• "Fabulous property and top class service."

  We had very detailed instructions how to get to the property and despite us being later than expected (roadworks) Robert was waiting for us with a warm welcome. Sea Urchin is warm, spotlessly clean and right by the dunes and beach. Everything you need is provided for your stay plus extras, and everyone around us was very friendly and welcoming. The best holiday cottage we have stayed in for years!

• "What a fabulous cottage in an even more stunning location."

  We went in February 2025 so was a little on the chilly side, however the cottage was a warm and snug location to listen to the sounds of the sea just over the dunes. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles in either direction along the coastal path. It was a wild week when we visited but the views were stunning. The cottage itself is superb. Rob met us at the start and explained where everything is. I have never been to a Sykes cottage that is so well equipped in the kitchen. More stuff than at my own house, so no excuses for not cooking. The highlight for us was watching the seals at Horsey Gap, 30 minutes drive away. Will visit again when it's a little warmer and the sea isn't as wild.

• "Back again for another stay at Sea Urchin."

  First up, Robert is a lovely gentleman who meets you with the keys and all instructions, he makes you feel so welcome. Sea Urchin is very clean, cosy and welcoming - a home from home! The location is perfect! On the beach in under 1 minute and it’s so pretty, the locals are friendly and the way of life takes me back a good 20 years. There’s lots to see and do in the area too, a little tip; if wanting to visit a restaurant or cafe at this time of the year do ring ahead to check they’re open first. For Sunday lunch bookings also ring a few days ahead. Otherwise there’s a lovely farm shop at Boundary Farm approx 3.5 miles and a supermarket approx 5 miles. I can’t wait to go back to Sea Urchin! Thank you Robert once again, you are the perfect host with impeccable manners, and for being flexible with times too.

• "A wonderful little holiday home, warm, very clean, WiFi, great setting, short walk to the beach (1 minute from the door)."

  We loved Sea Urchin, so did Ivy, our springer spaniel dog, who didn’t want to leave! All the cutlery, crockery and glasses were perfectly clean, always a good sign. Eccles on Sea is a great, eclectic place and blessed with a beautiful coast line. Our host Robert keep us very informed from the day we booked and even after our holiday, very polite and personable, he meeted and greeted us, showed us around the place and talked through how everything worked and told us the best place to see seals. We had the best time, sea air, sand, fish n chips, grey seals ( my highlight) and a worn out dog, a first! Hope to return next year.

• "Sea Urchin is a delightful seaside cottage on the beautiful Norfolk Jurassic coastline."

  Robert has thought of everything and its spotlessly clean, refurbed to great standard, cosy and welcoming -even down to him ensuring that its heated upon arrival on an Autumn afternoon. The garden is secure and has a side gate where you can take the dunes pathway and be on the beach within 1 minute. The beach is incredibly clean and beautiful. Sea Palling to the right and Happisburgh to the left. I highly recommend The Star in Lessingham for a huge delicious Sunday lunch although pre-booking is a must. The Barn at Waxham is lovely for snacks, hot drinks and scones. Loved Sea Urchin and its incredible location so much that I’ve booked another week in the new year! And if there was a customer service Champion award for seaside accommodation the top prize would go to Robert. Thank you

• "Sea Urchin was immaculately presented and spotlessly clean."

  In fact it gets my prize for the cleanest oven we have ever had in a holiday cottage. The owner met us on arrival and explained the facilities and reminded us to get in touch with him if we had any queries. A lovely well thought out holiday home, very close to the beach and close to lots of places we intended to visit.

• "Robert was a great host messaging us a few days before our arrival with directions to the property and letting us know we could get in early."

  The property had everything you need with milk,teas,coffee and sugar when you arrive. Robert was there to meet us and show us where everything was. The property had everything you need including dog food and water bowls and a dog towel.The beach only a few yards away. The weather was good but at night turned a bit chilly but the heating soon warmed us when we turn it up.We had not visited the area for about 10 years and it was great to revisit some lovely places. With good food outlet a few miles away and plenty of dog friendly places to eat. We can throughly recommend this as a place to stay. We have used Skyes holiday cottages many times and found them all to a very high standard and already planning the next break with them

• "Firstly, before we even arrived, Robert was an excellent host."

  A text a few days before, and an email with detailed directions meant we didn’t take one wrong turn - amazing for us! When we arrived, Robert was there to greet us, showed us where everything was and how to use the heating, should we have needed it. Absolutely everything was catered for, we had everything we needed except food, even ingredients for the first tea/coffee were provided. Onto Sea Urchin itself … spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, a fab shower and just a beautiful ambience. If you have the windows open you can fall asleep to the sound of the sea. The only downside was our holiday ended! We would 100% return, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sea Urchin. Thank you for a smashing holiday x

  It is immaculately presented and is extremely well equipped and comfortable. The property is situated approximately 200 paces from the beach which offers a wide expanse of practically deserted sand. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with two young children.

• "A fabulous chalet finished to a high specification."

  Well equipped with everything you could need for self catering. Robert, the host, met me there and handed over the keys and talked me through everything and was very helpful and charming. Location is remote but idyllic for the fabulous beach and a good place to explore both coast and countryside and the beautiful Broads. Would definitely recommend. • "Lovely property, the owner has thought of everything you could need for a relaxing stay."

  Other owners could learn a lot from him. Lovely decor all thoughtfully done and not on the cheap! Great base for travelling around Norfolk, lots of pretty villages particularly near the broads. Great location for dogs and children as the sea is virtually in your back garden!

• "We have just returned from a lovely week at Sea Urchin."

  We were met on arrival by Robert who explained how everything worked which was very helpful. Everything was very clean and tidy. There is a lovely patio area and table out the front which catches the sun in the afternoon where we sat whilst the dogs were drying off after using the shower area at the side of the house. Big plus side to this property is that you feel like the beach and ocean are in your back garden, perfect!

  Thank you for your very kind feedback. I know you said at the time how much you appreciated me being there and explaining how things worked. It’s important to me that our guests feel welcome and at home with nothing to worry about apart from enjoying their holiday. • "What an amazing little place."

  Every little detail well thought out. The beds are comfortable, its well stocked even the dog gets 5 star treatment. The owner is there to greet you on arrival and explain the workings of various systems. We had a wonderful few days walking the beach, exploring the local area and generally relaxing. Most of all, it was quiet and recuperative, which was just what I needed. Aim to revisit.

• "We (2 adults , 1 dog ) had a lovely stay at the Sea Urchin."

  Robert was the perfect host from the start, went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Nicely decorated throughout to a high standard. Everything you would need was there. A cosy homely feel to the place. Decent size front garden. Very quiet location, locals very friendly. Beach 2 minutes walk from property. Due to high tides we used another local beach in Sea Palling. Highly recommend staying here. We didn't want to leave. Thank you Robert for such a lovely stay. Looking forward to visiting again.

  I’d like to say a massive Thank you Jean for your very, very kind feed back about myself and Sea Urchin . I’m sorry the sea tides didn’t cooperate during your stay to reveal the wide Sandy beach . • "Lovely cottage - everything you need for a break by the sea and the beds were so comfy (we've stayed in lots of lovely places that had not invested in good mattresses and quality bedding so I was so pleased how nice Sea Urchin's beds were!"

  ) The hosts were friendly, attentive and helpful and there were lots of thoughtful touches around the cottage. Lots of modern features that made the holiday even better for us - air fryer, good WiFi, TVs in every room, Hive heating etc. There isn't much nearby but supermarkets will deliver groceries and we loved the peace and quiet - despite being the school holidays we had the beach to ourselves almost every day! The proximity to such a beautiful sandy beach is astounding.

• "Superbly renovated and beautifully decorated holiday accommodation."

  Lots of little thoughtful touches throughout. Comfortable beds and seating, including a sunny positioned outdoor table, and a lovely shower. Brilliantly located: 3 minutes walk from the beach and from there a short walk to a fabulous little cafe. The owner Robert was so very considerate of our arrival and departure time.
