"This was a lovely little house with a very tasteful extension, providing lots of space."
The house had everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable and it was very clean. The outside area was a little disappointing and was looking unloved. Great location to visit some amazing beaches and other highlights of the area.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re delighted you enjoyed Daisy’s Place and found it spacious, beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and, most importantly, comfortable.
We completely agree about the location. South Creake is a wonderful base for exploring North Norfolk, with Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea, Burnham Market and some of the county’s most beautiful beaches all within easy reach. We’re also incredibly lucky to have The Ostrich Inn just a few steps away, as well as lovely local walks and the village playing fields nearby.
Thank you too for your comments about the outside seating area. It is a small, enclosed space rather than a garden, but we take your point about its appearance and will be giving it some attention to make it feel as welcoming as the cottage itself.
We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope we can welcome you back to Daisy’s Place in the future.

"A lovely little house perfect for families."
The bed was super comfy with lovely quality bedding. Loved the bath in the bedroom. It was also great to have a washing machine and dryer to keep on top of the washing. Downside would be the outside space and proximity to the road with small children. It would also be made better if you provided general cooking essentials like salt and pepper, cooking oil and sugar. Also I’m not sure if this is Sykes policy or the owners but I think it’s a bit much to ask paying guests to strip off beds, empty and put out bins and the demands of how to keep the kitchen clean and tidy otherwise you may incur an additional cleaning charge, I’m not sure what you are paying your cleaner to do! These are things we would normally do so don’t feel it necessary to demand it with the risk of having to be charged if not. Overall though I great house in a great location.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. We’re delighted that you enjoyed Daisy’s Place and found it a lovely house in a great location. It’s particularly nice to hear that you found the bed so comfortable, appreciated the quality bedding and loved the roll-top bath – it’s one of the features that makes Daisy’s Place a little different.
The location is something we particularly love. South Creake is a wonderful base for exploring North Norfolk, with Burnham Market, Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and some of the area’s best beaches within easy reach. There are lovely walks nearby and the village playing fields are just across the road.
We’re also incredibly fortunate to have The Ostrich Inn next door, serving lunch and dinner and now breakfast from 8am–10am for everyone, not just residents – perfect for guests who fancy breakfast without having to cook or drive anywhere.
Your suggestion about providing basic cooking essentials such as salt, pepper and oil is very sensible and something we’re looking at.
We also understand your comments about the checkout instructions. We want people staying at Daisy’s Place to feel like guests, not to finish their holiday with a list of chores, so we’ll be reviewing these with our letting agent. The property is professionally cleaned between stays and the instructions should reflect that.
The outside space is a small, enclosed seating area rather than a garden, and as Daisy’s Place is a traditional village property it is close to the road. We appreciate this may be an important consideration for families with very young children.
Thank you again for the constructive comments and, most importantly, for describing Daisy’s Place as a great house in a great location. We’re really pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back.

"Lovely cottage, very well modernised and well equipped."
Village pub and restaurant very close by.
Thank you Michael, we’re delighted you enjoyed Daisy’s Place and found the cottage so comfortable, well equipped and beautifully modernised.
The location really is one of its great advantages. South Creake is a wonderful base for exploring North Norfolk, with Burnham Market, Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and some fantastic beaches all within easy reach, as well as lovely countryside walks nearby.
And we’re incredibly lucky to have The Ostrich Inn just a few steps from the cottage – a great village pub for lunch and dinner, and now also serving breakfast from 8am–10am to everyone, not just residents.
Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope we can welcome you back to Daisy’s Place for another North Norfolk break.

"Whilst the cottage itself was clean, modern and well equipped (but with some tatty edges to the kitchen floor and impractical painted staircase) we were very disappointed with the outside space, described as patio."
It's a fenced-in corner of someone else's drive no bigger than the sofa it houses. Going outside with a dog wasn't safe to enjoy therefore due to the roadside location. Once you've crossed - and it is a busy road - the playing fields were great and South Creake is great for all the key towns and beaches and with a fab pub The Ostrich Inn.
We also found the bath next to the bed very odd and which also made opening the blinds and windows very difficult. The velux blinds need a pole to open them with. Overall ok for a short stay but we wouldn't return as it wasnt the best with a dog.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased that you found Daisy’s Place clean, modern and well equipped, and that you enjoyed the playing fields, South Creake and our excellent local pub, The Ostrich Inn.
We were, however, disappointed by some aspects of the review, as we feel they could give future guests a misleading impression of what is advertised.
The outside space at Daisy’s Place is described specifically as an “enclosed patio with furniture”, intended as a seating area for a morning coffee or evening drink. It is not advertised as a garden or as an exercise area for dogs. We absolutely appreciate that guests travelling with a dog may prefer a property with a substantial private garden, but that isn’t something Daisy’s Place claims to provide.
Similarly, the roll-top bath in the super-king bedroom is an intentional design feature and is specifically described in the property details and shown before booking. We appreciate that this won’t be to everyone’s taste, but it isn’t something that is hidden from guests.
Daisy’s Place is in the heart of a Norfolk village and there is a road to cross to reach the nearby playing fields. We are pleased that, once there, you found them a great space and enjoyed the excellent access the village provides to the coast, local towns and beaches.
We do take the practical points in your review seriously. We will inspect the kitchen-floor edges and painted staircase and will also look at whether access to the Velux blinds can be improved.
We’re sorry Daisy’s Place wasn’t the ideal property for you and your dog, but we’re pleased that you found the cottage itself clean, modern and well equipped and enjoyed both South Creake and its location.

"Lovely cottage and was clean but some general maintenance is required such as 1."
edging to wood floor, a lot is loose and there are some gaps in the twin bedroom where it looks like the wooden floor has come loose and is bare, 2. only 2 wine glasses in cupboard and one was broken, 3. Other glassware hadn’t been checked and was dirty, 4. Couldn’t find a tin opener, 5. arms on dining chairs need a thorough clean, 5. Bannister to stairs was sticky
Bedding was very good quality and the pillows were absolutely divine.
Fenced seating area, it’s not a garden, was filthy, cushions hadn’t been stored away for winter, but to be honest we wouldn’t have used it, it’s really just 2 fence panels and a gate!
Couldn’t get parked across from the cottage as there were a lot of cars parked already so we had to find an alternative parking area and walk.
Should be noted it is situated on a busy road so be ready for traffic noise.
It was nice enough for 3 nights but we wouldn’t stay again and felt it was overpriced.
Crockery and glassware should be checked for cleanliness in between bookings. Dirty/broken glassware is a real no no.
Thank you for your review.
We are sorry that Daisy’s Place did not fully meet your expectations. We always encourage guests to contact us during their stay if anything requires attention, as we would much rather have the opportunity to put things right immediately.
For future guests, we would note that the cottage is described and photographed accurately, including the small courtyard outdoor area and the roadside location. As this stay took place in winter, the outside space was not in seasonal use.
We are proud of Daisy’s Place and the standard it offers, including its furnishings, comfort, kitchen facilities, bath, log burner, and quality bedding. We will nevertheless review the housekeeping and maintenance points raised.

"We found Daisy’s place to be well situated for branching out and exploring North Norfolk, the village itself is very quaint and the residents friendly."
It was a shame the Ostrich pub and restaurant was permanently closed, but as we left we did see contractors working inside, so it looks hopeful it will have new owners, and be open for future bookings.
The cottage was very comfortable and cosy with everything we needed for it to be a home from home for our stay. Many tasteful touches throughout such as the comfy throws and superior pillows for the bed, we did sleep really well, so much so, we have purchased some!
The outside space we didn’t use, and I would say it isn’t really suitable for a dog due to size, but just at the side of the cottage there was access to a lovely track that took you through the countryside, this was recommended by the host, and the playing field opposite was very handy.
We found the stairs quite tricky as we are not used to bare wooden treads, nicely painted to co ordinate with the decor, the edge of the tread was “lost” maybe if the very edge was painted in another co ordinating colour, it would highlight the step down. You just had to be careful and put the light on when it was needed.
Overall we did have a lovely stay.
Barbara
Thank you, Barbara, for your thoughtful and detailed review. We’re so pleased you found Daisy’s Place cosy, comfortable and well situated for exploring North Norfolk, and we especially loved hearing that you enjoyed the pillows so much you bought some for home.
Thank you too for your helpful comments. We’re also very pleased to say that the Ostrich is now back open and thriving, which is lovely news for guests staying in the village.
It was a pleasure to host you, and we’re so glad you had a lovely stay.

"This property is really comfortable and the location for attractions is perfect."
It has everything you need. The beds and sofa were the most comfortable we've had in a Norfolk cottage. Everything is clean and new. The only issue was the listing wasn't up to date. We booked because close to a pub for food and a cheeky drink but it had closed down. Also twin beds were new so were not able to zip up to make king size. Overall yes great place :)
It’s such a shame the pin is closed but we’re really hoping they get it open again soon as the refurb was awesome!!
We’ve asked Sykes to update the listing and will keep checking they’ve done it.
We’d be delighted to host you again

"Daisy's Place was a beautiful cottage that was to a very high spec and cleanliness."
The welcome folder was great and it was good to see the owner had left us a note on arrival. The cottage was well situated as a base for Walsingham and overall we enjoyed our stay in the cottage very much. During our stay it was very hot in the cottage and it would have been nice to sit outside in the shade but the enclosed seating area was not inviting with cramped seating in what resembled a cage. Needless to say so we did'nt use it. We chose this cottage as it appeared to be close to a pub, in fact it was next door but closed and listed for sale - a bit disappointing. There was every utensil available in the kitchen but no can opener. We brought a few tins of beans, rice pudding to use as they were non perishables to take on a long 4 hour drive to Norfolk. There was no cupboard space to put food into in the kitchen. My mother is 79 years old and was frightened to use the shower as there was no slip matt available. We overcome this by putting a wet hand towel on the shower floor but not ideal. It was really difficult to make a call from the cottage but i suspect this is not something that could be improved.
So glad you enjoyed your stay, it’s a shame the pub has had to close but hopefully someone will reopen it as it was restored beautifully.
I can’t imagine where the tin opener was hiding but it’s definitely there!!
We’ll see what we can do about slip mats etc so thanks for flagging that.

A bowl for the kitchen sink would have been good to save water, but not essential.

"Beautifully renovated cottage in a very pretty and well kept village."
The cottage was clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed. However the outside space was disappointing. Described as an enclosed patio it was not attached to the cottage so not suitable for letting the dog out. It was not very clean either being covered in bird poo.

"The cottage was really lovely, really big inside and a treat for us as we live in a flat!"
My husband struggled with ducking all the time and found the shower tricky. The stairs were also quite dangerous as there was no carpet on them so they were very slippy.
Overall, it was a great place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it! Thank you!
