  • "The online depiction and description tempted us with high expectations, and it was fabulous to find that it was even better upon arrival, topped with a lovely warm neighborly greeting."

The atmosphere was immediately homely and the barn has an attention to detail both in form and function. All those little things one has at home which are not always in other people’s places, were there. There is a sense of the barn attracting mature users who have had a natural respectfulness for the barn – smartly enhanced by the photobooks that tell the story of its development. It is hard to imagine there has ever been even a whiff of disappointment from any guest. We had mostly great weather for February and the homely cosiness of the barn was fantastic, the aga made sure we were wrapped in that Ready Brek red glow – without the hassle of preparing or digesting any oaty gloop. The surroundings ooze desirability, the location is perfect for 20 minute to an hour drives to great places in any direction and a minute away is a Coop store that is a bit like the Tardis, and stocks anything and everything you could ever desire with helpful staff. We don’t eat lamb so the friendly sheep grazing near us were safe from our visit too, not that sheep ever look too worried. They attentively looked at you when you greeted them as if you were Doctor Doolittle. On a personal note, this is an old school establishment. A real set of keys no flippin’ apps; the WiFi was fine for laptop / device internet use and streaming audio (eg BBC Sounds, Spotify..) and on occasion if the connection broke a quick ‘off’ and ‘on’ of the power plug got it back. However we couldn’t stream movies from our laptop – not a problem for us – and there’s a blu ray/DVD player with a basket full of films that has something for everyone. We found the Regent Cinema which is 20 minutes away in Newtown and is a cool cinema. And again the staff there really informative and friendly too. It has also inspired me in ways I hope don’t fade on return to normalsville.

Alan,Sandra and Rebecca could not have done more to make us feel welcome and at home. The barn itself is magnificent and extremely well-equipped. One minor problem (which is beyond anyone’s control) is the noise of the road but it would be churlish to hold that against what is one of the finest holiday let’s that we have experienced. • "One of the most friendliest welcomes we have had in years."

Nothing was too much trouble for the family. The barn is absolutely stunning in a beautiful and quiet part of the world. The owners are directly adjacent to the barn, but you feel you have your own area as it has been segregated off from the owners. Easy access to many areas in mid Wales. It's so nice not to have to clean utensils etc before use, everywhere was spotless. A suggestion to make the stay even better would be, it would be useful to have a small table with mirror in the bedroom and some blinds for privacy in the main barn. Even though it's not over looked. We had the most wonderful stay, lovely weather and would definitely return again.
