday or a small get-together of family and friends.

As you drive up and lock the gate behind you, you can feel your stresses melting away as you soak up the stunning countryside views all around.

Park up in the ample parking area and take a stroll around the expansive grounds which include lawns, a gravelled area and a patio area with seating and a fire pit and when you throw in the breath-taking views, you’ve got yourself the ideal spot to hang out, enjoy spending time together and immerse yourself in this little piece of heaven.

Things just keep getting better as you step into Oak Apple Cottage which boasts an incredibly warm and welcoming ambience, beginning with the delightful kitchen/diner, all set up ready for the designated chef to work their magic and the breakfast bar is the perfect place to pull up a stool and keep each other company.

At dinner time, take a seat at the rustic dining area, where you can imagine many long and enjoyable dinner parties taking place and when you want to sit back and chill out, make your way upstairs to the first-floor sitting room which is incredibly inviting, boasting some spectacular views and a gorgeous woodburning stove, where you can curl up and enjoy spending some quality, holiday time together.

When it’s time for bed, guests can choose from a ground-floor twin bedroom or two first-floor bedrooms, both king-size, so no matter what combination of guests there are in your party, there’s sure to be a bedroom to suit.

Waking up to the captivating views from Oak Apple Cottage will inspire you to get out of bed and plan the day’s activities so you can get out and about exploring.

The enchanting town of Presteigne is within a short walk and here you will find beautiful black and white timbered buildings, and all manner of shops and galleries perfect for shopping for your weeks provisions or having just a browse.

Pay a visit to the Judge’s Lodgings, a Victorian museum which takes visitors back in time or check out Wigmore Castle and Hergest Croft Gardens.

If you want to be at one with nature then a trip to Kington Small Breed Farm Park and Owl Centre is a must.

Towns worth jumping in the car for include captivating Hay-on-Wye, charming Hereford and historic Shrewsbury.
