  • "Oak Lodge was a small but very comfortable holiday home for us."

It provided all our needs, it even has a very handy bus stop as we don't have a car, though there is a very handy large car park for the use of those staying in Oak Lodge. We even found a lovely (off main road) walk to the village of East Runton. We loved our stay despite the rain.

  • "Yes the stairs are a bit steep, the car park is at the end of the road and the apartment is relatively small but for the price it is an excellent property."

The owners have utilised all the space extremely well, the “sea art” is really well done and it is very clean. It is very close to a bus stop with an excellent timetable. We thought it was really well placed for a weeks holiday.

  • "Lovely short break with everything we needed in the apartment."

Comfy beds and everything was very clean. The only drawback for myself was the steepness of the stairs as I really struggled with having arthritis. Think this should be emphasised in the description. Meant to leave a note re., the loo seat which kept slipping to one side, think it may have been put on upside down !

We had a lovely time at your property, which had everything that you need. the whole property was very clean, the views of the sea were great. Having the parking at the end of the road was also great and safe too. thankyou for the biscuits and the pink lemonade, they were a lovely touch.

  • "Nice and clean, well decorated but small."

Very noisy road, and very hot throughout our stay. As the inside temperature never dropped below 24 degrees (19th to 24th June), we tried to leave bedroom windows open at night, but only did so for an hour on the first night, as there is so much traffic for most of the night, roaring up and down, so not had a lot of sleep. Took coffee bags with us as no coffee maker, as per previous reviews. Power shower was pretty weak but sufficed. Very small floor-level fridge/freezer is difficult to load/unload. Only two of us but four large adults will struggle as everything is scaled down to fit the small living room and kitchen. Bedrooms are ok but single beds are too narrow for an adult. The Greek restaurant mentioned in the visitor book is permanently closed.

  • "Lovely property and very clean but lacking some basics - a peeler, a grater etc."

Also no coffee maker - a cafetiere at least is fundamental. More attention to those details and less to the many air fresheners would be good! Also would be nice to have a washing up sponge and cloth in welcome pack - would cost pence and make first night much less stressful. We were a bit disappointed to discover that the property is virtually on the main coast road - lots of traffic noise that starts about 6am. 10 minute walk to village to access beach but there's a nice little back way so you don't have to walk on busy main road. Nice property.

Hosts kindly left us some shortbread biscuits and mulled wine. Plenty of bin bags and cleaning materials too which we appreciated. I do think much could be done to improve it. We would definitely come again if we were travelling to the area.

  • "We enjoyed our stay and found the flat to be a good spot for exploring the local area."

We would like to warn those with limited mobility that the stairs are steep and the parking area a grassed area at the end of an unmade road which made packing the car difficult at the end of our stay without blocking the road. Please do not prevent this booking your stay as the flat has everything else to recommend it, its peaceful has a great sea view is close to great pubs and cafes and has all the necessary facilities to make a pleasant holiday.

  • "Lovely apartment, ideally positioned, easy walking into either East Runton or Cromer."

A lot of thought by the owners had gone into making the apartment very comfortable. Having parking was also an advantage.

  • "The information regarding the property, did not state that the entry stairs to the accommodation are very steep with very small stair treads, which made it very difficult to take our luggage up the stairs, and for going up and down, the road outside was a single track down to the car park, you needed to off load and re pack the car hopeing that no other car wanted to pass."

The living accommodation in the flat was very small, as was the kitchen area, the furniture in the living area was very stained and the dinning chairs are small wooden garden chairs, which for a larger person was not very comfortable. The bedrooms were very comfortable and large, the bed was extremely comfortable. The views were very beautiful from the front of the flat, looking out to sea. The internet log on was not in the welcome book, but we did manage to find the router and the signal was very good. The heating radiators were not very effective as the ceilings are very high, it was a bit fiddly to get them to work.

  • "What a lovely little getaway and a cute cottage."

The sea views from the lounge are gorgeous as are the sunsets. The apartment was spotless and they had thought of everything-even down to cling film and foil! They had put in a shower and curtain over the bath when we arrived which was brilliant. My only suggestion would be to put in a handle to help people get in as there is nothing to hold onto. The kitchen is small but very functional- a bigger fridge would be nice as there is definitely not enough room, which meant shopping became little and often. The Lounge was cute but it only has a small 2 seater sofa with 2 additional chairs. They were OK but the chairs after a week became a little uncomfortable. Fine for 2 people or a little family. The beds were OK. The double has a base at the end, so my partner couldn't lay straight as he was over 6ft and kept hitting his feet. The single beds are only 2ft wide and are fine for smaller people but anyone of size would struggle to turn as there is very little room. Again the beds had ends so if you are tall it might be a struggle. Location is perfect being only a 12-15 minute stroll into Cromer along the seafront. Bus stop is right outside the path going both towards Cromer and Sherringham. Parking was always available but the path is narrow so would advise unloading/reloading onto/from the front patio for ease and then parking. Take time to walk to East Runton and onto the beach from there (down the side of Bernies). Overall it was a lovely stay and we would go again.

  • "Lovely cosy property, in a great location just 10 minutes walk from the beach, with a great sea view from the living room window."

Parking is a short walk away down to the bottom of the track. Amenities including towels were provided which was nice, and pretty much everything we needed was there. If you’ve got mobility issues or young children be aware that the stairs to the living area are quite steep. Cleanliness was overall pretty good and it was presented well, but there are some dusty areas out of direct view, and the cutlery/crockery is only as clean as the previous guests - we had to clean lipstick off one of the glasses. Overall, we had a great time and it was a perfect place to stay. We would certainly return there, and also recommend it to others.

It had not and I have a photo I can send if you wish. I also had to clean the top of the freezer when I pulled it out to switch off. I said that my I pad said the Wifi link wasn’t secure and was told otherwise. Would you have linked up if told it wasn’t secure? The access was difficult. This was not stated in the description. Parking was quite far and the access lane very narrow. While packing the car I had to move twice to allow other vehicles to drive out. The flat was comfortable and well fitted, but a coffee pot and scissors would have been useful. I did enjoy my stay because of the weather and places to visit in the area. It was a good centre.

Decorated really nicely. Bedrooms a good size, unfortunately living space very small. Shame there’s not a proper shower with shower curtain. And the tap in the kitchen kept dripping all day and night. The fair across the road that visits on occasions (we stayed bank holiday) that was noisy inside even with windows closed. Apart from that, beautiful views, great for sunrise and very close to beach and shops.

You can also walk nicely to Cromer in 10-15 minutes, which we did most evenings. The apartment was spotless clean and had everything we needed. We loved the view out of the living room window to the cliffs and sea. The whole apartment was decorated nicely in a beach theme and gave a wonderful feeling.
