Beaconsfield Cottage is, warm & cosy, the beds very comfy, but overall the interior is rather dated. The garden is lovely but huge, & much shorter grass would make it much easier to find and pick up dog poop!

  • "Very comfortable cottage, lovely garden in a nice village."

My only bug bare, was there was unpleasant smell under the sink cupboard. There was no spray of any kind to wipe the sink or toilet. I have never stayed in a Skye’s cottage before without any such things. Which I had to go and buy a spray to do midweek clean.

We are glad that you found the cottage to be very comfortable with a lovely garden. We do work extremely hard to keep the cottage clean, and although it is self catering we do provide cleaning materials. If none were visible, then you could have called the housekeeping number as listed in the house guide and in the guest book. I hope this didn't spoil your stay too much and that we will see you again soon. Thanks for the feedback. Property Owner

The house was well equipped and situated in a quiet village that is well positioned to explore the North Norfolk coast line and inland towns and villages but with lots of field walks from the door too if you don’t want to drive every day. A great local shop with a bakers, butchers and green grocers attached too was a real bonus. We had a great holiday!

Perfectly located near the main shops in Holt and driveable to all the best spots such as Wells-next-the-Sea, Sheringham, Burnham Market, etc. The property was ideal for us and our two dogs. Lovely log burner for the cold nights and plenty of space and facilities to eat and entertain ourselves.

The garden was gorgeous and safe for the dog and kids with the added bonus of apples and pears and blackberries all right there! The instructions for everything were clear and easily found and we enjoyed exploring some of the local walks which were suggested. Also plenty of games, jigsaws and books in the cottage for rainy days and a welcoming bottle of wine which was a lovely touch after a long drive. The village is lovely with a playground and two pubs in walking distance as well as local shops including a great fishmonger’s, a butcher and bakery. • "Really enjoyed our stay in the lovely cottage."

It really was like a home from home. The garden coming straight from the spacious kitchen was perfect to manage the dogs and even the separate section was so well thought out meaning you could come and go from the property to get your belongings from the car whilst the dogs were safely contained in the garden. The garden made such a difference compared to other properties we've stayed at, it was lovely to potter outside in your PJ's and sit having a cuppa whilst the dogs mooched about. I loved that the cottage was equipped with cleaning facilities- whilst i appreciate you're on holiday and cleaning might not be top of everyone's to do list, it was nice to be able to treat the house like your own. The washing machine and tumble dryer was fantastic to be able to use- we will bring less clothes next time knowing we can pop a load in and it was lovely that we didn't have to take dirty washing home! Brilliant that there was a bucket (such a simple thing) but we could shampoo the dogs on our return from the beach and even a washing line and pegs to hang their towels to dry! Such well thought out touches just makes the whole holiday easier and less stressful which is what it's all about. Lovely cottage. We're looking when we can book it again for next year!

Couldn’t find anything at fault, really friendly locals at village stores and great food and service at horseshoe pub. An observation, not a complaint but from a totally personal perspective the single bed sort of looks like a white elephant in the front bedroom, obviously gives more ability to host more people, just looks out of place to me especially as frame doesn’t match other beds. Our Housekeeper's contact information is provided in our 'Cottage Folder', so we are surprised they were not contacted to rectify any pressing issues you may have had during your stay. We do apologise that the fence caused such concern, it is not a standard sized gap, hence being made of parts, but it is secure and dog proof. It had everything we could have needed, and the large kitchen was a great place to start each day off. The village is lovely, with some good local amenities and shops and a reasonable Co-Op. There are also two good pubs. The location was very quiet and nothing in North Norfolk was very far away, including the Broads and the amazing coastline. The beaches were all fantastic (and mostly award-winning), with the majority being dog-friendly, which was important as we had our border collie companion with us. All in all, there was nothing that we didn't like about this holiday and I would definitely recommend the area in general, and Beaconsfield Cottage in particular, to anyone thinking of having a holiday in Norfolk.

Excellent facilities, clean and kept in a really good condition. Plenty of space for us and our 2 dogs, especially the kitchen and the big and very secure garden which is the main reason that we booked it. A number of other holiday cottages advertised secure gardens but did not have sufficiently secure fences for larger dogs who could quite easily jump a low fence. We did some beautiful walks at Cley, Wells and Cromer and all were within an easy 30 minute drive. Holt also just 15 mins down the road for a bit of shopping. Highly recommend this cottage.
