  • "A lovely chalet decorated in good style."

Conveniently situated near the seafront and near to Tesco. Information supplied about local places to visit. The owner was both kind and helpful.

  • "Good location, ample parking, lovely and quiet."

As others have said the property is small but we found it fine for ourselves. Well equipped with everything you could need. We had brought washing up liquid/discloth/tea towels etc but there was no need. The pint of milk in the fridge and the plentiful supply of teabags/coffee sachets were very welcome after a long journey. Top tip would be to bring bags that fold down as there really isn’t anywhere to store cases during your stay. Also if you want to eat out at any of the pubs in the surrounding area please book in advance, we were turned away from so many (on a random Thursday in September at 6pm) that we ended up with a Tesco microwave meal!

Many thanks for your feedback. We will contact you to address your concerns and then speak to our cleaners. There is a case/bag rack above the coat hangers as the front door is opened, but we appreciate that it may be a touch high for some. When we stay we usually store 2 large cases (not folding or holdalls) in the bottom of the built-in double bedroom wardrobe without any issues. Will have to check nothing's been put there. Mundesley and the surrounding area does provide popular eateries and we'd always recommend booking in advance over the summer period. Update 16 Sept. 2024/Cleanliness rating. We contacted Mrs O'donovan. The site drains had been flushed through just prior to Saturday 5th. (Not a regular practise.) Apparently that caused some backup of unpleasant smells into some of the properties, so it wasn't just local to this one. It's cleared now, but perhaps suprising that the cleaners didn't notice it on the day. However, they do tend to work with the door and windows open. This is a "garden" site and in Autumn there can be an influx of spiders, Some were present when Mrs O'd' arrived. The cleaners who'd finished by mid-day had evicted some but obviously not all the residents and their webs, but these can appear within the space of a 2 to 4 hours. Property Owner

  • "The property was well equipped with everything you needed."

The instructions for use of all the things around the property were very clear. It was very clean and tidy when we arrived and it was an excellent location for sightseeing. My only disappointment was the size of the accommodation rather cramped.

We are very pleased that the Wellmans enjoyed their holiday. We work hard to maintain our well equipped properties to a high standard and go the extra mile to communicate with our guests to ensure that they and the chalet are comfortable. We are therefore very sorry that - for whatever reasons - they personally found the chalet to be 'cramped' and we were genuinely surprised by that comment from a party of 2 guests and dismayed by the 50% rating for comfort. It's not what the majority of guests experience, as other reviews here suggest. In 3 previous seasons with Sykes Cottages, including the radically Covid-shortened season of 2021, we've hosted 51 bookings comprising 2 or 3 guests in this property and none have made a similar observation. Parties of 4 have generally been families comprising 2 adults with 2 children/teenagers or young adults and all have seemed content. However, we do imply in our listing that the property best suits those particular combinations of 4. One party of 4 adult guests in our identical property next door commented that they couldn't fit all of them in the kitchen. Well, no - it's a chalet - and we hope that guests would always read our description and look at the photos before booking. We should add that although both our chalets (20 & 21) have grab rails on the front step and walk-in showers with grab rails, they may not be suited to those with mobility issues: for example, there are no especially high chairs and no seating available for the showers, as one guest remarked upon last year. In that respect they may be unsuitable for some with special needs. Property Owner

  • "Really very nice, clean, comfortable and warm."

Initially found using hob on cooker difficult, after reading info soon understood to use. also found all info left concerning everything very useful. Noted that the toilet cistern had a lot of moisture on it which then drips onto the floor. I tried to wipe it all up, just kept happening. The plumber happened to be doing work at another chalet, he said he had installed this bathroom was aware of the condensation collecting on outside of cistern said he was unsure how to remedy this.

Thank you. We're pleased you enjoyed your stay and had a very positive experience, bar the cistern issue. This is probably caused because in colder weather when fully heating the property, the air in the room is warmer than the very cold water in the ceramic tank, creating condensation on it. The issue shouldn't arise when the weather is warmer and the heating is off. We have asked the plumber to investigate further with a view to lagging the pipes or fitting a valve to mix warmer water with the cold tank feed. Property Owner
