The property

A quaint and characterful dormer bungalow just a two minute stroll away from the beach, Mermaid's Purse is the perfect choice for a seaside escape to Norfolk.

In easy reach of all of the excitement of Sea Palling, as well as Great Yarmouth, Cromer and Broads National Park, this wildlife haven offers a wonderful escape at any time of the year.

Park up in the ample space right outside of the property before being welcomed into the warmth of the sitting room after each day of adventure, accompanied by a plush seating arrangement which consists of two leather reclining sofas and a rocking chair, accompanied by a 50inch Smart TV to keep you entertained each evening.

Move through into the open-plan kitchen where you can prepare all your homemade meals with the assistance of the good range of appliances at hand, with a snug area here too where the rest of the group can gather to keep the chef of the group company as the woodburning stove creates a homely aura.

Step into the dining room where you can cherish quality time with your loved ones, or make the most of the outside space in the enclosed rear garden, dining alfresco as your canine companions play freely, the summerhouse sure to be a delight to your little ones too!

Back inside, you will find two of the three sleeping spots on the ground floor too, with a king-size with its own electric fire place and a double served by a ground-floor shower room with air conditioning and heating, it makes the perfect choice for those less able.

Up on the first floor rests the whole of the master king-size bedroom, hosting a sitting area and a Smart TV accompanied by a freestanding bath where you can unwind beneath the bubbles and watch the stars through the velux windows whilst listening to the sea, a truly tranquil end to each day, with its own impressive en-suite shower room too!

Begin the day exploring the wonders of the local area by foot, with the beach just a short stroll from your doorstep, it makes the perfect way to appreciate your surroundings with a refreshing morning stroll before venturing over to Sea Palling to find all of the amenities you could need for a self-catered stay including a local shop for picking up any breakfast ingredients, a pub, cafés, Post Office and its enchanting Blue Flag beach, with plenty of history to uncover here too!

Spend a day on the rural beach of Waxham for an experience like no other, where you can see seals up close for a memorable day out with your loved ones, while Horsey Gap also offers plenty of wonderful wildlife watching opportunities too.

A true wildlife haven at any time of year, here you can expect to find pink footed geese and European cranes visiting in the winter months, while tern's and sand martins are regularly spotted in the summer months, making the perfect spot for avid twitchers or those simply wishing to appreciate the rural delights of the area.

Enjoy fossil hunting along the coast, before delving into the past of the area along the Deep History Coast, spanning over 22 miles, home to the UK’s biggest mammoth skeleton, a 500,000-year-old flint hand axe and so much more, it boasts an educational day out for all ages.

Visit the beauty of The Broads with boat hire available from Stalham Staithe and Potter Heigham letting you explore the area in a different way, or venture into the bustling city of Norwich where you can uncover even more rich history amidst wonderful restaurants, shopping experiences, and awe-inspiring architecture.

ECCLES-ON-SEA

North Walsham 6 miles; Cromer 14 miles; Norwich 18 miles.

Eccles-on-Sea is a small, quiet unspoiled coastal village on the east Norfolk coast, nestled between Happisburgh and Sea Palling. The beach at Eccles is sandy, with the sea one of the cleanest in Britain, and this spot is ideal for walking the dog as it has no summer restrictions. The village of Happisburgh is 2 miles away, with its red and white candy-striped lighthouse, and Sea Palling, 1.8 miles away, has many facilities, including a Jet Ski centre. The Norfolk Broads are also close by, with Hickling just a few miles away being the largest broadland village, complete with a National Nature Reserve. East Ruston Gardens, 1.5 miles from Eccles-on-Sea, is a must for gardeners, with 18 acres of stunning gardens. The fine city of Norwich is 18 miles away, offering a beautiful Norman cathedral and castle, along with many good shops and restaurants.
