  • "5 of us had a marvellous week at Tanyrallt Farm - End of June 2024."

Used as a base for a Motorcycle Tour. Superb twisty roads in every direction. Pick a point on the map, jump on the bike and away. Plenty of places of interest endless castles, waterfalls to go see and beautiful scenery. Highlights being the Devils Staircase, stopping for an ice cream at the Llyn Brianne reservoir dam and carrying on for a meal at the excellent West End Cafe in Llandovery. Then the trip to the Devils Bridge Waterfall, Pontarfynach, that was well worth it just for the outstanding breakfast at the Woodlands Cafe. There are plenty of places to explore in this part of the world and the roads in between are awesome. Fast sweeping or tight and nadgery with sheep eating the grass growing up the middle, it's all gravy. The cottage, by the way, is superb. A great location. Spotlessly clean, spacious and with comfortable beds. Slept like a log. The big bonus is the games room, which was a massive hit and the little sun room is a lovely place to chill out, with a stunning view. We cooked most evenings having an Asda delivery for when we arrived and topping up at Tesco, Llandrindod Wells. The kitchen had all we needed and a big table to sit at. Overall a fantastic break and would love to come back.

Thank you so much Martin, I must say you were wonderful guests left the house as you found it. Property Owner

The road running past the farm is quiet and perfect for evening walks for the dog & the Elan Valley is only a short drive away. Water-break-its-neck waterfall is under 1/2 hours drive and well worth a visit with clearly marked woodland trails to follow. The nearby towns of Llandrindod & Builth have a good range of shops & take aways & worth a visit to the local butchers plus the local shop at Beulah is handy. Great mid Wales location for exploring the beauty of Wales & we will miss the tranquillity of Tanyrallt.

  • "We stayed here in the last week of September 2021."

TLDR is we got what we paid for. This wasn't the most expensive place to stay but perfectly met what we were expecting. Longer version is that the house was lovely and homely. It was warm, clean and had everything we could have wanted. The owner was extremely nice and answered all the questions we had. There isn't a huge amount to do in the area, but we made do. A couple of negatives which stopped us putting 5 instead of 4 stars. 1) the beds were quite uncomfortable 2) we didn't realise this was a working farm and we were kept awake by cows mooing 20ft from our bedroom window on several nights. 3) the main (largest room) whilst very nice, had the main water tank for the house in it. This was unbelievably loud and woke us up every night, several times. Most annoyingly, it woke our 11 month old daughter up. Overall, I would recommend for a relaxing few days away

The house is spacious, warm and comfortable, the kitchen is equipped for any occasion and the furniture is comfortable and sturdy. We were on a 3-generation holiday with ages 3-66 and we all loved it! The owners were friendly and responsive when we contacted them. Our only negative is that we had to come home too soon and start all the washing from our adventures (although the really grim stuff was already washed and dried in front of the range overnight!).

Lovely location with nice views especially the 'viewing room' at the front of the building which allowed us to sit and relax in the warm whilst being able to look at a lovely view of the countryside. The cottage was well equipped and lacked fo nothing really including a games room with a dart board and pool table! The owners were very helpful and tried their best to sort out anything we asked.
