  • "Lovely place to stay, would be happy to visit again."

Was able to park where advertised, no problem. The bedding appeared to be feather pillows & duvet, which did trigger allergies a bit (just something to be aware of) and the bed was very creaky. The kitchen was perfect for cooking in during our stay. The local shop was closed while we were there, but we could get supplies from the nearest town. Walking routes we found were well marked. Beautiful place to visit.

Comfortable, clean and very well equipped. (Extensive selection of books, often tempted to stay in and read!) Lovely local cafe that sold tasty meals and also pub (v close by) was good for dinner including for our 6 yr old. Parking space opposite cottage was not available, but plenty of on street parking available nearby.

  • "Overall the cottage was cosy and had everything needed for a good stay."

The only reason I haven't given maximum marks is for the following reasons: I haven't stayed at a property yet where the owners do much about keeping it dry from damp. I noticed around the windows had been washed to get some mildew/mould off, but not with mould killer. Around the front door was particularly bad. The front door lets in water underneath when its raining hard which probably adds to the problem. The front door surrounding wall had black mould on it, although not thick. Its just a concern because we both have respiratory problems and had only just recovered from flu before coming. We ran the heating whenever we were in and it helped dry it out a bit and the damp smell to diminish. Also, the underfloor heating that was advertised was switched off at the fusebox and had no remote left to operate it anyway or the flooring thermostat was not set. We could have done with this running as the central heating struggled a bit when the temperature dropped a couple of times. We liked the fact the kitchen was well equipped and the shower nice and hot. One point about the bathroom. It is very easy to burn yourself on the towel rail due to the confines of the bathroom. No major complaints , just the things above, if they were dealt with I would have given a higher score. I understand the climate there and what the cottages are like, I used to live just down the road in Machynlleth. But being an asthmatic, i really would have liked the damp dealt with in advance of arrival. Thanks.

  • "A lovely slate cottage in a beautiful Welsh valley, perfectly clean, very thoughtfully equipped and the owner readily available if needed."

Central for access to many interesting local places. The views outside splendid from the front patio. The steps up to the front door from the road quite challenging however for we older folks, worse in wet weather, a handrail would be an improvement.

  • "A lovely little cottage tucked away just outside the village in a quiet spot."

It is well equipped and had pretty much everything we needed for our stay. We had some good walks from the door and Cadair Idris was only a few minutes drive up the road. The seaside was also within easy reach only being half an hour or so drive to Aberdyfi. The owner did point out to us that there is no freezer which would be a nice addition for the self-caterers amongst us but we did plan meals around this. (Note the village shop doesn't have much in it and isn't often open.) All in all a very good stay, I would definitely recommend it.

  • "What a ‘cute’ compact little cottage."

It suited us three perfectly for a few nights stay. The cottage & kitchen are well equipped with every space being very well used. The log burner gave a cosy feel in the evenings. The views are beautiful from the cottage. It’s in a great location for walking, going to the coast, visiting the stunning scenery inland of the forest, waterfalls & mountains. Parking is a grassed space just off the road for one car that the cottage can use, or on the roadside (it’s a very quiet village) We had a lovely restful break. Thank you

  • "We were very happy with our stay at Corris last week."

The cottage was as we expected from your description and would recommend it to our friends. The only downside was the television reception and phone reception which cannot be attributed to the cottage because of it being deep in a valley. Once again many thanks for comunications and look forward to coming to Wales again in the future. Best regards Graham and Ann.

Perfectly situated for both the coast and mountains, Cadair Idris is a must for the serious walker! A visit to the local Slater Arms pub provided good food served by the friendly owners. The only downside was that after a week the mattress was uncomfortable but maybe because I have back issues. Would definitely recommend this cottage and area to visit. Thank you

  • "Tanrallt is a lovely little property in a small village in Corris - Phil the owner is really helpful and can not do enough to make your stay welcoming and comfortable."

The only reason we have marked it slightly down is we found the property to have a damp feeling whilst we were staying there. This is probably due to the location of the village (in a valley) and the fact that there is a steep slope at the back of the property with constant running water. This combined with the age of the property probably caused the damp feeling. The kitchen window unfortunately has a lot of brambles very close to it stopping any view - I'm sure this is something Phil will be tackling. The neighbours and villagers where all really helpful and friendly. There is a beautiful river running close to the property which is just a 5 minute walk away. Wales is full of beautiful walks and scenery. The coast is also only a 30 minute drive away so you have the best of all worlds staying at this property.
